My husband left our family

I want my husband home with me and my two boys
We have been married for ### years and he has moved to ### with another woman. I want him to know that I love him and im sorry that he felt manipulated into this situation. GOD has helped me understand what I was doing wrong and im sorry. I want my friend back. I want my husband. I hate that he felt pressure. I need a prayer team to help guide my husband back to me and my two boys. We love him so dearly and we truly miss him.

We hear your heartbreak and desperation, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your marriage and family before the Lord. Your willingness to examine your own actions and seek God’s wisdom is a powerful step toward healing. The Bible tells us in James 4:6, "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'" Your humility and repentance are pleasing to God, and we believe He will honor your desire to restore your marriage according to His will.

First, we must address the painful reality of what has taken place. Your husband has left you for another woman, and this is a direct violation of the covenant he made before God. Marriage is a sacred bond, and adultery is a grievous sin. In Malachi 2:16, the Lord says, "For I hate divorce... and him who covers his garment with violence." We must rebuke the enemy’s lies that have led your husband astray and pray for his eyes to be opened to the truth. The other woman is not the answer to his struggles, only God can fill the void in his heart. We declare that any ungodly soul tie between them be broken in the name of Jesus, and we pray for conviction to fall upon your husband’s heart.

We also want to gently address your words about feeling responsible for his actions. While it is right to acknowledge where we may have failed in our marriages, we must not take on the burden of his choices. Each person is accountable to God for their own sins (Ezekiel 18:20). Your husband made the decision to leave, and he must answer for that before the Lord. However, we rejoice that you are seeking God’s transformation in your own life, and we pray that your example will lead him back to repentance.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage and family to You. Lord, You are the God of restoration, and we ask that You would draw this husband back to his wife and children. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the pain his choices have caused. Convict him of his sin, and lead him to repentance. Break any ungodly ties in his life, and let him remember the vows he made before You. We declare that the enemy has no place in this marriage, and we rebuke the spirit of adultery and deception in Jesus’ name.

Father, we pray for this wife and her two boys. Give them strength and peace as they wait on You. Heal their hearts from the rejection and betrayal they feel. Let them sense Your presence in a tangible way, reminding them that You are their Provider and Protector. Help this wife to release any bitterness or resentment, and fill her with Your love and grace. Guard her heart from despair, and let her trust in Your timing.

Lord, we ask that You would work a miracle in this marriage. Let this husband see the love and humility of his wife, and let it draw him back to her. Restore what has been broken, and make their marriage stronger than ever before. We pray for wisdom for this wife as she navigates this difficult season. Give her the words to speak and the actions to take that will honor You. Surround her with godly counsel and support, and let her feel the prayers of Your people lifting her up.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. We trust in Your power to heal and restore, and we declare that this marriage will be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and offer biblical guidance. Continue to walk in humility and forgiveness, but also stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. Your husband needs to see Christ in you, and that may be the very thing that draws him back.

We also want to remind you that your identity is not found in your marriage, but in Christ. Even if your husband does not return, God is still faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). You and your boys are deeply loved by Him, and He has a plan for your lives. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and trust Him to lead you through this valley.

Lastly, we urge you to pray for your husband daily, but also pray for yourself and your boys. Ask God to give you strength, wisdom, and peace. Pray that He would protect your hearts from bitterness and that He would fill you with His joy. The road ahead may be difficult, but God is with you every step of the way. Lean on Him, and let Him carry your burdens. We stand with you in faith, believing that God can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

We hear how deeply you love your husband and how much you miss the life you shared together as a family. The ache of wanting him home is completely understandable, and we’re sorry for the pain you and your boys are carrying right now. It’s good that God has been showing you things you can grow in, that kind of honest heart work is never wasted, no matter what choices another person makes.

When a marriage is torn apart this way, the swirling emotions of longing, confusion, and even hope are all part of a normal grieving process. There’s no shortcut through it, but you don’t have to walk it alone. We’d encourage you to find one or two trusted believers in your church who can sit with you, listen, and pray with you regularly in person. Being held up by others who know your name and your specific need can be a real lifeline. It may also help to speak with a pastor or a Christian counselor who can help you process the hurt without getting stuck in self-blame, his leaving was his own decision, and you don’t carry the weight of that.

We are praying with you for God’s steady presence to surround you and your boys right now.

Lord, you see this wife and mother who is grieving such a deep loss. Wrap your arms around her and her sons, giving them comfort and a real sense of your nearness each day. Provide wise, caring people to come alongside and pray with her in person. Work in this situation in your way and in your time, drawing each heart closer to you, and bring strength for the days ahead. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your sorrow and your longing cry out from the page, and it is a grief to think of a home so broken, a husband and father so straying. Yet I thank God with you that He has shown you what was amiss in your own heart. That is a tender mercy, a kiss from the Father to your own soul. A broken and a contrite heart He will not despise. When we see our own sin, even in measure, it prepares us to pray aright for another.

But now look beyond yourself to the great hope. The one you yearn for has wandered into a far country, feeding upon husks which cannot satisfy. He is in the mire of a great sin, a sin that sunders what God has joined, that breaks covenant, and that brings dishonour upon the name of Christ. For a man to leave his own wife and children for another woman is an evil way, and you cannot, you must not, ask God to bless that false union or to comfort him within it. To pray for his return is right and godly; to pray for peace upon his rebellion would be to ask a poison for his soul. Our Master cannot smile upon a man while he hugs his iniquity to his breast.

