Thank you for sharing this prayer need and for allowing us to pray with you for your family. It is good to bring those you love before the Lord and to ask for His favor, His opening of doors, and His peace.
The Scriptures speak often about finding favor in the sight of the Lord. That favor is not something we earn, but something God delights to give to those who seek Him and walk honestly before Him. Like Jacob who desired to find favor, we can come to God openly and ask Him to rest His gracious hand upon the life of your loved one, to guide his steps, to provide what is needed, and to open doors that no one else can open. The Lord is the one who opens prison doors and sets captives free, and He is able to open a way where there seems to be no way. When a door remains closed, we can trust His wisdom and timing, and when He opens a door, no one can shut it. Bring this need to Him with complete honesty, holding nothing back, for everything is open before Him and He invites frank and sincere prayer from your heart.
For your daughter, the deepest prayer for peace begins with peace with God. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The peace the world offers is fragile and often is only words, saying peace, peace when there is no real peace within. True peace comes only when we are no longer at war with God, and that peace with God is made possible only through the blood of Jesus Christ who died to forgive our sins and reconcile us to the Father. Once we have peace with God, we can then know the peace of God, that steady peace that guards our hearts and minds and passes all understanding.
The promise of Scripture is, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee. That perfect peace is for the one who keeps his thoughts fixed on the Lord, trusting Him to care for every situation. It is not dependent on calm circumstances, but on a mind stayed on Christ. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable, and those who sow peace will reap a harvest of righteousness. God has ordained peace for His children because He wants you to live in that rest.
We pray now for you and your family. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only way to peace with You. We ask for Your favor to rest upon this loved one, that You would lead him, provide for him, and in Your perfect will open the doors that need to be opened and keep closed what should remain closed. We ask for Your perfect peace to fill your daughter in every situation she faces. Keep her mind stayed on You, guard her heart with the peace of Christ, and help her to walk in honesty and trust before You each day. Heal what needs healing, calm what is troubled, and let her know that the war is over for those who belong to You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our peace. Amen.
