Ps. 23, gratitude, deliverance, rest, peace, rebuke evil, the ability to sit, forgiveness

JesusourLordandSavior

Beloved of All
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Prayer
Thank you Heavenly Father for this beautiful day. I pray for deliverance, peace, rest, forgiveness, and that you would rebuke this evil and remove it, successful fast. Please please please Heavenly Father remove it. Please also forgive me for my sins. Please also heal any unforgiveness I may have. Please stop the attacks that are currently happening my Lord and never seem to end. I would just love to be able to sit in peace again Jesus. I see pictures of people just sitting and reading a book, writing or doing something simple. With these evil attacks I don’t have that right because it’s hard to stay still with the way it attacks. Please Father grant me the ability to just sit in peace. I would be so grateful my Lord. In Jesus Christ precious name. Amen

We join you in declaring the truth and power of Psalm 23, a passage that reminds us of God’s unfailing care and protection. "The Lord is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me" (Psalm 23:1-4 WEB). This is not just poetry, it is a promise. The Lord makes you lie down, even when your heart is restless. He leads you to still waters, even when chaos swirls around you. He restores your soul, even when you feel drained and weary.

You cry out for deliverance, peace, rest, and the ability to simply sit in stillness without the relentless attacks of the enemy. We stand with you in this battle, for the Scriptures declare, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). These attacks are not random, they are spiritual warfare, and the enemy seeks to steal your peace, kill your joy, and destroy your faith. But we serve a God who is greater. "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4 WEB). The Lord has not abandoned you in this fight. He is your refuge, your fortress, and your deliverer.

We rebuke every spirit of torment, anxiety, and unrest that has been oppressing you. In the name of Jesus Christ, we command these attacks to cease. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). The enemy has no authority over you when you stand firm in Christ. We pray that the Lord would break every chain, silence every lying voice, and fill you with His perfect peace. "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful" (John 14:27 WEB).

You ask for forgiveness of your sins, and we rejoice in the truth that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). The blood of Jesus covers you completely. But we also encourage you to examine your heart for any unforgiveness you may be harboring. Unforgiveness is a heavy burden that the enemy uses to keep us in bondage. Jesus taught us, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anyone you need to forgive, even if it is yourself. Release them to God and let His peace flood your heart.

We pray for your fast, that it would be a time of drawing near to God and breaking every stronghold. "But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting," Jesus said (Matthew 17:21 WEB). May your fast be powerful and effective, not in your own strength, but in the strength of the Lord. May He fill you with His presence and satisfy you with His goodness.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name that is above every name. We thank You that You are the Good Shepherd who never leaves us nor forsakes us. We ask that You would deliver Your child from every attack of the enemy. Break the chains of torment and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Forgive their sins and heal any unforgiveness in their heart. Grant them the ability to sit in stillness, to rest in Your presence, and to experience the green pastures and quiet waters You have prepared for them. Rebuke every evil spirit that seeks to disturb their peace, and let Your goodness and mercy follow them all the days of their life. We declare that they will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

We also pray for strength and endurance in their fast. May they draw closer to You and experience a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit. Renew their mind, refresh their soul, and restore their joy. Let them know, deep in their heart, that You are with them, even in the darkest valleys. We thank You, Lord, that You hear our prayers and that You are already at work on their behalf. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

We’re holding your words close today, especially that image you shared, someone simply sitting in peace, reading or writing without the torment of relentless attacks. That longing for quiet rest is deeply human, and it echoes the Shepherd’s own invitation: He makes us lie down in green pastures, not as a luxury but as a necessity for our souls. We hear the exhaustion behind your plea, and we want you to know that your desire for stillness is not selfish; it’s the very thing God wants to restore.

As we pray with you about these attacks that make it so difficult to stay still, we also want to gently suggest a practical step. If what you’re experiencing includes things like a pounding heart, trembling, shortness of breath, or a sense of unreality, we’d encourage you to see a doctor to rule out any physical causes, sometimes our bodies can produce intense surges that feel overwhelming, and God often works through medical wisdom to bring relief. Alongside that, if these events persist, a Christian counselor can help you navigate them without minimizing the spiritual reality you’re facing.

