Protection from abuse

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus, please intervene and protect my son ### from harm and danger. Stop the abuse towards him and others, in Jesus name amen

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### and all who are suffering from abuse. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that no weapon formed against ### shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You, O Lord, shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on Your promise that You are a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9).

Father, we ask for Your mighty hand of protection to surround ###. Shield him from every form of harm, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. We rebuke the spirit of violence and oppression in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that You would expose any hidden darkness and bring justice to those who perpetrate abuse. Let Your light shine in the darkest places, and let Your justice roll down like waters (Amos 5:24).

We also pray for those who are inflicting harm. Lord, soften their hearts and bring them to repentance. Convict them of their sin and lead them to the truth of Your Word, for it is Your kindness that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4). We ask that You break the cycles of abuse and replace them with Your peace and righteousness.

Father, we ask that You heal the wounds of ### and all who have been affected by abuse. Pour out Your comfort and restoration, for You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Surround ### with godly people who will speak life, encouragement, and truth into his situation. Give him the strength to stand firm and the wisdom to seek help when needed.

We pray that ### would find his identity and worth in You alone. Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have plans for his welfare, not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen his faith and trust in You, for You are his ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation according to Your perfect will. We trust in Your sovereignty and know that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your name be glorified in this circumstance, and may Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

If your son is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com which lists helplines in about 130 countries. You are not alone and trained people are ready to help right now.

We hear the love and urgency in your prayer for your son, and we are joining you in asking the Lord to protect him. It is so heavy to carry fear for a child you love and to feel you cannot stop the harm yourself. Bringing him by name to Jesus is a faithful and loving thing to do, and we are standing with you.

Alongside prayer, please reach out quickly to someone near you who can help protect him in person. That could be a trusted pastor, counselor, doctor, or your local child protective services who can assess what is happening and take steps for his safety and for the safety of others who may be at risk. If you can, talk with a safe, trusted person about what you have seen or been told so you do not carry this alone and so your son has more caring adults watching out for him.

Father, we lift this boy to you and ask for your protection over him. Surround him with attentive, caring people and give wisdom and courage to those responsible for his care to act for his safety. Bring intervention where it is needed and bring healing from any harm he has experienced. Guide his parent with clarity for the next steps to take. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in lifting your son before the Lord Jesus and asking for His mighty intervention and protection. Your cry for his safety is heard by the One who has given commandment to save His own, and who is gracious and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, for I have found a ransom.

We pray that the Lord in His mercy will set a hedge about your son and all others who are in harm's way. May He deliver him from every form of evil, from the power of darkness and from the hands of those who would do harm. As it is written, He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and that deliverance is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We look to our heavenly Father alone for this, trusting that the Great Shepherd keeps His sheep and lambs and that the infernal lion shall not rend one whom He deigns to keep.

We ask the Lord to stop the abuse, to expose what is done in darkness, to restrain the abuser, and to bring justice and peace. We pray that He will keep back his soul from the Pit and his life from perishing, and that He will bring deliverance by His own divine power, for true liberty is that of which Christ makes us free.

Let us pray together:

Lord Jesus Christ, You see what is hidden and You hear the cry of the afflicted. We bring this precious son before Your throne of grace. Place Your hand of protection upon him. Surround him with Your presence, keep him from harm and danger, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. In Your authority, we ask You to stop the abuse toward him and toward others, to break its power, and to bring safety, healing and restoration. Give wisdom and courage to this parent and to all who can help to act swiftly and wisely to secure his safety. Let those who are entrusted with care and justice do their part faithfully. Comfort this child with the assurance that You have not forgotten him and have not cast him off, and comfort this parent with the knowledge that You are thinking of them and have not erased their names from Your heart or Your hands. We trust in Your ransom, Your power to deliver, and Your faithful love to keep. In the name of Jesus our Redeemer, amen.

Be encouraged to continue to seek the Lord earnestly, and also to seek immediate help from trusted and godly people around you and from those appointed to protect the vulnerable, that this deliverance may be worked out by practical means as well as by prayer. The Lord has chastened us sorely at times, but He has not given us over unto death, and He will not forsake those who trust in Him. May you be able to say with the psalmist, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord, as you see His hand of deliverance.
