We stand with you in this difficult season, and we are grateful you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we find true help, deliverance, and peace. Your situation is heavy—living among neighbors who are bound by the destruction of drugs, the smoke filling your home, and the frustration of feeling unheard by authorities. We also lift up your desire to return to university after seven years, a step that requires courage, focus, and the Lord’s provision. Let us turn to Scripture for strength and clarity, for God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.
The Bible reminds us in **Psalm 34:17-19**, *“The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all.”* You are not forgotten, and your cries have reached the ears of the Lord. Though the authorities may seem unresponsive, we serve a God who is never indifferent to the suffering of His children. He sees the injustice, the smoke filling your home, and the stress weighing on your heart. We must also remember **Romans 12:19**, *“Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’”* While it is right to seek help from the authorities, ultimately, our trust must be in the Lord to act on your behalf in His perfect timing.
As for your neighbors, we grieve the bondage they are in. Drug use is a snare of the enemy, and those trapped in it are in desperate need of salvation. **1 Peter 5:8** warns us, *“Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”* Your neighbors are being devoured by the destruction of sin, and while their actions harm you, we must also pray for their deliverance. **Ephesians 6:12** reminds us, *“For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”* This is a spiritual battle, and we must fight it with prayer, not just for your protection but for their souls.
We also want to encourage you regarding your return to university. After seven years, the thought of stepping back into that season can feel overwhelming, but **Philippians 4:13** declares, *“I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”* The Lord is the one who gives wisdom, focus, and perseverance. **Proverbs 3:5-6** tells us, *“Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”* If this is the path the Lord is leading you on, He will equip you for it. Do not let fear or the weight of the past hold you back. Seek His will in prayer, and if this is His direction, move forward with confidence in His provision.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is walking through a valley of distress. Lord, You see the smoke filling their home, the noise of sin surrounding them, and the frustration of feeling powerless. We ask You, Lord, to be their shield and their strong tower. Protect them from the harm of these neighbors—physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Father, we pray that You would intervene in this situation. Soften the hearts of the authorities to act with justice, or if it is Your will, provide a way of escape for our brother/sister from this environment. Lord, we also pray for these neighbors. They are bound by the chains of addiction, and Satan is using them to bring harm. We ask that You would break those chains, Lord. Send Your conviction upon their hearts. Raise up believers to minister to them, and bring them to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ.
Father, we lift up the desire of our brother/sister to return to university. If this is Your will, we ask that You would open the doors wide. Provide the finances, the focus, and the strength needed to succeed. Remove every obstacle, Lord, and let Your favor rest upon them. Calm their anxiety and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them that their identity is not in their circumstances or their achievements, but in You alone.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of frustration, stress, and fear that has sought to overwhelm our brother/sister. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Let them walk in Your peace, knowing that You are fighting for them. Give them wisdom in how to navigate this season, and let them see Your hand moving on their behalf.
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness. Let our brother/sister feel Your presence in a tangible way today. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we want to encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word. **1 Thessalonians 5:17** tells us to *“pray without ceasing,”* and **Psalm 119:105** reminds us that *“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.”* Stay rooted in Scripture, and let it be your comfort and guide. If you have not already, consider finding a local Bible-believing church where you can be surrounded by fellow believers who can support you in prayer and encouragement. You are not alone in this fight.
We also urge you to continue to call upon the name of Jesus in every prayer. **John 14:6** declares, *“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’”* And **Acts 4:12** tells us, *“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”* It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we find victory. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it.
Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). We are praying for you and believing for your breakthrough.