You also mentioned forgiveness, both receiving God’s forgiveness and healing any unforgiveness you may carry. We’ve seen that forgiveness is often a layered process: a decision you make, but then an emotional healing that unfolds over time. The very fact that you’re asking God for it means you’re already on that path. Be patient with yourself; the Shepherd leads at a pace you can follow.

We’re with you in this, asking the Lord to rebuke what is evil, to settle your mind and body, and to give you back the simple gift of sitting in peace.

Lord Jesus, in Your name we stand against every attack that robs Your child of rest. Grant deliverance and a deep, quiet peace that lets them sit still in safety. Forgive and heal every hidden wound of unforgiveness, and overshadow this fast with wisdom and health. Let Your goodness and mercy pursue them until they dwell fully in the safety of Your house. Amen.

The soul’s cry for rest is like the dove of Noah, flying over a waste of waters, seeking a place to alight. You long to sit, to be still, to know the quietness of green pastures and still waters. That desire is not wrong, it is the pulse of a new heart panting after its God. Yet peace is not found in the mere absence of noise, nor in the removal of every trial, but in the presence of the Shepherd. He makes us to lie down, not by banishing all wolves, but by making Himself known. When the enemy presses in, the rod and staff of His grace comfort us, and we learn that to do the will of Jesus, even in the fire, is rest.

You ask for deliverance from the evil that attacks and gives no respite. Remember, the Lord knows the days of the upright. The archers may shoot, but the shield of faith quenches their darts. The Evil One would drive you to doubt your standing, to question the ransom paid, but lift your eyes. The blood that sprinkled the mercy-seat has also sprinkled your conscience. If you are in Christ, the deliverance is already won, the Lamb has been slain, and the bonds are broken. He delivers from the pit, and none can pluck you from His hand. The attacks may roar, but they are the rage of a defeated foe. Stand still and see the salvation of God.

Forgiveness is the foundation of all true peace. As long as sin lies upon the conscience like a heavy stone, the waters will churn. But the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. It speaks a better thing than the blood of Abel, it cries, “Forgiven, cleansed, accepted!” Do not look to your feelings or your ability to forgive yourself; look to the atonement. The veil is rent, the way is open, and the debt is cancelled. If you have confessed your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive. Lay your hand on that promise and let the soul be still. Unforgiveness in your own heart is a poison, ask Him to pluck out that root, but His forgiveness of you is the sure ground upon which you stand.

The ability to sit in peace flows from a mind stayed on God. Trust is the quietus of the heart. When we cease from our own strivings and lean wholly upon the Beloved, we enter into rest. It is not a rest after long growth, it is a present gift. Come to Jesus now with an instantaneous faith, and He will give you rest, perfect, complete rest. The pictures you see of others sitting in peace are not mere fancies; they are foretastes of what He gives. But remember, the rest is in Him, not in the circumstance. Learn of Him, take His yoke, and you shall find rest for your soul, even as the world rages outside the window. His presence is the quiet chamber.

Do not fold your arms in despair as though peace were impossible. The wicked are like the troubled sea, but you are not wicked, you are one who cries to God. And to His own people, He has spoken peace. You are not cast out, but called. The Shepherd anoints your head with oil, and your cup overflows, not because the enemies have vanished, but because the feast is spread right before their eyes. The presence of the foes makes the provision sweeter. So sit, in faith, at the table. Eat the bread of His body and drink the wine of His love. Trust, and you shall rest. He makes even the dark valley ring with comfort.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The Lord is indeed your Shepherd, and that deep longing simply to sit in peace, to read, to write, to be still, is not a small thing. It is a foretaste of the very rest that remains for the people of God. But understand the enemy’s method: he attacks most fiercely when he finds a soul alone and isolated. This is why we must be flocking together continually, so that we are not open to his assaults. Do not face these attacks in solitude; seek out the company of the faithful, for the tempter is far less confident when we are banded together.

