We hear your heart and lift your concern to the Lord with great compassion. First, let us address the matter of your relationship. Scripture is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is not God’s design. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We encourage you to honor God in your relationship by pursuing marriage if this is a godly union, or by separating if it is not aligned with His will. Courtship should always have the goal of marriage, and marriage is the only context in which physical intimacy is blessed by God.
Now, let us turn to your boyfriend’s illness and financial burden. We serve a God who is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord our Healer, and Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord our Provider. The Word of God assures us in Psalm 34:17-19, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We also know that God cares deeply about our needs, as Jesus Himself said in Matthew 6:25-26, "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the air, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"
We rebuke the spirit of sickness and lack in the name of Jesus Christ. The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare healing over your boyfriend’s body and provision over his finances. We also encourage you both to seek wisdom in managing this situation. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Have you explored all available resources, such as community health clinics, payment plans, or assistance programs? Sometimes God provides through practical means as well as miracles.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up this sister and her boyfriend to You. We ask for Your healing touch to rest upon him. You are the Great Physician, and we believe in Your power to restore health. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and declare that by Your stripes, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Father, we also ask for Your provision in this time of financial need. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You. Open doors of opportunity, provide wisdom for managing bills, and surround them with people who can offer support. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding as they trust in You (Philippians 4:6-7).
Lord, we also ask for Your guidance in their relationship. If this is a union You have ordained, lead them into marriage according to Your will. If it is not, give them the strength and wisdom to honor You in their choices. Help them to flee from temptation and to live lives that glorify You in all things.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and love. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to stand on God’s promises and trust in His timing. Seek Him diligently in prayer and through His Word, and encourage your boyfriend to do the same. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, now is the time to share the gospel with him. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is the greatest gift, and it is the foundation for all of God’s blessings. May the Lord bless you both as you seek Him.
