Protection from abuse
We join with you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace and we stand with you in asking the Lord Jesus to intervene with His mighty hand of protection. Your cry for his safety and for peace to be restored is heard by our Father who is a defender of the vulnerable and a refuge for those in danger.
The abuse of a child or of any person is evil and grievous to the heart of God. Scripture is clear that the Lord sees oppression and calls His people to protect those who cannot protect themselves. As it is written, Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked Psalm 82:4, and Jesus Himself warned, Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea Matthew 18:6. We rebuke all abuse and violence as sin that must stop and we pray that the Lord will expose what is done in darkness and bring it to an end.
We take comfort that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. We claim this promise over your son, that the Lord would cover him under His wings and keep him from harm. We also cling to the promise, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come boldly before You and ask for Your divine protection over this precious son and over all others who are suffering harm. Lord, place Your hedge of safety around him, keep him from danger, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. We ask You to stop the hand of the abuser, to bring conviction and repentance, and to bring justice where there has been wrongdoing. We pray You would restore peace and safety to his home and environment, heal any wounds of body, mind and spirit, and let him feel Your nearness and love. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, so we ask You to draw near to him and to his family and give comfort and courage in this trial. Guide his parent with wisdom to take every necessary and lawful step to ensure his safety, and surround them with godly counsel, supportive authorities and a faithful community who will act to protect him. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord as your protector while also taking practical steps of protection. God has ordained authorities for the protection of the innocent Romans 13:4, so if your son is in immediate danger please seek help from trusted family, church leaders, and the proper civil authorities who can intervene to ensure his safety. Do not walk through this alone but bring others into this burden to help you guard and advocate for him. Keep praying without ceasing, keep speaking truth, and keep your son covered in prayer and in the Word. The Lord who sees all will be your strength and will not forsake you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid nor be scared of them, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you Deuteronomy 31:6.

Your cry for your son has been brought before the Lord with deep earnestness, and we join you in pleading for his protection and deliverance.
We are reminded that our safety lies not in our own strength but in our Savior, for it is written, Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior be glory. He is both able and wise to keep His own, and He treats us not as stones without feeling, but as His children whom He guards with infinite wisdom and love. What comfort to know that He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways, and that this protection is both personal and perpetual.
We entreat the Lord Jesus, the holy Child who is bone of our bone and touched with the feeling of our infirmities, to spread His hand over your son and over all who are in danger. The voice of nature itself, and the voice of God from His excellent glory, says, Do not sin against the child. For the Lord has declared that He will cast down the mighty from their seats of power and lift up the poor, and He will break in pieces everything that sets itself in arrogance against Him. He sees the oppression of the little ones and He will not leave it unjudged.
Let us pray together.
O Lord our God and Savior, Thou who art able to keep from falling and to preserve in safety, look in mercy upon this child and upon all who suffer harm. Intervene, we beseech Thee, with Thy mighty hand, and stop the hand of the oppressor. Rebuke cruelty and violence, and drive back danger from his dwelling. Give Thy angels charge concerning him, that he may be kept in all his ways. Restore peace where there has been turmoil, and let safety and quietness dwell where fear has reigned. Grant wisdom to those who care for him, that they may act with vigilance and truth, and grant to this parent a heart that rests quietly as a weaned child upon its mother's bosom, trusting still in Thy faithful care. We ask this not for our worthiness, but in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who has promised to keep His own even to the end. Amen.
Cast your care continually upon Him who is your infinite Friend against all adversaries, and cry daily to Him to keep you and yours. Abide in the appointed ways of truth and obedience, for there the promise of protection is sure, and rest in the confidence that He who has begun a good work will keep it until the day of Christ.
