We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for God’s goodness and mercy. Father, we lift up this precious request, trusting in Your perfect will and timing. First, we thank You for the gift of rest, true rest that only comes from You. We pray for deep, renewing sleep for all who are weary, that they may wake strengthened in body, mind, and spirit. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Heavenly Father, we bring baby before You with tender hearts, asking for Your healing touch. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to restore health and wholeness. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). Lay Your healing hands upon this little one, Lord, and comfort the family as they wait on You. May they feel Your presence in every moment, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
For , we pray for Your favor to surround them like a shield. Open doors that no man can shut, and grant wisdom, discernment, and opportunities that align with Your purpose. We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may try to steal hope. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that Your promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before You. You have asked for good rest, and well you may, for the Lord Jesus Himself issues the sweet command, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” This is no distant promise, but a present reality, rest given there and then, to the wearied soul who casts itself upon Him. Yet it is not a rest of idleness, for the same Saviour adds, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” There is a rest after rest, the deep repose of a heart already at peace, now learning at the feet of the Master. You shall find that even in service there is rest, for it is Christ’s yoke, easy and light. The birds sleep upon the wing; even so, the believer rests while labouring for Jesus.
As for the dear little one for whom you pray, pray on and fear not. There is healing in the Lord Jesus, for the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue; His very shadow cures. And when He healed the palsied man, He first spoke pardon, saying, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” Healing and forgiveness are often one stream from the same pierced side. Lay the babe upon the promises, and look to the Sun of Righteousness who rises with healing in His wings.
You seek favor and a new thing for one held dear. Remember that the eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. His favor is not a faint hope, but a sweet savour of rest to His people; He comes with all His heart to display His love. The God of mercy shall go before you, preventing you with blessings of goodness. What seems a new thing to you is already prepared in the counsels of His grace, a heritage of joy kept in trust. Only believe, and you shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Rest in His name, for the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. Trust, and you shall rest.
