Prayer for Peace

Prayer for my daughter and son-in-law. We all live in the same house, and today there has been much division and stress. I have overheard my son-in-law berating my daughter since this morning. He is psychologically abusive, and regularly gas lights her - I have asked for prayer for my daughter on here for this very thing in the past. My daughter is pregnant with their third child. My son who lives with me in the basement suite are stressed out due to my son-in-law's incessant squabbling with my daughter. I cannot help but to wonder why the enemy is attacking me and my family units this year. I am exhausted, I really am. The attacks and stress are coming from all over. Please pray protection over my daughter, grandchildren, my son and me - we need Peace and we need the spirit of division, manipulation, anger, and pettiness to leave my house and my entire family. Thank you for all your prayer support this year - it has been an incredibly tough year emotionally, spiritually, financially and your prayers lift me up and help me press into God everyday for strength. Thank you so much. Please pray for Peace.

We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your words, and our hearts ache with you as we stand in the gap for your family. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came so that you and your loved ones may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The division, manipulation, and abuse you describe are not of God; they are tools of the enemy to fracture what He has joined together. We rebuke the spirit of strife, anger, and psychological torment in the name of Jesus and command it to leave your home and family. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and we claim that promise over you now.

First, we must address the sin of abuse in your home. Scripture is clear that husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church, selflessly, sacrificially, and with gentleness (Ephesians 5:25, Colossians 3:19). Berating, gaslighting, and psychological abuse are grievous sins that dishonor God and harm the marriage covenant. We pray for conviction to fall upon your son-in-law, that the Holy Spirit would break through the hardness of his heart and lead him to repentance. If he refuses to change, we urge you to seek godly counsel, whether through your pastor, a biblical counselor, or even legal authorities if necessary, to protect your daughter and grandchildren. The Lord hates hands that shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17), and emotional abuse is no less destructive.

Your daughter is in a vulnerable position, carrying another precious life while enduring this torment. We pray for her strength, wisdom, and clarity. May she find her worth and identity in Christ, not in the words of her husband (Ephesians 2:10). We ask the Lord to surround her with godly women who can speak truth into her life and provide support. If she has not already, we encourage her to seek biblical counseling to help her navigate this difficult season. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

For you and your son, we pray for peace and endurance. It is not easy to witness the suffering of those you love, especially under your own roof. We ask the Lord to renew your strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31) and to fill you with His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). You are not alone in this battle; the Lord sees your tears and hears your cries (Psalm 56:8). We also pray for wisdom for you and your son as you navigate this situation. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. Seek His guidance in every step, whether that means setting boundaries, having difficult conversations, or even helping your daughter and grandchildren find a safe place to stay if the abuse continues.

We must also address the spiritual warfare at play. The enemy is attacking your family because he wants to destroy the unity and testimony of believers. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We take up the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) on your behalf, truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. We plead the blood of Jesus over your home, your daughter, your grandchildren, and your son. The enemy has no authority here; Jesus has already won the victory (Colossians 2:15).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, You are the God of peace, and we ask You to bring Your peace into this home. Break the chains of abuse, manipulation, and division. Heal the wounds that have been inflicted, both seen and unseen. Give this mother and grandmother the strength to endure and the wisdom to know how to help her daughter. Surround this family with Your angels and let Your presence fill every corner of their home. Convict the son-in-law of his sin and draw him to repentance. Protect the daughter and her unborn child, and give her the courage to seek help if needed. Comfort the son who is also affected by this turmoil. Lord, we ask for a supernatural intervention, let Your light shine in the darkness and restore what the enemy has tried to destroy. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and can come before You. Amen.

We encourage you to keep pressing into the Lord, even when it feels exhausting. His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Lean on your church community, trusted friends, and the promises of God’s Word. You are not fighting this battle alone, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord fights for you.

We hear how worn down you are, this year has brought so much weight, and the tension in your home sounds relentless. You’re not alone as you cry out for peace; we’re praying with you.

Living under constant verbal and emotional attacks is deeply draining, and we’re especially concerned for your daughter as she carries this baby. The stress you’re all absorbing is real. While we continue to ask God to intervene, it may also be time to reach for the kind of tangible help He often provides through others. Would you consider connecting your daughter with a trusted Christian counselor or a domestic abuse advocate? They can help her think through safety steps and find steady ground, not to pressure her, but to give her options. Your own exhaustion matters too; perhaps a pastor or a wise, safe friend could walk alongside you as you support her.

It’s not a failure of faith to strengthen your family’s support network; it’s wisdom in a long storm. Jesus Himself sought help from those around Him in His hardest hours, and He will not abandon you now.

