Beloved of All
We are joining you in prayer for ### and his family, and we hear how heavy his burdens have become with pain in his legs, surgeries past and possibly ahead, sadness of mind from not being able to work, care for his family, and the uncertainty of his residency papers.
It is encouraging that he has begun to have faith in Jesus. The Scripture teaches that the name Jesus means Jehovah is salvation. That name tells His mission. He is not only one sent by God, He is called great and the Son of the Highest, the One God raised up as the power of salvation in the house of David. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. To believe that Jesus was sent is a beginning, but what he most needs is to know Him as the Lord Himself become our salvation, who came to save His people from their sins and to bring the forgiveness of sins through the tender mercy of God.
You asked for healing for his legs, and we will pray for that. When we bring a need for healing to the Lord, He reveals Himself as the Lord our Healer. He becomes what we need. The prophet Malachi said the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings, and the Gospels show Jesus laid His hands on every one of those who were brought to Him with various diseases and healed them, with the anointing of the Spirit upon Him. We will ask God for mercy on your cousin's knees and legs, for wisdom for doctors, for relief from pain and for strength to recover. At the same time we want to seek more than healing alone, we want him to meet the Healer Himself. Many came to Jesus only wanting to be healed, but the Lord wants to give Himself and a new life within. True wholeness comes when He fills the empty place in the heart, not only when the body is touched.
We also pray for his mind and heart in this season of sadness. The Scripture speaks of God visiting us like the dayspring from on high, like dawn breaking on those who sit in darkness, through His tender mercy. That visit brings knowledge of salvation and remission of sins, and it turns heaviness into rejoicing because God has provided salvation. We will ask the Lord to lift the weight of discouragement, to guard his thoughts, to give him peace and hope as he trusts Christ, and to surround his family with comfort and provision while he cannot work.
We will bring his family and his practical need for residency papers before the Lord as well. God sees every detail of our lives and cares about the needs that weigh on a family. We will ask for favor, for a clear path through the process, and for a miracle as God opens doors that no man can open.
Above all we join you in praying for a supernatural encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. The good news is that the salvation God prepared was not for one people only. Simeon took the infant Jesus in his arms and blessed God saying his eyes had seen God's salvation prepared before the face of all peoples, a light to lighten the Gentiles and the glory of Israel. That light is for your cousin too. As with Zacchaeus, Jesus still says today salvation has come to this house when a heart turns to Him in faith and becomes a true child of Abraham through faith. We pray that your cousin will see Jesus as He is, the Savior, and put his full trust in Him alone for eternal life.
Concerning prayer to Saint Michael, we understand the desire for protection in spiritual battle, but Scripture teaches us to pray directly to God the Father through Jesus Christ alone. Jesus is our one mediator and intercessor, and angels are servants of God who do His will, not those to whom we pray. So we will not pray to an angel, but we will pray to the Lord Himself for your cousin's protection, deliverance from evil, and peace, asking God to guard him and his family by His own power.
Let us pray together: Father in heaven, we come to You in the name of Jesus, Jehovah is salvation. We ask for Your mercy on this man. Touch his legs and knees, bring healing according to Your will, ease his pain and guide every medical decision. Lift the sadness from his mind, visit him with Your tender mercy as the morning light visits those in darkness, and give him and his family joy, peace, and daily provision. Open the way for his documents to be granted if it is Your will, and show him Your power and kindness. Most of all, reveal Jesus to him as the Son of the Highest and the Savior from sin, that he may receive forgiveness and new life and know You as his Healer and his salvation. Guard him and his family from all evil. We ask this in the saving name of Jesus, amen.
