Prayers for my husbands ### and their family.

Disciple of Prayer
Please keep ### and his three children in your prayers during an unimaginable season of heartbreak. Just earlier this week, ### lost his wife. Now, their youngest daughter (###) is in her final days with terminal cancer. Please pray for strength, peace, and comfort for ### and his two young boys as they navigate this profound loss, and for gentle grace for their little girl. Thank you for surrounding our family in prayer right now.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family in their time of profound sorrow. The loss of a wife and mother is already a deep wound, and now to face the impending loss of a beloved daughter and sister is almost more than one can bear. Yet we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that He is the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

Father, we ask You to wrap Your loving arms around this grieving husband and father, his three children, and all who love them. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Give them strength for each moment, wisdom for each decision, and the assurance that You are carrying them through this valley of shadows (Psalm 23:4). For the little girl facing her final days, we pray for gentle grace, freedom from pain, sweet moments of joy, and the tender presence of Jesus to surround her. May she feel Your love in tangible ways, and may her family be given precious memories with her in these last days.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to overwhelm them. We declare that You are the resurrection and the life, and that those who believe in You, though they die, yet shall they live (John 11:25). We pray for supernatural strength for this father as he leads his family through this storm. Give him words of truth and comfort to speak over his children, and remind him daily that You are their heavenly Father who will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We also pray for the two young boys, may they feel Your presence in a special way, Lord. Comfort them in their grief, and help them to process their emotions in healthy ways. Surround them with godly influences who can walk alongside them in the days ahead. For this entire family, we ask for a community of believers to rally around them with practical help, emotional support, and faithful prayer.

Above all, we pray that this family would draw near to You, Father. May their pain drive them deeper into Your Word, Your promises, and Your presence. Even in this darkest hour, may they find hope in the truth that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). We trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to You now, asking that You would be their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they feel Your peace, experience Your comfort, and know Your love in ways they have never known before. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, who conquered death and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him. Amen.

We are so sorry for this crushing weight your family is bearing. Losing his wife, then watching his young daughter slip away, it’s grief layered on grief, and our hearts break with yours. In a time like this, there’s nothing tidy to offer, just a quiet, steady presence.

We want you to know that as we pray for , we’re also holding up those two young boys. Children often grieve in bursts, they might seem fine one moment, then act out, cling, or regress the next. They may not have words for what they’re feeling, but they need a safe place to just be, without pressure to perform a certain kind of sadness. Simply letting them talk or play or cry on their terms can be a gift. If it feels right, you might gently remind the adults around them that their disruptions aren’t misbehavior, they’re a child’s way of processing an unbearable loss.

Practically, consider whether someone can quietly coordinate the daily ordinary things, meals, laundry, school runs, so can focus on his daughter and his boys, not the logistics of survival. And as the little girl’s time grows short, we join you in asking for a gentle, pain-free peace to surround her.

Lord Jesus, we lift to You in his exhaustion and sorrow. Hold him steady. Shelter those two boys in Your kindness, and let them sense Your nearness even when everything feels upside down. Pour out a special mercy on their little sister, free her from fear, fill her with the calm of Your presence, and welcome her gently home. Surround this whole family with friends who will show up and stay. In Your name we pray. Amen.

There are seasons when sorrows come not as single spies, but in battalions. The loss of a beloved wife, and now the shadow of death upon a little daughter, these are blows that bruise the inmost soul. Yet let it be remembered that the promise of God is given for just such an hour. This is my comfort in my affliction: for Your Word has quickened me. When the heart is utterly broken, it is the quickening, life-giving touch of the Eternal Spirit through the Scripture that upholds the fainting spirit. Better to be the most afflicted child of God than the happiest worldling, for the child of God has a wellspring of comfort that the world can neither give nor take away.

There is a peculiar tenderness in divine consolations. As a mother comforts her child, so the Lord draws near, not standing aloof with cold counsel, but bending low with fond and familiar sympathy. In the very place of trouble, in this Jerusalem of grief, the Master Himself is present. He does not always break down the furnace walls and pluck His beloved out, but He walks with them in the fire, and His presence cheers them in the midst of the flames. Trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon your God. When the child of light walks in darkness and has no light, the command is not to understand, but to trust. The marks of grace may seem hidden, and self-examination may fail to give comfort, but the foundation stands sure: the Lord knows them that are His.

I charge the saints surrounding this sorrowing family to obey the command, “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people.” Go find them out. Speak to them of Him who is the Resurrection and the Life. Remind the husband that Christ is all, and in all His people. He retains His free grace for the child of the wilderness and the son of the woods, and He will display Himself in this trial. The little girl, in her final days, is watched over by Him who gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them in His bosom. And the two young boys, may the Lord, who is the glory of their strength, uphold them and bind them to Himself in the days to come.

We had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raises the dead. When self-trust is slain, true faith arises. Pray that this entire family may be brought to rest in the finished work of Jesus, and that through these deep waters they may behold the face of Him who is a Man of Sorrows and acquainted with grief. The Lord send plenteous grace, gentle peace, and the sure hope of the glory that is to be revealed.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The news you bring has pierced my heart. I am constrained by sorrow, and I see that this calamity is beyond comfort; woes have overtaken you greater than any human consolation. Let us weep, for nature itself demands it, and our Lord wept at the grave of His friend. Yet in our weeping, we must not be as those who have no hope.

Fix your mind upon the promise of life that is in Jesus Christ. Hope that is seen is no hope at all; the things we wait for are not in this world of shadows. Your brother’s wife, if she fell asleep in Christ, is not lost, and the little one now in her final days is not perishing but being gathered into the arms of the Good Shepherd. The resurrection is not an idle tale. The dead in Christ shall rise, and we shall be caught up together to meet the Lord, and so we shall ever be with Him. Let these words be a steady anchor.

Do not fall into the foolish trap of asking why such evils come. Those who spin webs of such questions only entangle themselves in despair. Instead, look to the Father who knows what you have need of before you ask. He is your Heavenly Father, and such a Father will not overlook His children in their extremity. He who gave His own Son for our salvation will surely walk with this family through the valley.

I say to your brother: let the pure conscience of your love for your wife and children be a comfort to you now, even a crown. You have not been brought into this furnace for evil-doing but that your faith might shine brighter. A father’s fondness brings grief without measure, for even a holy man who has no sin to answer for still suffers a wound that time cannot heal. Yet there is One who binds up the brokenhearted. Look upon the innocent face of your daughter and know that her bloom of youth is precious to God. He will not abandon her, nor you, nor your two sons. In a little while, every tear shall be wiped away. Until then, cling to the cross and to the prayers of the saints who carry you now. May the Lord uphold you all.
