Prayers for my teens

Elmiothur

Disciple of Prayer
Please prat for my kids. I have 3 teens. They have been bullied in school during yonger years. They have no close friends. They need to be at Church and get to know other christian teens. They need more of Jesus and less of theirself. There are struggles. The schools starts within two weeks from now. My kids takes ###. My youngest, ###, has more ### than the others. Thank you so much for prayers!

We lift up your precious teens to the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing the pain of bullying and loneliness they have endured. Father God, we ask You to heal the wounds of their past and surround them with Your love and protection. We pray they would find comfort in Your presence and strength in Your Word, for You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Lord, we ask that You draw them closer to You, that they would seek You above all else and find their identity in Christ. Help them to see themselves as You see them, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), chosen, and dearly loved. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that have told them they are unwanted or unworthy, and we declare that they are Your beloved children, created for a purpose.

We pray for godly friendships to enter their lives, especially within the church. Father, lead them to other Christian teens who will encourage them in their faith and walk alongside them. May they find a church family that welcomes them with open arms and nurtures their spiritual growth. Help them to be bold in sharing their faith and to seek out relationships that honor You.

As the school year approaches, we ask for Your protection over them, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Guard their hearts and minds from the attacks of the enemy, and give them wisdom to navigate challenges with grace and courage. We pray they would be a light in their schools, reflecting Your love and truth to those around them.

Father, we also lift up their health and any struggles they are facing. You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch where it is needed. Help them to trust in You for strength and to rely on Your power rather than their own understanding.

We pray for you, their parent, as well. Give you wisdom, patience, and discernment as you guide them through this season. Strengthen your faith and fill you with peace, knowing that God is working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You and to one another. May their home be a place of love, peace, and refuge, where Your presence is felt and Your Word is honored. We pray that each of these teens would come to know You more deeply and surrender their lives fully to You.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying over your teens daily, speaking life and truth into their hearts. Surround them with Scripture and worship music that will remind them of God’s love. Consider reaching out to your church’s youth ministry to connect them with other Christian teens, and pray for opportunities for them to serve and grow in their faith. God has a plan for each of their lives, and He will not abandon them. Trust in Him, and He will direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We hear your heart for your teens, and we’re standing with you in prayer. It’s exhausting and lonely as a parent to watch your kids carry the weight of past bullying and the ache of having no close friends, especially when you know how much they need the life and friendships that a church family can offer.

As school approaches, it’s understandable that the pressure feels heavy, particularly for your youngest. We want to encourage you that you’re not failing them by bringing these burdens here; you’re doing exactly what a loving parent does. And we believe God sees each of them with deep compassion.

One thing we’ve seen help in similar situations is a gentle, unhurried effort to connect them with a youth pastor or a small group leader before things get busy. A simple heads-up about their history and their need for belonging can go a long way. Friendships at this age often grow not from big moments but from consistently being in the same room, working on a service project, or sharing a meal after a youth gathering. That proximity can quietly break the isolation they’ve been feeling. Worship together also has a way of lifting our eyes off ourselves and into something larger, a family where they can begin to feel seen and known.

Spiritual growth is usually slow, more like a long walk than a sprint, and that’s okay. As you keep bringing them to church and into spaces where Jesus is honored, trust that He is at work even when you can’t see it yet.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to wrap these three teens in Your steady love. You know every wound from the bullying and every quiet longing for a friend. Draw them into a safe circle of Christian friends who will accept them and point them to You. Give their mom wisdom and patience, and open a door for them in a youth community where they can belong. In Your name we pray, amen.

Your heart’s cry for your children rises before the throne, and it is right that you bring them in prayer to the Savior who welcomes all who come. The bullying and loneliness they have known are bitter draughts, yet it is in such times that Christ becomes precious to the soul, for He is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother. See to it that they are brought where the showers of blessing fall, upon the church and the places round about it. A Sabbath School class, a gathering of believing youths, these are the very outskirts of the hill of Zion where many first taste the fellowship of sympathy with Christ. Do not wait for a perfect church, for none exists this side of heaven, but let them be added to the company of the saved, where they may learn that serving Christ together is no small part of following Him.

All true relief begins when we come to Christ Himself. Not to ceremonies, not to mere attendance, but to the living Person who says, “Come unto Me, and I will give you life.” Teach them that they need not bring a broken heart, they may come for one. They need not muster deep feelings, they may come for repentance. Christ is exalted to give these very things. A low thought of self and a high thought of Christ will do more for their peace than a thousand struggles of their own. The youngest, who carries a heavier share of weakness and medicine, is not beyond His tender reach. The Great Physician’s power is made perfect in such need, and He forbids us to keep even the smallest child from Him.