Yet even when he does assail, he often does not know whether he will overcome. He tests the hedge, as with Job, and if he finds weakness he presses, but if he finds a firm conscience he draws back. Your conscience, crying out for forgiveness and deliverance, is itself a testimony that you are not abandoned. Hold fast to that, and know that sometimes hindrances, even the inability to sit still, may be permitted by the Spirit for a training, just as Paul was prevented from coming to certain places. God’s delays are not denials.

Consider how Christ made the multitude sit down on the ground before He multiplied the loaves. That posture of sitting was the place of provision. Perhaps your own quiet seat will come after a time of testing, and your soul, now harassed, will be nourished as by alms that no robber can touch, a treasure laid up where neither moth nor thief can break through.

But beware of despair. When Judas felt remorse, his sin was complete, and the evil one hurried him to a disgraceful death, cutting off true repentance. Your cry for mercy shows a heart not hardened. Do not let the attacks drive you to isolation or the ruin of hopelessness. Make peace with all, as much as lies in you, for God is not a God of war and conflict, and nothing delights Him more than a soul that remembers no evil. Your Shepherd is with you; His rod and staff are a comfort not only in the dark valley but in the restless room. Trust that He will lead you beside quiet waters again. In the company of the brethren and in the shelter of almsgiving and prayer, you shall sit and feast even before your enemies.

Your prayer rises from a heart that is weary of the storm and desperately thirsty for simple, quiet peace. I can hear how much you want to be able to just sit still, to read a book or write without being hounded by these relentless attacks. That longing is not selfish; it is the deep cry of a soul made to dwell in the shelter of the Shepherd. The very Psalm you opened with tells you that He makes you lie down in green pastures and leads you beside quiet waters. That promise is real, and He wants you to experience it.

What you are facing is not trivial. Evil, real spiritual opposition, always seeks to keep you churning, unable to rest. It clamors for tolerance and tries to wear you down until you accept its presence. But the beginning of healing is a holy hatred of that evil. The fear of the Lord is to hate what He hates, anything that destroys or defiles. Do not let your heart make peace with the attacks. Instead, stand against them with the weapons God has given you, especially persistent prayer. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and His ears are open to your cry. He sees the torment, and He will rebuke the destroyer on your behalf.

Yet the deepest place of peace is found in abandoning yourself entirely to God. You will never find true rest in your own effort, your own skill, or even in trying to figure out every detail of why this is happening. Rest comes through faith: making a complete commitment of this situation to the Lord and then ceasing from your own anxious works. When you say, "Lord, I have committed it completely into Your hands; I will believe You to work out Your perfect plan," you step into that rest. That is where the soul becomes still, even while the battle still rages outside. The war within is over because you are no longer trying to control the outcome or run from God.

You asked for forgiveness, both to receive it and to give it. That is crucial for the peace you seek. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive our sins when we confess them, cleansing us from all unrighteousness. But if there is any root of unforgiveness lingering in your heart toward anyone, that root will keep the waves churning. A person who clings to bitterness cannot lie down in peace. Let any guile or resentment go. Turn away from that evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it. As you forgive, the grip of the enemy on your mind will weaken, and you will find the table of the Lord spread before you even in the presence of those unseen adversaries.

You will sit in peace again. It will not come from a change in your surroundings but from a settled soul within. Keep your tongue from speaking evil or despair, keep your eyes fixed straight ahead on the Shepherd, and remove your foot from every path that leads toward fear. The righteous are promised peace; they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in uprightness. Your Shepherd is with you in the darkest valley. His rod and staff, His protection and guidance, comfort you. Trust in Him, delight in Him, commit your way to Him, and He will bring it to pass. You will dwell in the house of the Lord forever, and that includes this moment, as you rest in His faithful care.
