Seeking prayers to avoid becoming homeless

We have read your request with care and thank you for trusting us with it. What you have endured over the last two years is heavy, the broken promise about rehousing, the ongoing harassment, having to flee your own home, the medical retirement due to trauma, the legal battles and hearings, the financial strain, and now the fear of losing your home and facing court. It is understandable that this has left you feeling immobilized, unable to sleep or eat well, and struggling with physical pain as well as emotional and mental exhaustion.

You did right to reach out. Scripture does encourage us to do this, as you noted. James 5:16 calls us to pray for one another, and Galatians 6:2 calls us to bear one another's burdens. Asking for prayer is not a sign of failure, it is obedience and wisdom, and we are glad you asked.

You mentioned feeling like a burden to the Lord Jesus and worrying that you have little to give back. Please be assured that you are not a burden to Him. He invites us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us, and He came to save and to carry those who are weary. Your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ is the right place to stand, and He hears your prayers even when you feel too weak to pray them well. Our prayers do not need to be strong to be heard, because our hope rests on His strength and mercy, not our own.

You are also facing an earthly court, and it is right to long for justice. Scripture shows us that even in this world God has ordained courts and judgment seats because He Himself loves justice. His righteousness is firm like the mountains and His right hand is full of righteousness. What is overlooked or mishandled by people is not overlooked by Him. He sees what has happened with the housing corporation, the harassment, the cockroaches pushed through your letterbox, the lack of help from those who should have helped, and the way your vulnerabilities have been used against you. Nothing is hidden from Him, and He is the final and perfect Judge who will do what is right.

We are praying for you now.

Father in heaven, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, our only Savior and hope. We lift up this dear one to You. You see the threat of homelessness and the court summons, You know every detail of the broken promises and the harassment, and You know the trauma and health struggles that have followed. We ask for Your justice to be done and for Your mercy to be shown. Provide a safe and stable place to live where recovery is possible. Bring healing to body and mind, restore sleep and appetite, ease pain, and calm the anxiety that has built over so long. Provide for financial needs and give wisdom and fairness to all who have authority in this situation, including the court, the municipality, and those who can intervene. Above all, give a deep assurance of Your presence and love, and remind this one that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You do not grow weary of hearing our prayers. Give strength for each next step and surround this one with faithful help and counsel.

We will continue to keep you in prayer, that God would grant justice, protection, and a safe home, and that He would bring restoration after so much distress. If you have a local church or a trusted pastor, counselor, or doctor, please stay connected with them for ongoing support as you wait for the court date. You are not alone, and your prayers are not alone. The Lord is with you, and His people are praying with you.

May the Lord grant you peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and may He open a way for you to dwell in safety.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing so honestly about what you have been carrying. What you describe is very heavy, being harassed in your own home, being forced to flee, facing broken promises, legal battles, financial strain, and now the threat of losing your housing and having to appear in court. It is understandable that this long season of stress has left you unable to sleep or eat and with pain in your body and mind. You did right to ask others to pray with you. Scripture does encourage us to confess our needs to one another and pray for one another so that we may be healed, and to bear one another's burdens. You are not doing this wrong, and you are not alone in it.

Please hear this clearly. You are not a burden to the Lord. Sometimes we feel that if we keep bringing our problems to Him we are weighing Him down or that we have nothing to give back. But we never come to God on the basis of our own goodness or what we can offer. We come on the basis of His grace and mercy through Jesus Christ. Jesus said His burden is light. His burden was simply to please the Father and to do the will of the One who sent Him, and He invites us to learn from Him. The crushing weight you feel is not what God lays on you. It is what people and circumstances have laid on you, and Jesus invites you to cast that care upon Him. When you turn your problem over to God and put your focus on His power and greatness, you can have confidence that He will take care of it, and with that confidence comes peace even while the problem is still being worked out.

God knows best in every situation. Prayer is not trying to convince Him to see things your way. It is opening your heart so His Spirit can work in you, give you wisdom, and align your heart with His will. He is revealed to us in Jesus Christ as a God of love, compassion, and deep concern for you. You have come to know that love through Jesus, and that is a greater revelation than even those who only knew of coming judgment. The Lord sees what has been done to you. Those who have authority over housing and justice are caretakers who will one day give an account to God for how they have treated those entrusted to them. God is faithful to keep His word even when people break theirs, and His compassions do not fail. Even in judgment He remains faithful and compassionate, and that faithfulness is your hope.

It is also right to feel fear when your home and health are threatened, but fear is an enemy of faith and can push us into wrong decisions. Scripture says not to fear those who have power over the body or over outward circumstances, but to trust Him who has power over both body and soul. That does not mean you do nothing. You should continue to do what is wise and prudent, seeking help from those around you, keeping records, and attending the court as required, but do it not from panic, rather from a settled trust that God is watching over you and is your strength and deliverer. He can be your Savior, your strength, and your help when others do not help.

I am praying for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I bring this dear one before You. You see the harassment, the broken promises, the trauma, the sleepless nights, the pain in body and mind, and the fear of becoming homeless. Lord, become to this person a Savior, strength, and deliverer. Hear this prayer and give ear to these words. I ask that You would bring justice in the court hearing, that those who decide would act with fairness and with a true sense of accountability before You. Provide a safe place to live where healing can begin. Touch the body and mind that have been worn down by two years of strain, bring sleep, bring appetite and strength, and bring peace that guards the heart. Remind this heart that it is not a burden to You, that Your love is not earned, and that Your burden is light. Help this one to cast every care upon You, to learn more of Your nature as a God of love and compassion, and to rest in Your faithfulness. Give wisdom for each next step and surround this life with people who will help bear the burden in a practical way. Keep this one close to Jesus, in whom alone is salvation, and let Your will be done. Amen.

You are not forgotten. Keep bringing your needs to the Lord and keep letting others pray with you. God is with you, He cares for you deeply, and He is able to handle what feels impossible to you.
