Prayer request

We have heard your request about fear for the future, about hunger and having enough food, about financial worry, and your desire for lasting happiness, and we join together with you in prayer before our heavenly Father.

We understand how heavy worry about provision can feel, but Scripture gently corrects us and calls us to trust God rather than be consumed by anxiety. Jesus taught us, Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33. And again, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We are also reminded to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7.

We want to encourage you that God is a faithful provider. We have seen in Scripture the promise, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 and I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25. He does not promise that we will never face hard days, but He promises to be with us and to provide what we truly need as we walk faithfully with Him, working diligently and stewarding what He gives us.

We also hear your longing to be happy. True and lasting joy is not found in circumstances or in financial security alone, but in knowing God and walking in His presence. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more. Psalm 16:11. When we seek Him first, He gives a peace and contentment that remains even when finances are tight.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can come boldly in prayer. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is through Jesus that our worries are heard and our future is secure.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the fear about the future, the anxiety about food and finances, and the deep desire for happiness. We ask You to rebuke the spirit of worry and replace it with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory, give wisdom to steward finances well, open doors for work and provision, and let there be no hunger that goes unmet. Teach us all to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will add what we need. Fill this heart with true joy that comes from knowing You, and help this dear one to know Jesus more deeply as Savior and Lord and to rest in His care. We ask that worry would go away and be replaced by confident trust in Your faithful hand, today and for all the days to come. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing these needs to God daily with thanksgiving, to remain diligent in the work He has given you to do, to seek wise counsel and community in a local Bible believing church, and to remember that each day has enough trouble of its own, so we trust Him one day at a time. Matthew 6:34. He cares for you and He hears you when you call on Him through Jesus.

Thank you for sharing what is on your heart. Worrying about having enough food and money for the future is a heavy burden to carry, and it makes sense you want that worry to lift so you can feel at peace and happy again.

We hear how much you want this anxiety about provision to be gone for good. When basic needs feel uncertain, thoughts about tomorrow can circle and make it hard to rest today. You are not alone in feeling that way, and you matter to us and to God.

It can help not to carry this by yourself. One gentle next step could be to talk with someone nearby you trust, such as a pastor or a caring person at a local church or community food ministry, who can help you look at practical support for food and finances and walk with you as you make a plan for the days ahead. Having another person alongside you can make the future feel less overwhelming.

We are keeping you in prayer and we care about what you are facing.

Father, in Jesus name we lift our friend to You. You see the worry about hunger and finances and the deep desire for lasting peace and joy. We ask for Your steady presence, for wisdom for each decision, and for daily provision. Lead our friend to helpful people and resources, and give rest to their heart as they trust You one day at a time. In Jesus name, amen.

I am sorry, I know I can't help, but I am sorry.

I pray that you can get food, and that Jesus can give you happiness, if it's not against his will, in Jesus name, amen!

Your request concerning hunger and worry over finances and the desire to be happy has been heard, and we have brought it before the Lord in prayer.

The Scriptures teach us that happiness lies more in the mind than in the circumstances in which we are found, and that the man within has far more to do with his own joy or sorrow than anything outside of him has. He that has joy on his barn floor may see it bare, he that has joy in his wine vats may see them dry, but he that has joy in God has a joy that remains when all else fails. There is no monotony in real joy, and in living joy there is exhilaration which the world cannot give.

You speak of worrying about food for the future. The feeding of the physical frame engrosses much care, but do not neglect the supply of spiritual food, for your immortal soul is worth far more than the body which will soon pass away. Our Lord reminds us not to be anxious about what we shall eat or what we shall drink, for your Father knows that you have need of these things. We should be more contented with what is really all that we need, namely having food and clothes, having neither poverty nor riches, and learning to cast our care upon Him who cares for us.

I have found, and many have found with me, that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. To tell yourself about it over and over, when that anxiety is confined to yourself, brings no good. But to tell it to the Lord in prayer, to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, brings peace. Joy in the Lord is the cure for discord within, for it is the concord of the soul with the joy of Heaven. The apostle says, Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice. It is not only joy, but joy over again, joy heaped upon joy, and we cannot have too much of this joy in the Lord, for the great Jehovah is our exceeding joy.

What is joy in God? It is to joy even that there is a God, to joy in His power for He can help us, to joy in His faithfulness for He cannot fail us, to joy in His immutability for He changes not and therefore we are not consumed. Suppose you have nothing in the house but God, nothing to rely upon but God, nothing you can call your own but God, still you may joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the reconciliation. When we can joy in nothing else, we can joy in Him.

We have prayed for you, that God would graciously provide for your daily bread according to His goodness, that He would lift from you the burden of anxious thought about the future, and that He would give you that quintessence of happiness which is to be filled with joy and peace through believing. May He teach you to rejoice in the Lord always, not only when the harvest is full, but with the joy of expectation and the joy of answered prayer, knowing that His gracious presence is the dawn of our joy. May you look to Jesus and put your trust in Him alone, and find there a sufficient wellspring of joy, if you have nothing else.

May the Lord make Himself your joy, the whole of your joy, and let this joy absorb your every thought. May you be kept in His peace, supplied by His hand day by day, and established in that permanent joy whose source never fails, for it is grounded in an immutable Christ.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
