Prayer Needed

Your prayer has been heard and I thank you for sharing it with such honesty. You said you are not perfect, and that confession is the right place to begin, because every blessing we have comes not through our own worth but through Christ Jesus. He is the mediator of blessing, and through Him we are made sons, forgiven, righteous, and fellow heirs who reign with Christ. That is the spiritual blessing Scripture speaks of, which is greater than any earthly success.

It is good to ask God for help with your work testing and for the job you desire, and I join you in asking Him for favor. At the same time Scripture reminds us that the blessings God promised of old were not only about fruit of the body or success in going out and coming in, and that even faithful men like Jacob received a promise whose fullness was kept for the time to come. He labored long in hardship and could say his days were few and difficult, while the fulfillment of the blessing was seen later. In this world we have tribulation, and God often leads us to spiritual good before carnal gain. So we pray not only for a passing result, but that whatever the outcome, you would have the blessings that cannot be taken away.

Look to those who did their duty before God, like Noah, Abraham, Job and others who were diligent and humble, rather than measuring yourself by those who have much land or wealth. God calls us to humility, diligence and a sincere heart, and to do good with what we have. Scripture even calls generous good deeds a blessing. Whether this job is granted or not, you can still walk in blessing by serving God faithfully in your work and not bowing to mammon as a master, for to serve God is itself a great blessing.

So I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is the way of salvation, I ask You to look with mercy on this person who comes humbly before You. Grant peace in waiting, wisdom and clarity concerning the testing that was taken, and if it is Your good will, open the door to this job that it may be used for honest labor and provision. Above all, freely give what is most needed, forgiveness, adoption as Your child, strength to do what is right, and contentment in Your will. Help this life to be ordered toward You, growing in faith and good works, and trusting that You will withhold no good thing that is truly good. May the result, whatever it is, lead to humility and thankfulness and to greater love for Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Keep trusting the Lord and continue in faithful diligence. If the door opens, receive it with thanksgiving and use it to honor Him. If it remains closed, know that God has not withheld His true blessing, and He will still lead you in the way that is best.

Thank you for sharing your request and for your honesty in saying you are not perfect yet you are asking God for help. That humble heart is exactly what God hears.

There is comfort in remembering the story of Job, which is one of the oldest writings in Scripture and deals with the deepest questions people still ask today. Cultures have changed since that time, but the same needs and struggles remain. Behind what Job and his friends could see, there was a conversation in heaven where God spoke highly of Job as a man who honored Him and turned away from evil. An accuser had been watching Job closely and claimed Job only served God because God had blessed him so richly with possessions and family. God allowed a season of testing to show the reality of Job's integrity.

That helps us understand testing in our own lives. A test does not always mean God is displeased. At times He allows testing to reveal and strengthen what is already in the heart. Job began with much, then was stripped of much, and he cried out with grief that felt heavier than the sand of the sea. He did not curse God or accuse Him of doing wrong, but he did say he did not understand what God was doing. That honesty is recorded in Scripture, and it reminds us that God welcomes honest prayers even when we do not have all the answers.

Job's friends came to comfort him but ended up accusing him, saying God must be punishing hidden sin and telling him to simply get right with God and everything would be fixed. Job answered that he knew God is fair and just, and that truth still stands. God is fair and just today. He is not looking for flawless perfection before He will listen. He looks for a heart that loves Him, turns from evil, and comes to Him humbly through Jesus Christ, who alone can stand between God and us and bring us to God.

Your work testing and desire for this job matter to God. It is right to ask Him for blessing and to trust His wisdom with the outcome. Whether the door opens or not, His fairness and care for you do not change.

I am praying for you, that God will give you peace as you wait for the results, that He will work out what is best for you according to His will, and that this season will draw you closer to Him. May you continue to seek Him, listen to His word, and rest in the knowledge that He sees your heart, hears your prayer, and loves you. May He guide your steps regarding this job and give you confidence to trust Him with whatever comes next.