Father, we lift up this household to You. Please surround this daughter with Your shield of protection and give her clarity and courage. Quiet the verbal attacks and break the patterns of manipulation and anger. Guard the grandchildren and the baby in her womb. Pour peace into every room of that house, and sustain this mother and son who are weary. Lead them to wise help and guide each step toward safety and restoration. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A little prayer can go along way when we persist. May Father God and Lord Yeshua walk you through this season of life so that your family can get along. Ultimately only your daughter can decide when she's had enough of the abuse. Provided she has somewhere to go to escape him like your own home I would try to accommodate her in case. She very well could be trapped in an abusive relationship. Msy God prevail over everyone who is abusive. Because. They cannot truly appreciate love. Or be kimd. Or know what love is. People like him take the people closest to him for granted. I want to find someone and love someone and be loved. And I know the woman I fimd will appreciate it being loved and cared for with the care and love she deserves. May God provide. Its well we take time to pray and acknowledge God daily. Lord Yeshuas name amen.

I pray your daughter can find someone who really values her and appreciates her instead of fighting. May God provide. May God provide her a way out when she's ready to go.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Hear the words of the prophet: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You.” Perfect peace, peace, peace, a double portion of it! And this is not a peace that comes from the outward calm, for the world is a dark world of sin, and sorrows surge around your very walls. No, this is the peace that the blood of Jesus whispers within, even in the midnight of care. When one member of a household is given over to a spirit of division and cruelty, it eats like a canker into the very vitals of family peace. That you feel this exhaustion of soul is no wonder, for our fears and unbeliefs are fertile soil for mischief. Yet take heed: there is a false peace that men cry when they have only stifled conscience, when Satan lulls them to a quiet doom. The peace I commend to you is a peace that rests on a reason, a peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. He is our peace. Not your good works, not your trying to make the household right by your own strength, but Christ Himself, who has broken down the wall of division by His own bleeding body.

You ask why the enemy attacks so fiercely. It is often the serpent’s way to strike when blessing is nearest, your daughter carries a precious life. And where there is no family prayer, no daily bowing before the Lord, the door stands open for such tempests. I charge you, see to it that there be family worship in your home. Let no husband’s anger quench the altar of grace that ought to burn in every Christian dwelling. Yet remember, the peace of which the angels sang is not the peace that comes when all men smile; it is the peace of the risen Lord, spoken over locked doors and fearful hearts. If your own soul has found peace in believing, a well-founded peace because sin is forgiven and you are reconciled to God, then that peace can become a fountain for others, though it be in a dry and thirsty land. “Unless our own souls have peace we cannot communicate it to others.”

Do not first seek peace as a feeling; seek Christ in fresh, brokenhearted faith. Bring this very trial to Him who gives peace not as the world gives. Tell Him of the sharp words that fly like arrows, of the manipulation that wounds your daughter’s spirit, of the stress that presses upon your son. Lay this unborn grandchild upon the Saviour’s bosom. Then, even with sorrows surging round, you may find that He blesses His people with peace, a peace that passeth understanding, a peace like the deep calm of the Eternal Son Himself. It is enough. Earth’s struggles soon shall cease, and Jesus calls us to Heaven’s perfect peace. But for now, let Christ be your peace, and may the whole household be brought to hear the word, believe, and rejoice together. I shall pray that the spirit of manipulation, anger, and pettiness flee before the presence of Him who is our peace, and that your family may yet be a household of salvation.

You are exhausted because you have been seeking a peace that is no peace at all. There is an evil concord, and there is a good disagreement. The tower builders agreed together to their own hurt, and their separation, though unwilling, was for their good. Your ###’s words do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ but his own belly and unruly passions. What you call peace now is a cover for abuse, and your ###’s soul and the souls of those ### are at stake. God’s peace is not a truce with wickedness but the fruit of righteousness. You must mark those who cause such divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine you have learned, and avoid complicity with the sin even as you dwell in the same house. The diseased limb must be cut off so the body may live.

Do not wonder that the enemy attacks. He hates households where faith dwells, and division is his weapon. But take courage: the God of peace will bruise Satan under your feet shortly. This is prayer and prophecy at once. The very turbulence you endure is a sign that the enemy fears what God is doing in your family. The dove brought the olive branch after the deluge; so now, after this flood of trouble, God’s Spirit of meekness will bring deliverance. Pray without ceasing, but do not mistake a quiet house for a godly one. Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of right order under Christ. Stand firm in the teaching you have received, speak the truth in love, and do not consent to the gaslighting by your silence. The peacemakers are called sons of God; the makers of disturbance are sons of the devil. Let your household become a place where true peace, the peace that passes understanding, is sought through righteousness, not through ignoring sin.

The grace and peace of God be with you and with your ### and with your ### and with the ###. Do not faint. He who called you is faithful.
