Beloved of All
Dear Lord, thank you for your goodness. I pray for good rest, for my wife’s health for her, for protection for ###, for financial favor and a cost effective solution to my car issue, and against lustful thoughts

We join you in thanking our good Father for His goodness, for every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning James 1:17. We praise Him with you and we bring your requests before His throne together in Jesus name.

We lift up your need for good rest. We pray the Lord will grant you peaceful sleep and renewal, for He gives sleep to His beloved Psalm 127:2 and Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We also pray for your wife's health, thanking God for the gift of marriage as He designed it to be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We ask Him to strengthen and heal her, for He is the Lord who heals us Exodus 15:26 and who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases Psalm 103:3. We pray for protection over your loved one whose name was redacted for privacy, that the Lord would be a refuge and fortress Psalm 91:2 and that He will keep you from all evil, He will keep your soul Psalm 121:7. We also bring your financial needs and the car issue before Him, asking for favor and wisdom and a cost effective solution, trusting that our God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and as we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, all these things will be given to us as well Matthew 6:33.

We want to address with love and truth what you shared about lustful thoughts. This is an important struggle to bring into the light, for everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. Lustful thoughts are not harmless, they dishonor God, dishonor your marriage covenant, and can lead to further sin. Scripture calls us to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to flee youthful lusts and follow righteousness, faith, love, and peace 2 Timothy 2:22. We encourage you to make a covenant with your eyes as Job did Job 31:1, to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to fill your mind with whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure Philippians 4:8. God is faithful, and He will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13. We urge you to stay in the Word, in prayer, and in honest accountability with a trusted believing brother, and to turn quickly from any image, media, or situation that stirs lust.

We also noticed your prayer was addressed to Dear Lord without mentioning the name of Jesus Christ. We gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. It is by His blood and His name that our prayers are heard, so we always pray in the name of Jesus.

We pray together now, Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy that endures forever. We ask in the name of Jesus that You grant our brother deep and peaceful rest, that You would let him lie down in peace and sleep, for You alone make him dwell in safety Psalm 4:8. Touch his wife with Your healing hand, strengthen her body and encourage her heart. Place Your hedge of protection around his loved one and around his whole household, keep them from harm and lead them in Your ways. Provide for his financial needs, grant wisdom and favor, and open the door to an honest and cost effective solution for his car that he may be a good steward of what You have provided. Father, forgive him for lustful thoughts and cleanse his heart, create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him Psalm 51:10, help him to take every thought captive and to walk in purity and faithfulness to You and to his wife. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us and for starting with thankfulness. We hear how much you are carrying at once, wanting real rest, caring about your wife's health, wanting protection for your loved one, feeling pressure over finances and your car, and wanting to walk clean before the Lord in your thoughts.

We are joining you in prayer for each of these, and we especially hear your desire for rest and for your wife's wellbeing. When sleep or health concerns linger it can wear on everything else, so alongside prayer we gently encourage you to keep your own doctor and your wife's doctor in the loop about what you are both experiencing.

For the practical pressures, one small next step that often helps is getting a clear picture before deciding. For the car, that might mean a second estimate from a trusted shop or asking someone at church if they know a reliable mechanic who gives fair pricing. For finances more broadly, a pastor or a trusted financial counselor at a local church or community agency can sometimes help you think through options without carrying it alone.

And for the battle with lustful thoughts, you are not alone in that struggle. Many men find it helps to not wait until temptation is strong, but to plan ahead and walk with one trusted, mature brother who will keep confidences and check in honestly.

Father, thank You for Your goodness to this brother and his family. We ask You to give him and his wife restorative rest and care for her health, to watch over the one he named for protection, to provide wisdom and a workable, cost effective way forward for his car and finances, and to strengthen him to turn from what tempts him and walk in purity. Lead him day by day and give him peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is good that you have brought these matters before the Lord with thanksgiving for His goodness, for His thoughts toward His people are constant, kind, wise, tender and gracious, and how precious also are His thoughts unto us.

I join you in prayer and commend these petitions to our heavenly Father who hears and knows all our thoughts.

For good rest, we ask the Lord to grant you that sleep which He gives to His beloved, to quiet the distracting thoughts that fill the mind and to keep you near to Himself, for to be still with Him when you lie down and when you awake is itself a mercy. May He calm your spirit and renew your strength.

For your wife, we ask the Great Physician to lay His healing hand upon her. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and even the leaves of the tree of life are for healing. We pray that He would restore her health, ease every pain, and let her feel His presence as her comfort and strength.

For the one you have named for protection, we ask the Lord to keep and cover that life under the shadow of His wings, to watch over every step and to deliver from all evil. May His wise and perfect thoughts, which are higher than our thoughts as the heavens are higher than the earth, order all things for good.

For financial favor and for your car, we bring your need before Him who knows your frame and your circumstances. We pray for His gracious provision, for wisdom to find a cost effective and honest solution, and for contentment to trust His hand whether He gives abundantly or teaches us to wait upon Him. He who numbers our wants will not withhold what is needful.

And against lustful thoughts, we pray earnestly for cleansing and victory. Our thoughts must be conformed to God's thoughts if we are to walk with Him, for His ways are not our ways. Such thoughts cannot give us fellowship with Him, and they wound the soul. There is healing in Christ, not only in His great acts but in the least thing about Him, and His gospel has power to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We pray that He would pardon what is past and heal what is present, that He would keep your eyes fixed upon Christ your familiar Friend who lives and perceives the thoughts of the heart, and that by prayer and by the Word you may overcome evil and be kept pure. May you seek first the healing of the soul, and then the strength to serve Him with a clean conscience.

May the Lord grant you assurance of forgiveness through the blood of Christ, healing where you are wounded, peace in your home, provision in your need, and a mind stayed upon Him. We ask this trusting not in our own worth but in the mercy of Jesus our Redeemer, who is able to heal and willing to save.
