We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing it before the Lord, giving thanks with you for this day and for His mercies to you, your sons and daughters, and your family, and for your love for the peace of Jerusalem which we also bring before Him.
You have spoken honestly of feeling attacked and oppressed in your mind, of fear concerning witchcraft, of intrusive thoughts and memories that will not leave you, and of a struggle with drugs and a desire to be healed and made whole. Hear this good word from Scripture, that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and has found a ransom. There is a higher restoration than mere relief from outward trouble, and it is found in Christ alone. When we were as those going down to the pit, the voice from heaven declared, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is Jesus Christ, who bore the curse and shed His blood that sinners might be set free. If you are His child, He has given commandment to save you, to save you from sin, from yourself, and from all the attacks of the enemy. The call of the gospel is simple, Look unto Him and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for He is God and there is none else. Look out of yourself and away from yourself, and look to Christ. He alone breaks the fascinating power of sin and the darkness that hides from the mind what it ought to see.
We pray that the Lord will lift this oppression from you, that He will guard your mind and renew it by His Spirit and His Word, and that He will set you free from every evil habit and chain. We pray that He who can snap the bands and set the captive free will grant you liberty indeed, that you may live and declare the works of the Lord. As you turn from drugs and seek healing for body and mind, we pray for strength to walk in repentance and for grace to seek help from faithful believers and from those who can care for you well, trusting that life and health often come through tears and through the Lord's chastening hand that leads to wholeness. We ask Him to restore to you joy and steadiness, that you may walk as a woman made new in Christ and proclaim His salvation to others.
For your uncle who is unresponsive and has been found to have a tumor, we pray for the Lord's mercy. We ask that the Great Physician would be near to him and to your family, that He would grant wisdom to those who care for him, and that He would comfort you all with His presence. We pray that whether through healing in this life or through His perfect will, your family would be upheld and would know His peace.
Concerning the man you mentioned and your desire to be together, we do not ask God to bless any relationship apart from His holy design, for we hold to His good pattern that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. We pray instead that the Lord will guide you according to His will, that He will lead you in purity and wisdom, and that any relationship in your life would honor Him and be ordered by His Word. If it is His will for you to walk together, we pray it would be in holiness and toward that covenant, and if not, that He would guard your heart and give you contentment in Him.
We pray also for your children and family, that the Lord would keep and protect them, and that He would cover your home with His care. May He deliver you from fear, establish your thoughts in Christ, and cause you to rejoice in the liberty He gives. May you be able to say with the psalmist, The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over unto death, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our ransom, trusting that He hears and will answer according to His perfect mercy and grace. Amen.
