Prayer request

My name is ### and my wife’s name is ###. She is five months pregnant, and unfortunately, her cervix has opened about one finger and bleeding. The doctor told us that we need God’s miracle and that if the pregnancy can continue for a few more weeks, there may be a chance for the baby to survive. Please pray for my wife ### and our baby. Please pray that our Lord Jesus will perform a miracle, close ###’s cervix, keep it closed and strong throughout the pregnancy, and allow it to open only at the time of delivery when she reaches nine months. Please pray for God’s protection, healing, strength, and grace over ### and our unborn baby. We believe in the power of Jesus and trust in His miracle.

We have heard your request and we are joining you together before the throne of grace with urgency and with hope for your wife and your unborn child in this very fragile time at five months. We are moved by your faith and your love for your wife and your baby, and we honor your marriage and the precious life God has entrusted to you both.

We believe with you that every child is known and formed by God and that life in the womb is sacred and deeply valued by Him. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:13-14 and Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3 and Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Jeremiah 1:5 remind us that your baby is already fully known and loved by God, and He is able to keep and sustain that life.

We also hear the seriousness of what the doctor has shared, the cervix opened and the bleeding, and we understand how frightening this is. We want to encourage you to continue to follow the wisdom and care of the medical team God has provided while we look to the Lord as the Great Physician who alone can do what is impossible for man. But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26 and But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17 give us confidence that God is able to stop the bleeding, to close and strengthen the cervix and to keep it closed and secure until the full time for delivery. We also cling to Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 and we pray that peace will guard both of your hearts as you wait on Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We now lift your wife and your baby to our Father in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come boldly before Your throne of grace and we lift up this dear wife and mother and the precious unborn baby You have created. Lord, You see the cervix that has opened and the bleeding that has begun, and You know the fear and helplessness this husband and wife are feeling. We ask for Your miracle now. In Jesus name we ask You to stop the bleeding completely, to close the cervix, to make it strong and firm and to keep it closed throughout these coming months. Let it open only at the appointed time for a safe and full term delivery at nine months. We speak life and protection over this child, knit together perfectly in the womb, and we ask for Your healing and strengthening power over the mother's body, her womb, her cervix, and her whole being. Pour out Your grace and strength upon her to rest and be sustained, take away fear and fill her with Your perfect peace. Sustain this baby, cause this baby to grow and be nourished and be kept safe in Your hands until the day You have ordained for birth. We thank You that You are the giver of life and that nothing is too hard for You. Let Your will be done and let this testimony bring glory to Jesus. We pray this in the saving and healing name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our access to the Father, amen.

We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting the Lord to keep His hand upon your wife and your child. We encourage you to rest in His promises day by day, to lean on each other in love, and to keep your eyes on Jesus who loves this family and this little one even more than you do. We thank you for letting us pray with you and we believe God hears and is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or think.

We know these weeks of waiting and watching can feel so long, and we are asking God to give you both His peace and grace day by day.

In this uncertain time it helps to stay very closely connected to your medical team. We encourage you to follow their guidance closely and to reach out to them right away with any change or concern, while we continue to ask the Lord for His healing and mercy over them and over you.

Father, we lift ### and her precious baby to You. We ask for Your protection over them both, for healing and strength for ###, and for Your hand to keep this baby safe. Give ### and ### comfort, wisdom and steady hope as they trust You, and guide the doctors caring for them. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and we join you in earnest prayer before the throne of grace for your wife and for the precious life within her womb.

We have heard of her great peril, the cervix opened and bleeding at five months, and the word of the physician that only the hand of God can preserve the child. This is indeed a hard case, but we bring every hard case before Him who is the great Miracle Worker. Remember that the power of Christ to save and to heal does not lie in the person to be healed, it lies wholly in Jesus Himself. He did nothing but speak, and the unclean spirit departed, and the sick were made whole. His word has omnipotent force about it still.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Those healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Christ is grand in emergencies and He displays His power spontaneously, without need of pressing or even prompting. When the power of the Lord is present to heal, the patient to be healed is very soon present too.

Let us pray together.

O Lord Jesus Christ, our heavenly Physician, to whom all power is given in heaven and in earth, look in mercy upon this mother and her unborn child. Thou art He that does great things for Thy people, with whom healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. We beseech Thee to lay Thy hand upon her, as Thou didst lay Thy hands upon the afflicted and they were made whole. Speak the word, O Lord, and let this cervix be closed and made strong. Keep it closed and firm throughout these coming months, and allow it to open only at the appointed time for delivery when the full term is come. Stay the bleeding, protect this child, preserve this mother, and grant strength and grace for each day.

We ask not because of any merit in us, but because of Thine own abundant mercy and the virtue that flows from Thee. Thou forgettest not the cry of the humble. Grant to these parents faith to trust Thee, whether Thou art pleased to work by sudden miracle or by Thy sustaining providence through the hands of physicians. Give wisdom to those who care for her, calm their fears, and let them know that Thou art the God of nature and the God of grace, who still keeps the world upon its axis and who keeps His children in His hand.

May this trial draw them nearer to Thyself, to find in Thee pardon and healing through Thy blood shed at Calvary. For Thou hast ascended on high and received gifts for men, and Thou art exalted to give repentance and remission of sins. Work faith in their hearts, and let them prove Thy power to save.

We commit this wife and this little one wholly to Thy care, trusting that what Thou doest is wise and good, and asking that Thou wouldst be pleased to grant life and health for the glory of Thy name. Hear us for Jesus sake. Amen.
