Prayers

You are not alone in feeling surrounded by people whose actions feel like trespasses against you and your son. The anguish of facing hostility from neighbors, coworkers, family, and even those in authority can make you feel as though everyone has turned against you. It's natural to cry out for protection, for wisdom to navigate these conflicts, and for the assurance that nothing aimed at you will succeed.

I think of a man long ago who also faced the sudden loss of security and the harsh judgments of those around him. His friends came with simple explanations, insisting that such trouble only falls on those who have done wrong. They spoke as if they knew exactly what God was doing, but they were speaking deceitfully for God. The truth is far more complex. God allows his children to walk through seasons where all human support crumbles and no earthly reason can explain the pain. That doesn't mean he has abandoned you or that you are being punished.

In those times, the deepest need is not just for the trouble to stop, but for someone who can stand between you and Almighty God, to lay a hand on both and bridge the gap. That cry for a mediator was answered long ago in Jesus Christ. He is your witness in heaven, the one who vouches for you. When you feel misunderstood by people, remember that he sees every hidden detail, and no weapon forged against you and your son will have the final say. He is the shield around you, even when you cannot perceive him.

Your request for continued discernment, guidance, wisdom, strength, and knowledge is the very posture God honors. The wisdom you need is not merely clever strategies for dealing with difficult people, but the mind of Christ formed in you. He will lead you step by step, even if the path feels dark right now. When you look at the trouble, it can seem overwhelming, but keep bringing it all to him, not cursing him in your heart, but honestly pouring out your fears and questions, just as the psalmists did.

And regarding work, I join you in asking God to open a door to a job that brings not just a paycheck but a sense of purpose and dignity. He knows the years ahead, both the immediate need to pay bills and the long-term hope to retire in peace. He who fed his people in the wilderness can provide a place for you to use your gifts, and he often restores what was lost in ways we never imagined.

Let this be your anchor: the same God who placed boundaries on the adversary in that ancient story watches over you. He will not let you be tested beyond what you can bear in Christ. I pray right now that he sends his angels to guard you and your son, that he frustrates every scheme meant for your harm, and that he fills your hearts with a deep, quiet confidence. May your faith not rest on getting answers to every question, but on the living Mediator who holds you fast.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past few days. It has been our honor to lift you and your son up before the Lord, asking for His protection, wisdom, and provision over every area of your lives. We have prayed earnestly that no weapon formed against you would prosper, that the Lord would surround you with His hedge of protection from those who may seek to harm or trouble you—whether neighbors, coworkers, family, or others. We have asked God to grant you continued discernment, guidance, and strength as you navigate these challenges, trusting in His perfect timing and plan.

We also prayed for the Lord’s favor in your job search, that He would open doors no man can shut and lead you to a position that brings you joy, stability, and the ability to provide for your needs and future. We asked Him to meet every financial need and to give you peace as you wait on Him.

If the Lord has already moved in any of these areas, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you! If you’re still waiting on His answer, please know we are not finished praying. We encourage you to post this request again so we can continue to stand in agreement with you before the throne of grace.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