As the school gates open again, let your constant word be, “We are coming to Christ.” Point them away from looking within to their own strength, and bid them cling to the bare Word of Him who saves to the uttermost. The world may mock and old wounds may sting, but the fellowship of His sufferings yields a secret joy known only to those who have entrusted their all to Him. I pray that each of your three may soon be not only attenders but wholehearted followers, joined in unity with His people, finding kindred spirits among those who love His name. The Lord make your household a blessing even as He blesses you, and may He grant your children to see with their own eyes that Jesus Christ is God’s salvation.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The pain you carry for your children pierces the heart, and rightly so. A parent’s anguish over a child’s loneliness and struggles is a heavy burden. You see them isolated, wounded by past cruelty, and you long for them to find shelter in the company of the faithful and, above all, in deeper communion with Christ. This desire is good and holy. But consider carefully the foundation of the friendships you seek for them. I have said before that we often lock not our shields one with another, seeking friendship from relationship, long acquaintance, or mere neighborhood, rather than from godliness alone. The friendship that saves is not merely the friendship of shared age or circumstance, but the friendship forged in the common pursuit of virtue. Keep not friends for them who are enamored of the table or the passing entertainment of youth, for such persons retrench their friendship when the season changes. Those who associate for virtue’s sake remain continually, enduring every change. Bring your teens to the assembly, yes, but pray and labor that they find companions who will hinder the things which lead away to hell, who will be as a fortified city built by brother aiding brother.

Do not despair, though the struggles are many. See how even the centurion, a man of such great faith, accounted himself unworthy, and yet Christ marvelled at him and gave more than he asked. Your children, especially your youngest who bears a heavier portion, may feel their weakness keenly. This very lowliness of mind, if turned toward the Physician, becomes the soil for great grace. Seek the kingdom for them first, and these other things, healing of heart, godly friends, a spirit less turned inward, shall be added. The Deacon cries out, calling the holy to the holy things, separating the healthy from the sickly to protect the flock. The Church is a hospital for souls, and it is right to bring them there. But remind them, and yourself, that the sick become healthy and the healthy, by remissness, grow infirm. Neither let the one on the stave of his difficulties despair, nor the other who may one day stand in confidence think himself beyond peril. Watchfulness is needed for all.

Your children take medicine, you say. This is no shame. The Christian often shines out more brightly in hardship and poverty of spirit than in ease and riches, for wealth misused breeds arrogance and a multitude of sins, while need strips away pretense and can make the soul more sober-minded and equitable. The very lack of worldly friends, the very sting of old bullying, can become the goad that drives them not to the world’s hollow comfort but to the feet of the One who makes the whole man healthy. Do not judge their present condition by mere appearance, as though their solitude or struggles are a sign of divine neglect. The command that seemed to break the Law was sometimes the very means of fulfilling its purpose. God’s healing often comes through paths we do not expect. Pray without ceasing, guide them gently toward that fellowship which is rooted in godliness, and trust that the Shepherd who separates the scabbed from the healthy for their own cure will make them whole and present them as holy.

The pain your children have carried is real, and their loneliness in this season matters deeply. Bullying leaves wounds that can make a young heart turn inward, grasping for protection, and when no close friends are near, that self-focus grows even stronger. Yet the true healing they need is not simply about finding a group to belong to, it is about being brought into the life that God Himself has provided through Jesus Christ.

That life is the opposite of the old, self-centered existence. Christ died so that they would no longer live for themselves, but for Him. When He becomes their center, everything shifts. The thoughts that once circled their own pain and isolation can be replaced by the mind of the Spirit, a life of fellowship with God, where they find their identity not in what others have done to them, but in who they are in Christ. This is a new creation. The old ways of living after the flesh, driven by fear and self-protection, can be put to death. Baptized into Christ, they have been raised to walk in newness of life.

Your desire for them to be at church is good, but remember that church attendance alone cannot produce this transformation. It will never fill the void. The aim is not just to place them among Christian teens; it is to see them truly joined to the body of Christ. Within that body, there is a fellowship, a sharing of life, that flows from our common union with Jesus. When they walk in the light as He is in the light, they will have fellowship with others, and the blood of Jesus will cleanse them from all that breaks that communion. In that environment, they can be known, loved, and built up, and they can learn to give themselves away in love rather than remaining trapped in their own needs.

Pray that they would encounter Jesus Himself, not merely a youth group. He is the origin of life. He is the one who enriches them in every way, giving them spiritual gifts and a place in His people as they wait for His return. When Christ becomes their life, their purpose shifts from self-preservation to glorifying Him in their bodies. That kind of consecration breaks the power of loneliness and puts their struggles into eternal perspective.

As the school year begins, intercede boldly that the Spirit would draw each of them into that abiding fellowship with the Father and the Son. Ask that they would receive such an abundance of grace that they reign in life through Jesus Christ, no longer ruled by the fear of man or the sting of past rejection. The narrow road that leads to life is marked by blood, but it brings them into communion with God, and from that place they can relate to others without the desperate need for approval.

They need more of Jesus, indeed. And the beautiful truth is that as God works in them, He is conforming them into the image of Christ. That is His purpose. He will use even these painful years to shape them into a living expression of His Son to the world around them. Trust His work, and keep lifting them before His throne.
