We have heard your request for your wife and your unborn child and we are joining you in prayer before the Lord for them both.
We do not come to God on our own worth or strength. We have a great High Priest who has passed into heaven itself, Jesus the Son of God, who sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high. He was not a priest after the order of Aaron, but a priest forever after a greater order, appointed by the Father Himself, and His priesthood never ends. He ministers in the true sanctuary which the Lord established, not one made by human hands. Because He lives forever He is able to save completely and to help fully in a way that no law, no rule, and no human effort ever could.
This High Priest is exactly the kind we need in a moment like this. He is holy, without evil or defilement, set apart from sinners and exalted above the heavens. He has no sin of His own to answer for, and He offered Himself once for all. Therefore He can represent us before the Father with perfect acceptance, and He continually intercedes for us. Scripture invites us for this very reason to hold fast to our confession of faith and to come with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
So we bring your wife and your child to that throne now. Our Father, who is the Most High God, possessor of heaven and earth, You see this mother and the precious life You have formed within her. You know the concern of the doctors that her cervix has opened and that this child needs more weeks to grow and become strong enough to live. We ask for Your mercy and Your miraculous sustaining power. Lay Your protecting hand upon her body, strengthen what is weak, and keep this child safe within the womb. Grant the doctors wisdom, grant this husband and wife peace that passes understanding, and guard their hearts from fear. We ask that You would carry this pregnancy forward according to Your will, preserve the life of both mother and child, and let Your power be seen. We entrust them to the care of Jesus our great High Priest who ever lives to pray for us, and we ask this in His name, amen.
Be assured we continue to pray with you, asking the Lord to keep you both in His perfect care and to give you strength day by day as you trust Him.
