Prayer request

Beloved of All
Dear Lord, thank you for your goodness. I pray for good rest, for my wife’s cyst to dissolve and for health for her, for protection for ###, and against lustful thoughts

We join you in thanking the Lord for His goodness and we lift your requests together before Him in Jesus' name. We are grateful for your heart that desires rest, health for your wife, protection for your loved one whose name was redacted for privacy, and victory over lustful thoughts.

We praise God for the gift of marriage and we affirm your marriage as honorable and good in His sight. Marriage is to be held in honor among all and the marriage bed undefiled, as we read in Hebrews 13:4. It is beautiful that you are interceding for your wife's health. We pray with you for her healing and for the cyst to dissolve. The Lord is our healer and He cares for every part of our bodies. As it is written, Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:2-3, and But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed in Isaiah 53:5. We also remember that He gives rest to His beloved, for He gives sleep to his beloved in Psalm 127:2, and Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest in Matthew 11:28. We ask Him to grant you deep, peaceful and restorative rest, free from anxiety, as you cast your cares on Him, for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7.

We also join you in praying for protection for your loved one. We ask the Lord to be a refuge and fortress, as He promises in Psalm 91:1-2, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. And we trust that the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one in 2 Thessalonians 3:3.

We want to lovingly and firmly address your struggle against lustful thoughts, for this is a battle many face and God calls us to purity. Jesus taught, everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart in Matthew 5:28. Lustful thoughts, when entertained, are sin and they do not align with God's will for us, whether we are married or single. Within marriage, sexual intimacy is holy and good, but lust that objectifies others or desires what God has not given us defiles the heart. Scripture exhorts us to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ in 2 Corinthians 10:5. We are to fix our minds on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report in Philippians 4:8. We encourage you to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind in Romans 12:2, by hiding His word in your heart that you might not sin against Him in Psalm 119:11, by making no provision for the flesh, and by seeking accountability with a trusted Christian brother, confessing and turning from sin quickly, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us in Psalm 51:10 is our daily cry, and as we submit to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us in James 4:7.

We noticed you addressed your prayer to Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. To be saved we must confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead in Romans 10:9. It is by His shed blood that our prayers are heard and our sins forgiven, so we always come boldly before the throne of grace in His name.

We now pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with thanksgiving for Your goodness and mercy. We ask You to grant our brother good, deep and peaceful rest, to quiet his mind and renew his strength. We lift up his wife to You, asking for Your healing hand upon her, that You would cause the cyst to dissolve and restore her to full health according to Your will, for You are the Lord who heals us. We place his loved one into Your hands and ask for Your divine protection, that You would guard and keep this person from all harm and evil, and surround them with Your angels. We confess before You the struggle with lustful thoughts and ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him. Help him to take every thought captive to Christ, to flee from temptation, to fix his eyes on Jesus, and to walk in purity and in honor toward his wife and toward all people. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may bear the fruit of self-control and live in a way that honors his marriage covenant. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in the Word, to rest in His promises, to love your wife faithfully and cherish your marriage as a picture of Christ's love for the church, and to walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has purchased for you. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it in 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Thank you for bringing these honest requests to the Lord and to us. We hear the weight you are carrying, longing for real rest, loving your wife through a health worry, wanting protection for someone dear to you, and wanting to walk clean before God in your thought life.

We are praying with you for deep, restorative sleep. When rest has been broken for a while everything feels heavier, so we pray God quiets your mind at night and renews your strength.

For your wife, we join you in asking God for healing and for that cyst to resolve. Please keep her medical team involved and let them know how she is doing, so they can guide her care well while we keep praying for her health and peace.

We also lift up ### for protection, asking God to watch over him and keep him safe in the days ahead.

And thank you for naming the battle with lustful thoughts so plainly. That honesty matters. Those thoughts often grow when we are tired, stressed, or lingering on images we were not meant to hold onto. A small practical help many men find useful is to notice early when a thought starts to pull, turn away quickly and bring it to Jesus in that moment, and to have one trusted brother who knows your struggle and can check in with you honestly.

Father, we bring our brother before You in Jesus name, ask for Your rest over him, Your healing touch for his wife, Your protection over ###, and Your strength to walk in purity with a clear mind. Lead him in Your peace and keep him close to You. Amen.

Your thankfulness for the goodness of the Lord is a right and comely beginning, for every good gift cometh from His hand and gratitude keeps the heart near to Him.

We join you in prayer for that good rest which you seek. Sleep is the gift of God, and not a man would close his eyes did not God put His fingers on His eyelids. It is written, so He giveth His beloved sleep. May the Lord grant you that sleep of contentment and of security which belongs to those who rest in Christ, that when you lie down your thoughts may be stayed upon Him, and when you awake you may still be with Him.

We bring before the Lord your dear wife and the affliction of the cyst. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. As He looked upon His people in love before the world was, so He still looks upon them in mercy. We pray that it may please Him in His wisdom to cause the cyst to dissolve, to restore her to health and strength, and to make her to rejoice in His goodness. Whether He heals by His immediate hand or by means, we leave to His perfect will, knowing His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and all His ways are wise and gracious.

For the one whose name you have entrusted to us, we ask the Lord's keeping. He is the Divine Protector who neither slumbers nor sleeps in His watch over His own. May He hedge about this loved one with His constant, kind and tender care, and keep from all evil.

And concerning the struggle against lustful thoughts, you do well to bring it into the light in prayer. Every night before they go to bed, some feel such consciousness of weakness that where others think nothing of it, they dare not trust themselves. That very sense of weakness is a call to look to Christ. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, saith the Lord, and our thoughts must be conformed to His thoughts if we would have fellowship with Him. His thoughts toward us are constant, kind, wise and gracious. Pray that He would set His pure and precious thoughts before your mind, that you may be kept near to Him, and that by His Spirit you may be enabled to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Flee the occasions of temptation, feed upon the Word, and look often to the healing leaves of that tree of life which can change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

May the Lord hear your prayer, forgive your sins through the blood of Christ, heal and keep you and yours, and give you to know more of the height and depth of His precious thoughts toward you in Jesus Christ our Lord.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
