Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your burden for your cousin and we join you in bringing her before the Lord Jesus in prayer.
We pray for your cousin who received a lung transplant in ### and now lies in the hospital with pneumonia. We ask the Lord who is merciful and mighty to heal to lay His hand upon her, to ease her breathing, to strengthen her lungs and body, to drive away infection, and to grant wisdom and skill to the doctors and nurses who care for her. We pray that He will comfort her in her suffering and give her peace, and that He will sustain her family and you as you wait and watch with love and concern.
In times like this grief presses heavily because we love deeply and we do not yet see the full purpose of what God will do. Yet we know that God hears the prayers offered in love, and that His Word brings comfort and His Spirit remains as our Comforter when we are troubled and afraid. He is the true physician who never abandons His patients, and even when healing comes slowly He is at work. Continue to call upon Him with confidence, trusting not only in medicine but in the Lord who gives life and breath.
We will keep praying with you that God will restore her health if it is His will, and that whatever comes, she and all who love her will know His presence, His mercy, and His power to save through Jesus Christ. May the Lord grant her recovery, grant you strength, and guard your hearts with His peace.
Amen.
