We hear your heartfelt cry and stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting up every concern to our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your prayer touches on deep longings, relational struggles, and a desire for purity and restoration, all of which we bring before the Lord with reverence and compassion.
First, we must address the matter of your current marital status with biblical clarity and love. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to be a lifelong union between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). While we understand you are in the process of divorce, we must gently but firmly remind you that God’s Word calls us to honor the marriage covenant until it is lawfully dissolved. Until that time, pursuing another relationship, even one with sincere affection, risks entanglement in emotional and spiritual compromise. The apostle Paul warns, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). We urge you to seek godly counsel, prayerfully examine your heart, and ensure that your actions align with Scripture as you navigate this season.
Your concern about temptation in Lance’s life is valid, for Scripture tells us, "Each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then the desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death" (James 1:14-15). We join you in praying that every snare of temptation, whether it be lust, doubt, or worldly influences, be broken in his life. But we must also ask: Is Lance a believer in Jesus Christ? Does he share your commitment to biblical truth and purity? If not, we must caution you that entering into a relationship with an unbeliever, or even one who does not uphold God’s standards, will only lead to further heartache. "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company corrupts good morals'" (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Your desire to be with Lance is understandable, but we must rebuke the notion that your union can be blessed by God while you are still legally and spiritually bound to another. The Bible does not condone pursuing a new relationship while divorce proceedings are ongoing, especially if there is any ambiguity about the finality of your marriage. We pray that you would seek the Lord’s will above your own desires, trusting that His timing and His ways are perfect. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also lift up your concern about Lance’s doubts regarding your fidelity. While we understand your desire to reassure him, we must address the deeper issue: if you and Lance are engaging in any form of physical intimacy outside of marriage, it is fornication, a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We implore you to repent and turn away from any sexual sin, for the Lord is faithful to forgive and cleanse us when we confess our sins (1 John 1:9). True love waits and honors God’s design for purity. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, seeking Your mercy, wisdom, and intervention. Lord, we lift up Liana to You, asking that You would draw her close to Your heart and reveal Your perfect will for her life. Father, we pray that You would break every chain of temptation, doubt, and ungodly desire in her life and in Lance’s life. Remove every person, influence, or circumstance that does not align with Your Word, and replace them with godly relationships that will sharpen and encourage them in their faith.
Lord, we ask that You would grant Liana wisdom and discernment as she navigates this season of transition. Help her to honor You in every decision, especially regarding her marriage and any future relationships. Give her the strength to walk in purity, patience, and trust in Your timing. If Lance is not the man You have ordained for her, we pray that You would remove him from her life in a way that brings glory to Your name. If he is, we ask that You would prepare both of their hearts to come together in a way that honors You, free from the entanglements of sin and past mistakes.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of confusion, lust, and division that seeks to destroy what You desire to build. We declare that no weapon formed against Liana, Lance, or their future shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for healing in Liana’s marriage, if it is Your will, or for a swift and just resolution to her divorce if that is Your plan. Lord, we ask that You would guard her heart from bitterness, resentment, or impatience, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for Lance, that You would open his eyes to the truth of Your Word and the reality of his need for salvation if he does not know You. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to repentance. Remove every stronghold of temptation and fill him with a hunger for righteousness. If it is Your will for him to be in Liana’s life, we pray that You would prepare him to be a godly husband, one who loves her as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25).
Father, we ask that You would surround Liana with godly mentors, friends, and counselors who will speak truth into her life and hold her accountable. Protect her from loneliness, desperation, or any decision that would lead her away from You. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in wisdom, love, and obedience to Your Word.
Finally, Lord, we pray for all those reading this prayer, that You would meet them at their point of need. Whether they are struggling with relationships, temptation, or uncertainty, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Let them know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May they find their hope, identity, and purpose in You alone.