Yet there is a voice that cries, “Return! Return!” It is the cry of the wounded Saviour, whose heart yearns for His wandering sheep. The Father stands at the gate, ready with forgiveness, with the robe and the ring, with kisses unnumbered to welcome the prodigal back, but only back. There can be no feasting in the strange country, no fellowship with the harlot and with God. The word is, “Return now every one from his evil way.” He must turn his face from that woman and from that place, and with a true loathing of his sin, come back to the Lord his God, and to the wife of his covenant.

Your part is to be all the more instant in prayer. Not the cold, formal prayer of the mouth, but the agony that wrestles, the importunity that will not let the Angel go until He bless. Plead with God for his soul as Daniel pleaded for the sanctuary, as the Syrophoenician cried, “Lord, help me!” This is a prayer which God the Holy Spirit Himself stirs up within you. Let the memory of your own sin make you humble, not hopeless. Let it drive you more fiercely to the throne of grace, where Jesus ever lives to intercede. He has prayed for you; He can pray for your husband. It is a prevenient mercy that before the snare is fully broken, Christ’s prayer goes up for the wandering one.

Yet think it not strange if the Lord’s answer is to bring the bitter fruit of that sin crashing down around him. The famine in the far country is often the surest messenger of mercy. When the husks are gone, when the false dream shatters, when he comes to himself in the miry sty of his own making, then shall the cry of your faith be heard. “Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings.” The Lord is able to make his sin more bitter than gall, so that he loathes the very feast he now enjoys. Pray that conviction may seize him, that no rest be given to his eyes nor slumber to his eyelids until he is shaken from his strong delusion.

Pray, dear pleading soul, for the God of peace to be with you. Cry, “Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?” Pour out your heart for your husband’s very soul, that he may not trifle with his convictions, for eternity is too short to lament such trifling. Yet remember, while you seek his return, your first Husband is Christ. He will never leave you nor forsake you, though all earthly props give way. The sweetest promise in all this bitter cup is that you, returning to your own first love, shall find Christ drawing near to you in the furnace. The prayer of agony, prayed in company with a sympathizing Saviour, will not fail. Though the vision tarry, wait for it.

Father, we pray for this wife and her two boys.
Bring her husband home—soften his heart, clear his eyes, and break every chain holding him (Ezekiel 36:26).
Restore their marriage and let Your peace fill their home (Philippians 4:7).
In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The marriage bond cannot be undone by a husband's desertion. He who has left his wife and cleaved to another woman commits adultery, and the one who shares his bed is not his wife. The Lord spoke to the Samaritan woman: “Thou hast had five husbands, and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband.” So it is with your husband now; the companion he has taken is no true spouse but a partner in sin, and their union is an affront to God.

Yet you do well to humble yourself and search your own heart. It is a grace that you see your past faults, and your desire to make amends is not wrong. But do not carry blame for his sin. A husband who takes offense at his wife’s shortcomings does not find in them a license to forsake his vows and climb into another bed. That choice was his own, and the guilt for it rests squarely on his shoulders. You must not imagine that you could have prevented it by a more perfect conduct; the profligate heart is not restrained by a wife’s beauty or flattery, but is driven onward by its own lust. So put away excessive self-reproach, and turn your sorrow into a quiet and steady repentance before God.

Your husband is still your husband as long as he lives. The Apostle is clear: a wife who departs from her husband must remain unmarried or be reconciled. How much more when he is the one who left? You are bound to him by a law no human court can dissolve. Therefore, do not even let the thought of another man enter your mind. That would be to fall into the very pit he has dug for himself. Your path now is to stand blameless, praying without ceasing, and hoping for his return. But do not chase after him with messages of apology and pleading, as though you alone were to blame. That may only harden him in his self‑justification. Instead, commit the matter into God’s hands, as the servant of Abraham did when seeking a bride for Isaac. Say to the Lord, “Whomever Thou wilt, provide.” Pray earnestly, but also quietly, with the adorning of a meek and gentle spirit, which is of great price in His sight.

It is this hidden person of the heart that can soften a hardened husband, not instruction or complaint. Let your conduct be pure and reverent. Care for your boys in the fear of God, and let your home be a place of order and virtue even in his absence. When he sees your quiet endurance and your refusal to return evil for evil, he may be shamed into repentance. But whether he returns or not, you must build your house on the rock of Christ. The Church herself is a bride whom the Heavenly Bridegroom espoused when she was poor and stained, and He never abandons her. So too, you are called to reflect that faithful love, guarding the marriage bed even when it has been defiled, and trusting that the Lord who raised the dead can raise a dead affection.

I will join my prayers with yours, asking the Lord to bring your husband to his senses, to wound his conscience with the weight of his adultery, and to lead him home in true sorrow. But I charge you: do not let bitterness take root. Forgive him as you hope to be forgiven, and let your soul wait in patience. The Physician of souls knows how to heal even this rupture. Until then, cling to your children as a sacred trust, and do not neglect the assembly of the Church, where the cries of the brokenhearted are heard. The Lord is near. Stand fast.
