Prayer request

We hear your heart and lift your concern to the Lord with great compassion. First, let us address the matter of your relationship. Scripture is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is not God’s design. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We encourage you to honor God in your relationship by pursuing marriage if this is a godly union, or by separating if it is not aligned with His will. Courtship should always have the goal of marriage, and marriage is the only context in which physical intimacy is blessed by God.

Now, let us turn to your boyfriend’s illness and financial burden. We serve a God who is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord our Healer, and Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord our Provider. The Word of God assures us in Psalm 34:17-19, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We also know that God cares deeply about our needs, as Jesus Himself said in Matthew 6:25-26, "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the air, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"

We rebuke the spirit of sickness and lack in the name of Jesus Christ. The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare healing over your boyfriend’s body and provision over his finances. We also encourage you both to seek wisdom in managing this situation. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Have you explored all available resources, such as community health clinics, payment plans, or assistance programs? Sometimes God provides through practical means as well as miracles.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up this sister and her boyfriend to You. We ask for Your healing touch to rest upon him. You are the Great Physician, and we believe in Your power to restore health. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and declare that by Your stripes, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Father, we also ask for Your provision in this time of financial need. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You. Open doors of opportunity, provide wisdom for managing bills, and surround them with people who can offer support. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding as they trust in You (Philippians 4:6-7).

Lord, we also ask for Your guidance in their relationship. If this is a union You have ordained, lead them into marriage according to Your will. If it is not, give them the strength and wisdom to honor You in their choices. Help them to flee from temptation and to live lives that glorify You in all things.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and love. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to stand on God’s promises and trust in His timing. Seek Him diligently in prayer and through His Word, and encourage your boyfriend to do the same. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, now is the time to share the gospel with him. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is the greatest gift, and it is the foundation for all of God’s blessings. May the Lord bless you both as you seek Him.

We’re so sorry your boyfriend is sick, and we hear the weight of the medical bills on top of your concern for him. That’s a heavy combination, and we’re grateful you reached out so we can pray alongside you.

While we lift him up, we want to gently encourage you both, if you haven’t yet, to have him see a doctor who can give a clear picture of what’s going on. And when it comes to the bills, please know that many hospitals and clinics have financial assistance programs or can work out a manageable payment plan, sometimes a simple conversation with their billing office opens a door. You might also check with local churches, St. Vincent de Paul societies, or community health centers that sometimes offer help with medical costs for people in need.

Mostly, we’re praying. God sees your boyfriend right now, knows every detail, and cares more deeply than we can put into words. We ask Him to bring healing to his body, wisdom to anyone treating him, and practical provision for the expenses. And we’re praying for you, too, that in the middle of the uncertainty you’d feel steadied and not alone.

Lord Jesus, please touch this man with Your restoring hand. Give his body the strength it needs to recover, and guide any doctors or nurses who care for him. Open up the financial help he needs, in ways that surprise them both. Wrap them in Your peace that doesn’t make sense in the middle of stressful days. We trust You with every part of this, body, finances, and hearts. In Your name, amen.

You have brought a heavy burden, and it is well that you have turned your thoughts towards the Lord in prayer. It is a sorrowful thing to see one dear to you laid low with sickness and burdened with poverty, and I join my supplications with yours that God would be pleased to raise your friend up from his bed of affliction and supply his temporal wants according to the riches of His grace. Yet, while we seek this lower healing, let us never forget that the deeper malady of the soul requires a more urgent cure. The leaves of the tree which are for the healing of the nations speak to us of our Lord Jesus Christ: even the least things about Him are full of healing virtue.

But mark this: when the Saviour dealt with the man sick of the palsy, He first pronounced that sweet word, "Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee." Pardon and healing were placed in happy conjunction. So must it be with every sinner. If your friend desires to be truly whole, let him not merely cry for the removal of his bodily pain, but let him seek with tears the forgiveness of his sins through the precious blood of Christ. I know not the state of his soul, but if he has been living apart from God, perhaps in the ways of the world or in a relationship that lacks the seal of sacred marriage, then this sickness is an alarm bell from heaven, bidding him to repent and turn to the Lord.

The healing power of Christ is now present as it was when He taught in Galilee. Let him hear the Word, believe on the Son of God, and both his soul and, if it be the Lord's will, his body shall experience that healing which makes a man whole indeed. May the Sun of Righteousness arise upon him with healing in His wings, and may you both be drawn nearer to the Great Physician, for He still breaks not the bruised reed nor quenches the smoking flax. To Him be glory for ever and ever.

Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your plea reaches this gathering of the church for a man who lies ill under the weight of bodily sickness, and for the burden of costs you both cannot meet. It is right to bring such needs before God, for He cares for the body He fashioned. Yet I must speak plainly, not because I wish to add to your affliction, but because true healing requires the surgeon’s cut as well as the balm. You call this man your “boyfriend,” and the Scripture teaches that the marriage bed is undefiled only within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. Whatever intimacy you share outside that bond, even under the guise of affection, is not a union God blesses but a fever of the soul that needs remedy. Do not imagine I say this to condemn you; I say it because I desire your rescue. The physician who refuses to touch the festering wound for fear of giving pain leaves the patient to die. Christ Himself ate with tax collectors and sinners, not to applaud their greed or lust, but to draw them out of the pit. He endured their company so that He might restore them to health. So now I sit with you in this grief, not to approve what Scripture condemns, but to offer the only cure that lasts.

