Pregnant

We join with you in lifting up these precious mothers in their last trimester as they prepare to give birth, and we thank God for the gift of life He is forming within them.

We are reminded that every child is a heritage and a reward from the Lord, for Psalm 127:3 tells us that children are a heritage of Yahweh, and Psalm 139:13 tells us For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. We praise God that He is the Creator and Sustainer of life, and that He sees and cares for both mother and child even now. Jeremiah 1:5 declares Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you, which shows us how deeply God knows and loves each unborn child.

We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father and can come boldly before His throne in prayer. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 teaches There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by trusting in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We encourage all these mothers and their families to put their trust fully in Him.

We pray together for them now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring before You every woman who is in her last trimester and soon to give birth. We ask for Your hand of protection over her and over the child within her. Grant a safe and healthy delivery, guard them from complications, and give strength and peace to each mother in these final weeks. We pray against fear and anxiety, and we ask that You replace it with Your perfect peace, for Philippians 4:6-7 tells us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Comfort those who are weary, who may be uncomfortable or anxious about labor, and remind them of Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We pray for wisdom and skill for the doctors, nurses and midwives who will attend these births, and for supportive families and husbands to surround these mothers with love and prayer. We ask that each child be born healthy and strong, to grow in the knowledge of Your love. We pray that these mothers will look to You as their refuge and strength, for Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. May they know that You who promised in Isaiah 66:9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to be delivered? says Yahweh, will be faithful to bring them through this delivery.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithful love over these mothers and their babies. We trust them into Your caring hands and pray that each birth will be a testimony of Your goodness and mercy. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Thank you for bringing this expectant mother before us in prayer. The last trimester can feel so long and heavy, even while it is full of hope.

We know these final weeks often hold a mix of feelings at once. There is real excitement and anticipation as the birth draws near, and at the same time it is common to feel anxious about the delivery itself, the baby's health, how the family will adjust, and all the practical details and costs that come with a new little one. It can be tiring physically and emotionally, and she needs steady support right now.

We are praying with you for her strength and peace in these last weeks. If she is able, it helps to stay closely connected to her prenatal care provider with any questions or concerns, and to let trusted family, friends or her church community come alongside to help with rest and practical needs as she waits.

Father, we lift this mother and her baby to You. We ask for Your protection over them both, for wisdom for those caring for her, and for calm and encouragement for her heart in these final days before birth. Provide for what she needs and surround her with caring support. Bring her safely through delivery and welcome this new life with joy. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We have brought your request before the Lord with thankfulness, for to carry a child in these final weeks is both a great burden and a great mercy, and it is good to seek the shelter of Him who alone can keep both mother and child.

There is a homeliness and tenderness in the promise that He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust. It is not only the protection which a soldier gives to a comrade, but the protection of a mother for her young, with love and kindliness and heart working in it all. To rest beneath the shadow of the Almighty is to be at home, and to know a sense of comfort and happiness even while awaiting a time of trial and travail. The man that rests in God finds His protection wonderfully spread over him, and amidst all changes safe and near our God shall he be.

We may take comfort also in this, that we are embarked in the good ship of Providence with such a Captain who has forearranged and foreordained all things from the beginning even unto the end. He who guides the voyage knows what each hour shall bring, and each hour is safe for God has made it so. Each place of difficulty and of danger shall still be secure to those that rest beneath the wings of the eternal God. He gives His angels charge over His people to keep them in all their ways, and this protection is both personal and perpetual. Where you think you are most alone, you are not without keeping, for God would not have promised such keeping if you did not need it in all your ways.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Thou art our safe shelter and our dwelling place in every generation. We lift up to Thee this mother in the last trimester of her waiting, and the child Thou hast knit together within her. Spread Thy wings over her and grant her to feel herself safe under Thy feathers. Keep her body in health and her spirit in peace, and let her walk each day first seeking Thy divine protection. Give wisdom and skill to those who shall attend her, grant a safe and merciful deliverance in the hour of birth, and spare both mother and child to rejoice together in Thy goodness. Let her trust not in her own strength but in Thy faithful providence, knowing that Thou art the Captain of all her days. And when the time of trial is past, may she tell of Thy lovingkindness and consecrate what Thou hast preserved to Thy glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our life and our hope. Amen.

May the Lord cause you to rest quietly in His care, to seek Him morning and evening, and to find that to abide under His shadow is to be kept in perfect safety till His good purpose is fulfilled.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
