Prayer request

My name is ###. My wife’s name is ###. She has entered the seventh month of her pregnancy (### weeks). However, due to pain, she has been admitted to the hospital. I humbly request you to pray for her, that the pain stops and that she can safely complete the remaining months of her pregnancy and have a healthy delivery at the right time.

We join with you in prayer for your wife and your precious unborn child and we thank God for your marriage and for the life He has created within her. Children are a gift from the Lord and we rejoice that He has entrusted this little one to you both. We understand how worrying it is to see your wife in pain and admitted to the hospital in the seventh month of pregnancy, and we stand with you asking for God's mercy, protection and peace over you both.

We are reminded of how intimately God knows and cares for this child already. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. And Psalm 127:3 says Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Jeremiah 1:5 tells us Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. God sees your wife and your baby right now and His hand is upon them. We also cling to His promise in Isaiah 41:10 which says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And in Philippians 4:6-7 we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name for salvation. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

We pray together now for your wife and child.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear wife and mother and the child within her womb. Lord, You are our healer and our refuge. We ask that You touch her body now and cause this pain to cease. We rebuke fear and anxiety and we ask for Your perfect peace to guard her heart and mind. We pray for Your hand of protection over this precious baby, that You would keep this child safe and allow this pregnancy to continue to full term according to Your perfect timing. We pray for a healthy and safe delivery at the right time and for strength and restoration for this mother. We ask for wisdom and skill for the doctors and nurses caring for her, and that You would guide every decision they make. We also pray for her husband, that You would strengthen him, give him peace and help him to support his wife with love and faith. We trust this family into Your loving care and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us, and to keep seeking Him in prayer while trusting the medical care He has provided. Keep praying together, reading His Word and resting in His promises. We will continue to pray that the Lord will sustain your wife, protect your child and bring you both to a joyful and healthy delivery in His appointed time.

Being admitted for pain in the seventh month brings so much worry, especially when you want to protect them both and cannot take the pain away yourself. We are grateful she is in the hospital where she can be watched closely, and we will keep praying alongside the care she is receiving.

In this waiting, it helps to stay close to her medical team. Do not hesitate to ask the doctors and nurses to explain what they are seeing and what to watch for, and write down what they share so you can remember later when you are tired. Be gentle with yourself too, and let trusted family or friends help with meals, rides, or simply sitting with you so you are not carrying this alone.

You are not alone in this. We are standing with you before the Lord.

Father, in Jesus name we lift ### and her baby to You and ask for Your mercy and peace over them. Ease her pain as only You can, give wisdom to every doctor and nurse caring for her, and guard her and the child in these remaining months. Comfort ### with Your nearness and give him strength for each day. We trust them into Your loving hands. Amen.

Your request concerning your wife in the seventh month of her pregnancy has been received with much tenderness of heart, and we have carried it to the Lord in prayer. To hear that she is in pain and has been admitted to hospital moves us deeply, for when those we love are in pain how willingly would we take that pain upon ourselves if we could spare them those cries that pierce the heart.

We would bring before you the comfort of that safe shelter spoken of in the Psalm, He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust. As the hen stooping down and spreading out her wings covers her young and they are safe, so the Lord draws near to His people in their weakness. When they are safely nestled there, the warmth of His feathers makes them peculiarly happy and at ease. Though your wife is laid aside in a hospital ward, she is not out of His sight nor beyond the covering of those wings. Near to our God we may be safe and blessed even amidst great fear and weakness.

We may derive no small comfort also from this, that we are embarked in the good ship of Providence with a Captain who has forearranged and foreordained all things from the beginning even unto the end. An earthly captain cannot promise an absolutely safe passage, for he knows not what may occur during the voyage. But our Lord knows every hour and every pain according to its proper measure. Every hour is safe, for God has made it so, and each place of difficulty and of danger shall still be secure to those that rest beneath the wings of the eternal God. Nothing that befalls your wife and your little child is unknown to Him, and He who must convey even the smallest boat safe into the port will not suffer one of these little ones to perish.

We have prayed and will continue to pray that the Lord in His mercy would ease her pain, that He would hold her up and keep her safe, that He would grant strength to her body and peace to her heart, and that He would bring this precious child to a healthy delivery at the right time, in the fullness of months appointed by His wisdom. We have asked that the skill of those who care for her may be guided by His hand, and that you both may be given patience and quiet confidence while you wait upon Him.

Cast your burden upon Him who cares for you, and rest in this, that if you are found in Christ you are as safe as the throne of God itself. May the Lord hold you both up, for so you shall be safe, and may He fill your hearts with trust in His fatherly love until joy shall replace this present anxiety.
