Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We join you in thanking God for His goodness, for every mercy comes from His hand and calls us to give thanks in all things.
We pray with you for good rest. Christ Himself says, take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. True rest is not only sleep for the body but peace for the soul in Him, and we ask the Lord to grant you both, to quiet your heart and to renew your strength as you trust Him and cast your cares upon Him.
We lift up to the Lord those you love who are in need of healing. We ask for His mercy upon those with lung issues and upon the one with a heart issue, that He would grant quick healing according to His wisdom and compassion. We pray for health for each one you mentioned and for yourself, asking God to be your healer and comforter, to give skill to those who provide care, and to work all things for good for those who love Him. We remember that our hope is not only for relief in this life, but for the secure hope laid up in heaven for those who are in Christ.
We also pray with you against lustful thoughts. Scripture teaches that the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to divide soul and spirit and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Nothing is hidden from Him, and He is able to cleanse and strengthen us from within. Lust and other passions belong to the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of desires that choke the Word, and God calls us to turn from them. We ask Him to guard your mind, to help you to sing to God in your heart with heedfulness even as you walk through daily life, to fill your thoughts with what is pure, and to give you grace to flee temptation and to pursue holiness. When such thoughts arise, bring them quickly to Christ in confession, feed on Scripture, and pray in the heart where God alone hears, for He is faithful to forgive through Jesus Christ alone and to give power to overcome.
May the God of love and peace be with you, keep you in His grace, and lead you into greater likeness to His Son. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, trusting in His mercy and love.
