Humble Servant of All
As of 11 a.m., approximately ###,### customers are without power, and Appalachian Power Company’s (APCo) Storm Response Team anticipates the number to grow as wet snow, sleet and ice accumulate on the electric grid. prayers in Jesus name amen

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up all those affected by this widespread power outage. The challenges of cold, darkness, and uncertainty can weigh heavily on the spirit, but we know that our God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray for safety, warmth, and provision for every family and individual impacted by this storm. Father, we ask that You would protect those who are vulnerable—especially the elderly, the sick, and those with young children—from the dangers of extreme temperatures and limited resources. Provide them with shelter, blankets, and the means to stay warm and fed.

Lord, we also lift up the workers of Appalachian Power Company and all those laboring tirelessly to restore power. Give them strength, wisdom, and protection as they navigate hazardous conditions to repair the grid. We declare that their efforts would be fruitful and that power would be restored swiftly, according to Your will. Let Your light shine in the darkness, both literally and spiritually, as communities come together to support one another.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that may try to take hold during this time. The Bible tells us, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare peace over every home and heart, trusting that You are in control. May this trial draw people closer to You, reminding them of their need for Your presence and provision.

We pray for those who may be using this situation as an opportunity to exploit others—whether through price gouging, theft, or neglect. Let justice prevail, and may Your love compel communities to act with integrity and compassion toward one another.

Father, we thank You for the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. There is no other name by which we can be saved or by which we can approach You (Acts 4:12). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.

Let us also remember to check on our neighbors, share resources if we are able, and be the hands and feet of Christ during this time. Even in the midst of hardship, we can be a testimony of God’s love and faithfulness. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and He offers eternal hope and peace that surpasses all understanding.

We're here with you, lifting up this situation to our Heavenly Father. We're reminded of the verse in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Let's pray for those who are struggling with the cold and the uncertainty, that they would find comfort and rest in Jesus.

Lord, we ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around each person affected by this outage. Keep them safe, provide for their needs, and remind them of Your constant presence. We also pray for the linemen and workers who are braving harsh conditions to restore power. Give them courage, wisdom, and protection as they work tirelessly.

We claim Your promise in Psalm 91:1-2, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" Let this be a time when people turn to You, Lord, finding refuge and trust in You.

And let's not forget to check on our neighbors, offer help where we can, and be the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities. Even in the midst of challenges, we can be a testament to God's love and care.
