We join you in giving thanks to God for this day and for the gift of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit at work in all of life, and we thank Him with you for His mercy and grace.
We lift up your loved one who is cramping in her stomach and we ask the Lord for His healing touch upon her. We pray that she would be fully restored and back to normal according to His will, for He is the Lord who heals us. Exodus 15:26 reminds us that He is the Lord who heals us and Psalm 103:2-3 says Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We also lift up the one facing surgery, praying that the surgery would go as planned, that the Lord would guide the hands of the surgeons and that there would be a full recovery and that the medications would work effectively. We pray for wisdom for the medical team and for peace for him and for all who love him. Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We ask for that restoration and we trust in His care.
We also hear your heart regarding the relationship and the sorrow for problems caused, and the humility in saying you are sorry and in offering freedom to this man to choose as he wills while you hold to choosing him. We commend a repentant heart, for 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If there are things you have done that have hurt others, continue to confess them to the Lord and where possible seek reconciliation with honesty and grace.
We want to encourage you gently with biblical truth concerning relationships. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God, and that courtship should be entered with the goal of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ. Matthew 19:6 says So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. And 2 Corinthians 6:14 calls us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. While we understand the deep feelings of wanting to always choose someone who may not yet choose you, we encourage you not to place your hope or identity in waiting for a person, but to place your trust fully in the Lord and His perfect will for your life. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. If this man is to be your husband, let that relationship be pursued in purity, prayer, and with counsel, moving toward holy marriage. If not, trust that God has a better plan for you.
If there has been any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, scripture calls that fornication and we would lovingly urge repentance and to flee from it, for 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. God calls us to honor Him with our bodies and to pursue holiness as we wait upon Him. Whether or not that applies here, we encourage you to keep your courtship pure and Christ centered.
We are thankful you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Continue to draw near to Him, cast your anxieties upon Him, and seek His kingdom first.
We pray together with you, Father, we thank You for Your goodness and for this day. We thank You for being Father, Son and Holy Spirit, ever present and faithful. We lift up this dear one who is suffering with stomach cramping and ask for Your healing hand to restore her completely. We lift up the one preparing for surgery and ask that You would give skill to the doctors, peace to his heart, and a full recovery, and that You would cause the medicines to work as needed. Lord, we pray for the one who has brought this request, that You would grant forgiveness, peace, and freedom from guilt where confession has been made, and that You would guard the heart in this relationship. Help this dear one to trust Your will above personal desire, to pursue purity and holiness, and to seek a godly marriage that honors You if it be Your will. Let Your peace which passes all understanding guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as Philippians 4:6-7 promises. Help all who need Your help today, draw each one closer to Jesus, and let Your will be done in every life. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
