Your heart’s cry for a relationship with God that never fades is one He honors. That longing for unbroken joy in Him is actually the Spirit drawing you deeper, and He will be faithful to complete what He started.
What you are facing right now is a test of that very faith. When the cupboards are bare and the days feel uncertain, it is easy to wonder if God sees. But faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It reaches beyond the empty shelves and lays hold of the One who fed His people in the wilderness. Right now you are learning what it means to walk one step at a time, not knowing exactly how provision will come but trusting the One who led you this far. That is the same walk Abraham took, and even when he stumbled, God accounted his faith as righteousness. So do not be ashamed of the struggle; God uses poverty and pressure to make us rich in faith and heirs of a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
The enemy wants you to give up, to let bitterness choke your hope. But you said it yourself: you want to keep fighting no matter what the devil tries to do. That is a living faith. It is not a faith of mere words. Real faith clings to Christ when the feelings of happiness seem distant, and it proves itself by patient endurance. It takes greater faith to hold on when the pain does not lift and when tomorrow holds no earthly guarantee. Some saints, by faith, conquered kingdoms and shut the mouths of lions. Others, by that same faith, were tortured and refused to accept release so that they might gain a better resurrection. The same God walked with them all. He will walk with you through loss and empty days.
Your brother’s need and the shortage of food are heavy. God knows. He chose the poor of this world to be rich in faith precisely because poverty strips away every illusion that we can trust in ourselves. That does not make the hunger less real, and you should cry out to the Lord for daily bread as He taught us. Pray, and when you are able, act. A living faith moves us to share what we have, even if it is little, and to love the family He has placed around us. Faith without works is dead, but even the smallest act of care done in Jesus’ name proves the faith is genuine. And while you do what you can, remember that Jesus is the author and finisher of your faith. He will carry to completion what He began. You are not holding on by your own strength; He is holding you.
Patience grows as we fix our eyes on Him. Read His Word to build yourself up in that most holy faith. Let the stories of how God sustained His people sink deep into your heart. The more you understand His faithfulness, the more you will trust Him when the provision has not yet arrived. There is no promise of tomorrow for any of us, but the everlasting arms are beneath you today. That is enough. Press on, not in a forced happiness that denies pain, but in a steady hope that Jesus has overcome the world and will never leave you. Your relationship with Him is secure, not because you feel it fully now, but because He is faithful. May He grant your family the tangible provision you need, and may He strengthen you with patience to endure and a faith that shines in the darkness.
