Your love for this baby already shines through your words, and your willingness to endure so much for this little life is a beautiful reflection of the love God has for us. I hear how heavy this has been, the exhaustion from medication changes, the worry over the bleeding and the lab results, the high risk label, and the longing for this pregnancy to end with joy and not heartbreak. It is understandable to feel anxious while also wanting to place it all in God's hands.
Scripture encourages us to keep praying with persistence. Zacharias and Elizabeth prayed for years for a child, and when the angel appeared he said your prayer has been heard, do not be afraid. Even when circumstances looked impossible, because Elizabeth was called barren and was well past the usual years for bearing children, the angel declared that nothing is impossible with God. Mary answered that word with simple surrender, saying let it be to me according to your word. That same posture of trusting God while continuing to bring your request to Him is the right place to remain. Keep bringing this baby and your own health before the Lord honestly and continually.
You also have a sure hope because Jesus is our great High Priest. The high priests of old were taken from among men to offer gifts and sacrifices for the people, but they had weaknesses and had to offer for their own sins. Jesus did not take this honor to Himself, the Father appointed Him, not after the order of Aaron but after a greater order, and He is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners and exalted above the heavens. He has passed into heaven itself and ministers in the true tabernacle that the Lord established. Because He lives forever He is able to save to the uttermost and He is always making intercession for us. That means you can hold fast to your profession of faith and come with confidence to the throne of grace to find mercy and help in this time of need. You are not carrying this alone before God, your High Priest is representing you there.
God also invites you to live in the secret place of the Most High, under His shadow, making Him your dwelling place. Fear can take hold and become debilitating, and the Lord knows how real that fear feels when a thousand worries press in. His promise to those who set their love upon Him is that He will be a refuge and fortress, that He will answer when they call, deliver them and set them on high because they know His name. Salvation is not only being delivered from danger, but being delivered so that we might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness, which at its root means being made right before Him and walking rightly with Him. You can ask Him to quiet your heart with that kind of fearless trust, even while the medical unknowns remain.
Remember also Rebekah, who when she felt great turmoil within her womb during her pregnancy, went to inquire of the Lord and He answered her. It is good to seek the Lord directly with your questions and fears as she did.
I am praying for you and for your child, that the Lord would strengthen your body, steady your hormones, protect this little life, and grant wisdom to your doctors as they care for both of you through the epilepsy treatment and the progesterone support. I am asking Him to guard your heart from overwhelming worry and to fill you with His peace as you trust Him day by day, whatever the outcome, knowing that you are loved and upheld by your High Priest who intercedes for you without ceasing.
