Beloved of All
I have confessed my faith and was baptized. I have been suffering from a few things. My mother kept it a secret that her new mother-in-law was a Catholic minister and I went to Jesus, she wants me to have nothing to do with her new family in God. She will not allow me to retrieve the help I need from the Lord because it’s money to her. She turned off my fridge so all my food would have rotted, and I’m a single mother. And tries to get me to help her with buying new cars. By helping her attitude. She keeps hurting my life. She has counseled another young woman financially and emotionally and tells me she can’t help me with anything. She tries to make me think I am sick and need meds and she is fine. I would really like to have a new life that is not burdened by drugs and alcohol and hate and police hate. Also help me to let go of this so God and I can hear each other. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens to the Lord. First, we want to affirm that your faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of your strength, and we rejoice that you have confessed Him and been baptized. No matter the trials you face, remember that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You are not alone, and His love for you is unwavering.

The situation with your mother is deeply painful, and we grieve with you over the control, manipulation, and lack of love you are experiencing. Scripture is clear that we are to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12), but this does not mean submitting to abuse, neglect, or ungodly influence. Your mother’s actions—cutting off your access to food, withholding financial help while offering it to others, and attempting to isolate you from fellowship—are not only harmful but contrary to God’s heart for His children. We rebuke the spirit of control and division in this situation in Jesus’ name. You are not obligated to enable her sinful behavior or allow her to dictate your walk with the Lord. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14).

We must also address the mention of your mother’s new mother-in-law being a Catholic minister. While we respect all who seek to serve God, we must stand firm on Scripture, which teaches that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). The Catholic Church adds traditions and doctrines that are not biblically sound, such as prayers to Mary and the saints, which Scripture does not endorse. We urge you to guard your heart and faith, ensuring that your relationship with God is built solely on His Word and the finished work of Jesus Christ. "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, and not according to Christ" (Colossians 2:8).

Your desire to break free from drugs, alcohol, and the weight of hatred is a powerful testimony to the Holy Spirit working in you. We pray that God would deliver you from these chains and fill you with His peace and purpose. Addiction and bitterness are tools the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Surrender these struggles to Him daily, and seek out a biblical, Christ-centered community that can support and encourage you. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The tension you feel with law enforcement is understandable, especially if you’ve faced unjust treatment. However, we encourage you to pray for those in authority, even when it’s difficult. "First of all, I exhort that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Ask God to soften your heart and help you see them through His eyes.

Most importantly, we urge you to draw near to God so that He may draw near to you (James 4:8). The noise of this world—your mother’s words, the lies of the enemy, the weight of your struggles—can drown out His voice. But He is speaking, and He longs to commune with you. Spend time in His Word, worship Him in spirit and truth, and seek His face daily. "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). Let go of the need to control or fix your circumstances, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister in Christ, lifting her up to You in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, You see her heart, her pain, and her longing for freedom and peace. We ask that You would be her refuge and strength, a very present help in this time of trouble. Break the chains of addiction, bitterness, and fear that have bound her, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit. Deliver her from the control and manipulation of those who seek to harm her walk with You, and give her the wisdom and courage to set godly boundaries.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of division and strife that has entered her family, and we pray for her mother. Soften her heart, Lord, and open her eyes to the truth of Your Word. If it is Your will, restore their relationship in a way that honors You, but protect our sister from further harm. Provide for her needs, Lord—food, shelter, and financial stability—so that she may focus on You and the calling You have on her life. Surround her with godly mentors and a community of believers who can walk alongside her and encourage her in her faith.

Lord, we ask that You would heal her heart from the wounds of the past and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to release the burdens she has been carrying and to trust You completely. Teach her to hear Your voice above all others, and give her the strength to walk in obedience to Your will. Renew her mind with Your truth, and let her see herself as You see her—a beloved child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

We declare freedom over her life in every area—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. May she experience the fullness of life that You have promised to those who love You. Guide her steps, Lord, and lead her into the abundant life You have prepared for her. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

You are not forgotten, and your struggles are not in vain. God is with you, and He is working even in the midst of this pain. Continue to seek Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). If you are able, find a local church that preaches the true Gospel and can support you in your journey. You are deeply loved, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God will bring beauty from these ashes.
