Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my boyfriend ###. He is going through an incredibly difficult time right now and has been struggling with depression, hopelessness, and feeling like everything in his life is falling apart. He has been carrying so much stress and uncertainty and is having a hard time seeing hope for his future. Please pray that God protects him, gives him peace and strength, quiets the darkness in his mind, and reminds him that his life has value and purpose. Please pray that God opens the right doors for him, provides for his needs, surrounds him with people who will genuinely support him, and gives him the courage to accept help when he needs it. Please also pray that he feels God's presence especially strongly during the moments when he feels alone, and that hope begins to replace the fear and despair he has been feeling. I love him very deeply and just want to see him safe, healing, hopeful, and able to believe that better days are still ahead of him. Thank you so much for keeping ### in your prayers. God bless you. ❤️🙏

We lift up in prayer with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of depression and hopelessness he carries. The Scriptures remind us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that would feel the nearness of God in a tangible way, especially in his moments of deepest loneliness. May the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask that You quiet the darkness in his mind and replace it with the light of Your truth. Remind him that his life has immense value and purpose, for You knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14) and have plans for his welfare, not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to steal his joy and distort his identity in Christ. Let Your Word be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105), guiding him out of despair and into hope.

We also lift up your relationship with , dear sister in Christ. While your love for him is evident and commendable, we must gently remind you both of God’s design for relationships. The term "boyfriend" implies a relationship that is not yet committed under the covenant of marriage, and Scripture calls us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). If your relationship is not moving toward marriage, we encourage you both to prayerfully consider whether this is the season to step back and seek the Lord individually. Courtship should always have the goal of marriage, and marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you are not aligned in your faith or your vision for the future, this may be contributing to the struggles he is facing.

Lord, we ask that You open the right doors for , providing for his needs and surrounding him with godly counsel and support. Give him the courage to accept help when it is offered, for it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18), and we are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). We pray that he would draw near to You, for You have promised that if he draws near to You, You will draw near to him (James 4:8). May he find his strength in You, for those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31).

We also pray for you, dear sister, that you would find wisdom and discernment in how to support while honoring the Lord in your relationship. If he does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the gospel with him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is only through faith in Christ that we can have true hope and peace.

Heavenly Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is by His blood that we have access to Your throne of grace. May experience Your healing, Your comfort, and Your unshakable hope. Surround him with Your love and remind him that he is never alone, for You are with him always (Matthew 28:20). We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness to complete the work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Amen.

We hear how much you love him and how heavy it is to watch someone you care about sink under the weight of hopelessness. When the darkness feels that thick, it can blot out the truth that a person’s life has value and purpose, no matter what the current circumstances scream. Thank you for standing with him in this.

One of the most practical things you can do right now is to gently, persistently encourage him to reach out beyond the two of you. Depression can make it hard to see any path forward, but a trusted doctor or a counselor is not a sign of failure, it’s a way to borrow someone else’s hope and clarity while his own is depleted. You might also look for small moments to name something specific you see in him: a character strength, a past kindness, a way he has weathered hard things before. It won't fix everything, but reminding him of who he is beneath the despair can be a steady anchor.

We are praying not only for his peace and protection, but that he will have the courage to accept genuine support and that God will place the right people, and the right doors, in his path. And we are praying for you, too, that you would be given wisdom and endurance as you love him through this.

Lord Jesus, please hold this man close. Silence the voices that tell him he is alone or without worth. Where hope has gone dim, let even a flicker of your light break through. Surround him with real, safe support, and give him the humility and courage to receive it. Provide what he needs and steady his heart. And be a calm presence for this woman who loves him, giving her patience and the right words. We ask this in your name, Jesus.

There is no hope in man, and well for this troubled soul if he has come to that bitter conclusion. Hopelessness in himself is the very soil in which the God of Hope plants His promises. You ask that God would quiet the darkness in his mind, yet know that the Almighty often permits a storm before He speaks His “Peace, be still.” The peace you long for him to know is not a truce with his own devices or a mere respite from sorrow; it is the peace which the blood of Jesus whispers within, a peace that the world cannot give. That peace is only found when the soul is brought to rest in Christ alone. Has he learned that there is no hope in his own strength, and turned to the One whose thoughts toward sinners are thoughts of peace through the atoning sacrifice? While you plead for him, plead chiefly this: that the Holy Spirit would strip him of every false refuge and bring him as a helpless sinner to the Cross. The great peace you desire for him is not emotion, but reconciliation with God. Until a man is at one with his Maker, his sorrows have a sting that no earthly comfort can extract.

Yet despair not, for the Lord Jesus is a Healer for hopeless cases. When the father cried out concerning his convulsed child, the case was desperate, but one word from Christ accomplished all. So pray that Christ would speak the word for your friend. Pray that he may hear the voice that wakes the dead and calms the raging sea. A mind stayed upon Jehovah, not upon circumstances, enjoys perfect peace even in the midnight of this world of care. If his will is brought to delight in God’s will, the fangs of the serpent are extracted from his sorrow. It is not the removal of trial, but the presence of the Saviour in the trial, that makes men sing in a dungeon. Are you asking for him to feel God’s presence? Then pray that he may turn from the doings of his own heart and seek the Lord while He may be found. The promise is to those who trust in Him: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.” Let that be your plea.

Meanwhile, take heed that your own affection does not overlook the greater peril. The most harrowing depression in this life is but a pinprick compared to an eternity driven from the Presence of God. Should he pass into the next world as one who is not God’s people, no human love can cross that chasm to drop a single drop of water on his tongue. If you love him deeply, love his immortal soul most of all. Be not content to ask only for his present comfort; labor in prayer that he may be born again, made a new creature in Christ Jesus. Then shall God’s thoughts of peace be fulfilled toward him, and that peace shall flow like a river until it melts into the ocean of eternal love. I shall unite with you in beseeching the Throne of Grace that hope may replace his fear, not as a passing morsel of worldly optimism, but as a good hope through believing in Jesus Christ. God’s promise may tarry, but it never fails. May the Lord grant him the courage to accept the help that comes through the Word, the Spirit, and the fellowship of God’s people, and may you both find your surest rest in doing the will of Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of a soul weighed down by despair and a heart that aches to see him lifted up. Yet remember, your Heavenly Father knows what you need before you ask, and He cares for His children even in their extremity of sorrow. He will not overlook one who cries out to Him. But the peace you long for this man to possess is not a mere quieting of the mind; it is the peace that Christ Himself gives: “My peace I give unto you.” That peace is not of this world, nor does it rest on shifting circumstances. It flows from being reconciled to God, from the hope of the Gospel, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Let us then pray not only for relief from his stress but for the true remedy, that he hears the Bridegroom’s voice and finds his hope in the One who promised eternal life before the world began. Encourage him with the word of faith, for faith comes by hearing. The darkness of depression tells terrible lies, but the God who cannot lie has declared his life precious. Ask the Lord to send him not just sympathetic friends, but those who will speak the truth in love and call him to courage, the boldness of a soul that trusts in God, not the despair that rails against heaven.

And as you pray for him, examine the foundation of your love. The deepest help you can give is to lead him to Christ and His Church, the true place of healing. There, in the communion of the saints, the God of peace will soon bruise Satan under our feet. May the Lord grant him repentance where needed, lift the fog of hopelessness, and fill him with the peace that surpasses all understanding, so that his life may find its purpose in the unshakeable hope of the Gospel. We entrust him to the mercy of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