You ask for prayer for his body, and I will not refuse. We will beseech the Lord who made heaven and earth to look upon this man’s suffering and, if it be His will, to raise him up from his sickbed. Remember, however, that even the Apostle Paul left Trophimus at Miletus sick. Not every illness is lifted, yet grace is always sufficient. Far more urgently, pray that this affliction becomes a door to eternal life for him and for you. Sickness often works what prosperity cannot: it silences the clamor of the world and forces the soul to examine its state before the Judge. Make provision for his body in whatever way charity allows, for the stomach’s sake and his frequent infirmities, but do not stop there. What gain is it if his flesh recovers and his spirit perishes? The life you now live is a dream that will soon vanish, and then the reality of judgment will dawn. I would not have either of you wake to eternal sorrow.

Let your friendship be of the kind that hinders the path to hell, not smooths it. A true friend weeps less over empty pockets than over a soul in danger. Lament, then, before God for his sickness, but lament even more for any sin that holds him, and you, captive. Often the mourning of the heart becomes the medicine that amends what instruction could not. I have seen trees stand through many blows of the axe, only to fall at last by a single stroke. So too the soul may resist ten sermons yet yield when it sees the tears of one who truly loves. Cease from the relationship as it stands, and if you would care for him, care first for his soul. Encourage him to seek the healing that Christ alone gives: forgiveness of sins and a life ordered by His commandments. Then your prayer for his body will ascend not from a partnership of disorder, but from the pure hands of a sister in Christ imploring mercy for a fellow sinner. May the Lord grant him recovery if it leads to repentance, and may He grant you both to walk in the light while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you.

I know the weight of concern you're carrying right now. When someone you care about is suffering and the path forward looks impossible, it's easy to feel helpless. But in moments like these, prayer is the most real and powerful thing you can do, not because you're informing God of a need He doesn't already know about, but because you're opening the door for Him to act freely in the situation.

Your heavenly Father already knows what your boyfriend needs before you even ask. He sees the sickness, He sees the financial burden, and He cares deeply about both. Prayer isn't about convincing a reluctant God to be generous. It's about coming to a loving Father who has been waiting for you to invite Him in, who desires to become exactly what you need in this moment. When healing is needed, He reveals Himself as the Lord our Healer.

The most important thing in all of this is the relationship itself. Come to God first for who He is, not just for what He can provide. There is a real danger in seeking the healing without the Healer, or reaching out for help without wanting the God who gives it. Make sure that as you pray, you're drawing near to Him with your whole heart, because everything else flows from that connection.

Also remember that prayer is as much about listening as it is about speaking. Sometimes God has purposes that we don't immediately understand. His answer may not always look the way we expect. His strength is often perfected in our weakness, and His grace proves sufficient even when the outcome we wanted doesn't come. That doesn't mean He isn't working. It means He may be doing something deeper than what we can see right now.

Practical help matters too. If you are part of a local body of believers, don't hesitate to bring this need before them. There is a real place for the elders to pray over the sick, anointing with oil in the name of the Lord, and the effectual, fervent prayer of righteous people accomplishes much. Let others stand with you in faith.

Above all, seek God's kingdom first and trust that He knows how to take care of the rest. Worry will only add weight to your soul that you were never meant to carry. Put God first, bring your needs honestly before Him, and rest in the truth that He loves your boyfriend even more than you do.

Let's pray together.

Father, we come to You right now because You alone are the healer and the provider. We ask that You would touch this man's body and bring restoration where there is sickness. We also ask that You would open a way for these medical bills to be met, because nothing is too hard for You. But more than just the physical needs, we ask that Your perfect will be done in his life and in this relationship. You know everything about this situation, and we trust Your love. We release our own plans and simply ask You to have Your way. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your boyfriend during this difficult time. It has been on our hearts to lift him up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch and provision. We prayed specifically for God’s mercy to surround him, for strength to fill his body, and for wisdom for those who may be caring for him. We also asked the Lord to open doors for financial provision so that the burden of medical bills would be lifted according to His riches in glory.

If God has answered this prayer—whether through healing, unexpected help, or peace in the midst of the struggle—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a blessing to others who are facing similar trials. If, however, the situation remains unchanged, please know that we are still here to stand with you. We invite you to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on his behalf with fresh faith and persistence.

May the Lord draw near to you both in this season, filling you with His comfort and hope. We trust that He is working even when we cannot see it, and we will keep praying until His will is made clear. May His grace sustain you, and may His peace guard your hearts as you continue to seek Him through Jesus Christ our Lord. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
