Heavenly Father, we come before You in this moment of urgency and danger, lifting up all those in the path of this tornado warning. Lord, we know that You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and that the winds and the storms obey Your voice. We ask that You would calm this storm, still the winds, and protect every life in its path.

Father, we pray for those in , , , and all the areas under this warning. Give them wisdom to take immediate shelter, to find safety in sturdy structures, and to abandon mobile homes for more secure places. Protect them from harm, Lord, and surround them with Your angels to guard their lives. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we also pray for first responders, emergency personnel, and all those working to keep others safe. Give them strength, courage, and protection as they serve in this time of crisis. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we know that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Even in the midst of this storm, we trust in You. We ask that You would spare lives, protect property, and bring comfort to those who are afraid. Let this storm pass quickly, and let Your name be glorified in all things.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come to You and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is in His authority that we make our petitions known. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. Amen.

To those reading this, we urge you to take immediate action. Seek shelter now in the lowest level of a sturdy building, away from windows. If you are in a mobile home, leave immediately and find a more substantial shelter. Do not wait, your life is precious, and God desires for you to take every precaution. Trust in Him, but also act wisely. After the storm passes, check on your neighbors and lend a helping hand to those in need. Let us be the hands and feet of Christ in this time of trial.

We hear the urgency in your words, and we join you in lifting up everyone in the path of this storm. When sirens wail and the sky turns an eerie green, it’s natural to feel small and afraid, but we are not alone. God is our ever-present help in trouble, even when the winds roar.

Right now, the most loving thing you can do is follow the instructions of local officials: take cover immediately in the lowest, sturdiest part of your building, away from windows. Encourage those around you to do the same, and once you’re safe, holler over to neighbors or check on anyone vulnerable nearby if it can be done without putting yourself at risk. Practical readiness is an act of wisdom and care. In the days after a tornado rips through a small community, we’ve seen again and again that the church becomes a lifeline, checking on the elderly, clearing debris, offering a place to rest and pray. Be that quiet presence for someone else, and let others do the same for you.

Father, we cry out to you for these communities in the path of this tornado. Shelter each person and animal; guide them to safety and hold back the worst of the damage. Calm the storm by your mighty hand. Surround the fearful with your peace that passes understanding, and protect the first responders and volunteers who will step into the wreckage to help. Be a strong tower for the weary and the frightened tonight. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

You have called for prayer in the face of the whirling tempest, and it is right that you flee to the hiding place even as you flee to the storm cellar. The tornado warning is a fierce herald of danger, and yet it is but a servant of the Most High, for the storm has a bit in its mouth and God holds the reins. Run now to the sturdiest shelter your hands can find, but know this: the Man Christ Jesus is a hiding place from the wind and a covert from the tempest. Under His wings you shall find that defense which is not the cold protection of a soldier, but the warm, homely shelter of a mother gathering her young. The very darkness above you is ruled by Him who makes the clouds His chariot, and the lightning but the glancing of His dread artillery. He smote the Shepherd once that the sheep might be scattered no more, and now the sheep are safe beneath the Shepherd's care.

Do not be paralyzed with fear, for your safety lies in God your Savior, who is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before His presence with exceeding joy. It is a grand thing to feel that God's throne might sooner fail than a saint can perish. Let this be the comfort in the roaring wind: not a hair of your head shall be harmed unless He permits it, and if He permits it, it shall be for your good and His glory. The angels have charge over you to keep you in all your ways, and their protection is as perpetual as it is personal. Get behind Christ now, clinging to Him in prayer even as you crouch in the lowest room. You are in the shelter; the full force of the storm must beat upon Him before it can touch you, for He took the sword of justice that we might take the shield of mercy. Trust not in your own wit or the strength of walls, but rest in the shadow of the Almighty. The way of principle and consecrated service is the way of safety, and they who abide in Christ abide under an everlasting wing, whether in calm or in cyclone. So let your heart be calm, for even if the storm should strike, your spirit is secured in the cleft of the Rock. Take cover without delay, but take courage without measure, for the only wise God our Savior holds the whirlwind in His fist and makes it praise Him.

The warning itself is a mercy. The Lord does not leave us without word of what is coming, and He tells us things beforehand so that we are not overtaken without preparation. Take cover now, exactly as the warning instructs. Move to the lowest room or basement. Leave any mobile home for a substantial shelter. Do not delay.

Let us pray. Lord Jesus, You rule the wind and the storm. We ask Your protection over every person in those counties and along that path. Shelter them under Your hand. Give calm to the frightened, wisdom to those deciding where to go, and strength to the weak. Guard children, the elderly, and all who cannot move quickly. Send help where it is needed. May no life be lost. And make Your people quick to check on neighbors, to open their homes, and to live for the common good in this hour. In Jesus' name, amen.
