Reconcile with my ex boyfriend ###

Disciple of Prayer
Lord, I'm asking for reconciliation with my ex boyfriend. To mend my broken heart for him to forgive me and bring us closer to you. Also asking that you take any resentment towards me out of his heart

We join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord and we understand the ache of a broken heart and the longing for forgiveness and restoration.

We pray that God will heal your broken heart as He promises in His word, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We also hear your desire for your former boyfriend to forgive you and for any resentment to be removed from his heart. Scripture calls us to forgive even as Christ forgave us, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. We pray that both of you would experience the forgiveness that comes through confession, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9, and that any bitterness or resentment would be replaced by grace and peace. We also pray that whatever the outcome between you two, you both would be drawn closer to the Lord, for that is the greatest reconciliation of all.

We want to gently encourage you to seek God's will above your own desire for reconciliation. While we pray for restoration if it honors God, we also know that His ways are higher than ours and He calls us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We believe that a relationship between a man and a woman is to be viewed as courtship with the goal of godly marriage, for marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God. If reconciliation is to happen, we pray it would be with a clear purpose toward seeking a spouse in the Lord and not simply returning to a dating relationship for comfort or emotion. Scripture teaches us, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity 2 Corinthians 6:14, so we encourage you both to examine whether you share faith in Christ as the foundation. We also encourage purity in courtship, for God calls us to honor Him with our bodies and to flee from sexual immorality, for any intimacy outside of marriage is fornication and does not reflect His holy design 1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4. If there has been sin in this area, we urge repentance and a commitment to purity going forward.

We notice your request mentions Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are forgiven and can come boldly before God in prayer. We encourage you to put your complete trust in Him for your salvation and for your daily hope.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. Lord, mend her broken heart and comfort her with Your presence. Grant her repentance where needed and help her to forgive and to receive forgiveness. We ask that You work in the heart of her former boyfriend as well, softening any resentment and leading him to forgiveness and to Yourself. If it is Your will, bring reconciliation between them in a way that honors You and leads them closer to You and, if You so lead, toward a godly marriage that glorifies Christ. If it is not Your will for them to be together, give her peace and trust to accept Your perfect plan, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Help them both to seek You first and to pursue purity and holiness. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We hear how tender this is for you, and how much you want both healing and a restored connection. A broken heart after a breakup can leave you replaying what happened and longing for a second chance, and it makes sense you would ask God to soften resentment and bring forgiveness.

One thing that has helped many walking through this is remembering that forgiveness and reconciliation are not quite the same. Forgiveness is a choice one person can make to release bitterness, while reconciliation takes both people willing over time to rebuild trust and commitment. Understanding that difference can take some pressure off as you pray, and help you leave room for God's wisdom about what is best for both of you.

As you seek the Lord in this, it may help to give space for that process. You could spend some unhurried time with God asking what you most want to own and make right on your side, and talk it through with a mature, trusted believer who knows you both well. Giving your ex boyfriend space to process without frequent pressure to respond often allows clearer discernment for you both, and keeps the focus on drawing closer to God whether or not reconciliation follows.

Father, we lift this hurt to You in Jesus' name. Bring comfort to this broken heart, grant honesty and humility, and work in both lives to release resentment and replace it with peace. Give wisdom for next steps, guard each heart, and draw each closer to You and to Your will. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your sorrow has been laid before the Lord, and it is good that you have brought your broken heart to Him who alone can bind it up. The Scriptures tell us that very closely allied to great sorrow is one of the greatest spiritual blessings, namely a broken heart, and best of all, as the Healer of broken hearts, God has chosen One whose own heart was broken. Jesus died of a broken heart that He might bring the consolations of His grace and apply them to you. Bring your poor broken heart to the heart that was once pierced by the soldier's spear and find sweetest rest in Jesus.

You ask for forgiveness and for resentment to be taken away. Hear this blessed whisper, there is forgiveness with Him. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. Whatever your life has been until now, there is forgiveness with God through Jesus Christ His Son, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. Do as you are exhorted, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, through faith in Christ alone, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. Before any other healing can come, seek first to lie before Jesus hoping and expecting forgiveness and healing from Him. First forgiveness, then healing.

And with that forgiveness God gives a new heart. You pray that resentment may be taken out of his heart, and out of your own. Only the Holy Spirit can create in us a new heart and bestow spiritual eyes and ears. Where there has been sin and hurt, we must each confess our own sin to God, receive His complete and eternal forgiveness, and then learn to forgive as we have been forgiven.

Concerning reconciliation, we will not ask God to simply restore a former relationship for comfort's sake, nor to bless a union outside His holy design. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy and living together belong within it. What we do pray is that the Lord will draw you both closer to Himself, that He will do His perfect and holy will in both your lives, and that if reconciliation is His will, it would be ordered toward repentance, purity, and if He so leads, toward that holy covenant, and not merely toward the renewal of former affections. If it is not His will to bring you together again, may He give you grace to accept His wise providence and to find your wholeness in Christ.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness, look upon this wounded heart. Wash away sin through the blood of Jesus Christ and grant faith to trust Him alone for salvation. Bind up what is broken, and in Your mercy create clean hearts and put a new spirit within. Take away resentment and give the grace to forgive even as we have been forgiven. Draw both souls nearer to Yourself, and order their steps according to Your holy will. Let Your fear be put within them that they shall not depart from You, and let all things be done in purity and truth for Your glory. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we are bringing it before the Lord with care and compassion. The pain of a broken heart and the desire to be forgiven are heavy burdens, and God sees them. He is not distant from your sorrow and He hears the cry that is made even silently in the heart.

Scripture shows us that the greatest reconciliation God has accomplished is between Himself and us through Jesus Christ alone. While we were far off, Christ came to break down every wall that separated us from God, so that we might be brought near by His blood. That is the first and deepest healing we all need. A broken and contrite heart is what God does not despise, a heart that is quiet before Him, willing to be searched, willing to confess, and not eager for its own way but for His.

So we will pray for you, not that God would simply grant the return of a dating relationship, but that He would do His perfect and loving will in both of your lives. We will ask Him to heal your broken heart, to give you comfort and wholeness in Christ, and to teach you to sing to Him in your heart even in this painful season, whether in private or among others, with grace and trust. We will ask Him to work in your ex boyfriend as well, to soften any resentment and to lead him also toward forgiveness and peace as God gives it, not by human effort but by the work of the Spirit.

We also want to encourage you in the historic biblical ethic. God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He intends sexual intimacy and living together to belong within that covenant. A boyfriend and girlfriend relationship, even when there is sincere affection, is not the same as that covenant. For that reason we cannot ask God to bless or restore a romantic relationship as it was outside of marriage. Instead we can ask Him to draw each of you closer to Himself first, to bring repentance where it is needed, to give purity and wisdom, and to guide your next steps according to His word.

Our prayer for you is this. Father, we come through Jesus Christ alone, our only Savior. Look with mercy on this daughter who is hurting. Forgive her sins as she confesses them, create in her a clean and contrite heart, and fill her with Your peace. Take away any bitterness or resentment in both hearts and teach both to forgive as You have forgiven us. If it is Your will that their paths should one day be joined in a holy marriage that honors You, make that clear in Your time and through godly counsel and purity. If not, give grace to accept Your good will, to walk in holiness, and to find full hope and identity in Christ. Lead them both to seek Your kingdom first and to trust Your love which is deeper than any human love. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His word, opening your conscience honestly before Him who is the true judge of the heart. Seek wise and godly counsel in your local church, pursue purity and holiness, and commit the future to God. He is faithful to lead those who trust Him and He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk with Him.
