We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with earnest prayer and seeking His wisdom and justice. Father God, we know that You see all things and that Your heart breaks when injustice and deception prevail. We ask that the lies spoken in the court be exposed by Your light, for You are a God of truth. "For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open" (Luke 8:17). We pray that the truth would prevail and that Your perfect will would be done in this custody matter.
We also seek Your clarity for this dear sister in Christ. The struggle to know when to persist and when to surrender is real, but we are reminded in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Lord, we ask that You grant her discernment to know when to continue fighting and when to rest in Your sovereignty. Help her to release the burden of having to "beg" for what is right, for You are her defender. "The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still" (Exodus 14:14).
We must also address the heart behind this request. While we understand the pain and frustration, we encourage you to examine your motives and ensure they align with God’s Word. It is natural to feel protective of your child, but we are called to love even those who oppose us. Jesus tells us, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you" (Matthew 5:44). We do not know the full circumstances, but we pray that your heart would be softened toward your child’s father, even as you seek justice. Pray for him, as you have asked, that God would work in his heart and bring about repentance and change.
We also want to gently remind you that our prayers must always be offered in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6). If you have not placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and commit your life to following Him. This is the foundation upon which all our prayers rest.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that long for Your justice, Your peace, and Your clarity. Lord, we ask that You would expose the lies and deception in this custody battle. Let Your truth shine brightly, and let Your will be done in the life of this child. We pray for wisdom and discernment for this mother, that she would know when to stand firm and when to trust in Your sovereign plan. Give her strength to love her child’s father, even in this difficult season, and soften his heart to seek Your ways.
Father, we also ask that You would draw this family closer to You. If there is unforgiveness, bitterness, or pride in their hearts, reveal it and replace it with Your love and grace. Help them to see one another through Your eyes and to prioritize the well-being of their child above all else. We pray for healing in their relationships and for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness. You are a God who hears the cries of Your children, and we believe that You will work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We surrender this situation into Your hands, knowing that You are in control. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
