Prayer for my little boy

Disciple of Prayer
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Please keep my ###-year-old son in your daily prayers. He is my only comfort and a miracle I waited long for. He used to eat healthy foods like rice, fruits, and eggs very well. But recently, due to family members bringing him sugary junk foods, he has completely stopped eating healthy meals. I am deeply worried about his health. Please pray that Jesus delivers him from the habit of eating junk food, restores his appetite for healthy and nutritious food, and protects his little body. Please also pray that our family members stop giving him unhealthy foods. Jesus is my only refuge and strength. Please pray for my little boy. Thank you and God bless you all. Amen

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious little boy and his mother who loves him so deeply. Father God, we thank You for the gift of this child, a true miracle and blessing. We ask that You would work powerfully in his life, restoring his appetite for the healthy foods You have provided for his growth and nourishment. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of gluttony and unhealthy cravings in Jesus' name, commanding it to leave this child's body and mind. Your Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Help this little one to honor You with his body by eating what is good and nourishing.

We also pray for wisdom and unity in this family. Lord, soften the hearts of those who have been giving him unhealthy foods. Give them understanding of the importance of proper nutrition for this child's development. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We ask that You would guide this mother as she trains her son in godly habits, and that she would have the strength and support she needs from her family.

Heavenly Father, we declare Your protection over this child's health. Guard his body from the harmful effects of poor nutrition and strengthen his immune system. We speak life and health over him in Jesus' name. And to the mother who has placed her trust in You as her refuge and strength, we pray that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind her daily that You are her provider and protector, and that You hear her prayers.

Lord, we thank You for the name of Jesus, the only name by which we can come before You. There is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain, including unhealthy habits and family discord. We stand on Your promises and declare victory in this situation. May this family experience Your healing touch and see Your glory manifested in their lives. In Jesus' mighty name we pray, Amen.

We can feel the ache in your words, this little boy is your long-awaited miracle, and watching him turn away from the healthy foods he once ate so well understandably stirs up so much worry. You’re not being overly protective; you’re being a mom who loves deeply and notices when something precious is at risk. That care is a gift God put inside you.

Something we’ve seen help in these situations is a calm, clear conversation with the family members involved. They may not realize how much stress this is causing, and often people express love through treats without meaning any harm. You might gently tell them, “I’m so grateful you love him and want to give him little joys. Right now, his eating is a real concern, and I need your help. Could we pick out some healthy snacks together that you can offer him instead? That way you can still spoil him in a way that actually nourishes him.” It keeps the relationship warm while drawing a needed boundary.

In the meantime, we are joining you in prayer, trusting that the same Jesus who blessed the children brought to Him sees your son and cares about the smallest details of his wellbeing.

Lord Jesus, You know this little boy, You formed him and have carried him from the start. Quietly turn his appetite back toward the food that makes his body strong. Shield his health even now, and give his mom creative ideas and the right words for her family. Surround her with encouragement and a deep sense that she is not alone in this. We ask it in Your name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a sore grief to see a little child turn from the good gifts of God to the painted poisons of this world. Yet take heart, for the Lord who gave you this son after long waiting is not unmindful of your tears. Your anxiety over his appetite is not a small thing; the health of the body is a mercy we too often undervalue, and when a child refuses wholesome food, it is a call to earnest pleading at the throne of grace. Let us agonize together in prayer, not with empty words but with the energy of a soul that will not let the Angel go until He blesses the child.

First, teach your little boy his own prayer. A simple cry like “Lord, help me” is a mighty weapon for young lips. Let him hear you pray for him, and let him learn to ask the Good Shepherd to give him a taste for that which is good. I have often thought that the extemporaneous utterance of a child, pouring out his little heart to God, is a sweet incense in the ears of the Most High. Pray with him over his meals; turn his eyes to the Giver of every perfect gift.

Then plead the promise that when the Lord gives an appetite, He will surely give the meat. He who made the mouth can fill it with things healthful. Ask boldly that the spirit of craving for sugar and trifles be broken, and that a desire for fruits and eggs and rice be restored. Remember, it is not by force or scolding but by the drawing of the Spirit that his will may be turned. Christ Jesus intercedes for His little ones; before the temptation to junk food ever crossed his path, the Saviour had already prayed for him. That prayer is prevalent; lean hard upon it.

Pray also for those family members who in ignorance or thoughtlessness do harm. They need the Lord to speak to their hearts, that they might become helpers rather than hinderers. In the meantime, be not cast down if your efforts seem useless; seasons of seeming failure are the very time to cry, “Wilt thou not revive us again?” The Lord can make the child’s countenance to shine with health once more, for He alone is the health of our bodies and our souls.

Look not to your own strength, but cast the whole burden upon Him who careth for you. Let your prayer be that of the Canaanite woman, “Lord, help me,” for He never finally refuses such pleading. And as you wait, sing even in the trial, for He who made the barren woman a joyful mother can surely restore the appetite of your little boy and guard his tender frame.

You speak of your son’s sudden rejection of wholesome food and your distress over it. Let us examine this matter with the eyes of faith, for the care of the body is but a shadow of the care of the soul. What has occurred is not a mere change in taste buds; it is a skirmish in that great war where the passions, like wild beasts, set upon even our little ones. You are right to be vigilant, for a child left to feed upon sugary trifles is like a healthy man who throws himself into sickness, not realizing that one needs only to care for the flesh for health, not to fulfil its lusts. When you go beyond necessaries, you light a flame and make the furnace of desire powerful.

The habit you see forming is this very thing: making provision for the flesh to fulfil its lusts. Once the appetite is corrupted by such soft and sweet things, it learns to reject what is simple and nourishing. Consider how we are worse than the brutes in this; we do not overfeed a dog or an ass, lest we hurt it. Yet how often do loved ones, through a mistaken kindness, harm a child’s body by compelling it to partake of food beyond its measure, or of food which is pure damage? You must not despair as though this were an unbreakable chain, nor must you think a quick prayer without action will suffice. The apostle commands us to bring up children in the chastening and admonition of the Lord. This is your spiritual work now. You must be the physician applying the remedy, not with timid requests, but with a mother’s firm authority born of love.

Do not merely ask Jesus to deliver him while standing idly by. Rise up and prune away these things. You are the guardian of that little temple. When family members bring these foods, you must gently, but with a will of iron, stop up their mouths. Explain that true love does not feed the disease of intemperance. If they will not listen, you must set a boundary as firm as the palace wall, lest your son become one of the many who are sick when they could be healthy. Let him learn to see simple rice and fruit not as a burden, but as the food of a disciplined soldier of Christ. Even as the deacon cries out to separate the holy from the unhealthy, so you must separate the harmful provisions from your household. Do not fear their disapproval; fear rather the injury to your miracle child.

And while you contend for his bodily health, let this outward struggle remind you of the inward one. You call him your only comfort and a miracle. Guard your heart, then, from making an idol of this comfort. It is good to cherish a gift from God, but if your peace is shattered by his food choices, you have allowed your spirit to be tossed by a dream. Look upon those mothers who sit in the vestibules, whose children are maimed, blind, or demoniacs, and learn thankfulness. Your trial is real, but it is an occasion to train both him and yourself in virtue. Let him see in you not a frantic anxiety, which is a kind of sickness itself, but a calm and holy resolution. You cannot control every morsel that passes his lips forever; therefore, your greater task is to shape his will. Teach him why we eat, that we do so to serve God, not our bellies. For what profit is there in a multitude of unprofitable children? There is no profit in a healthy body with a ruined soul, but also no great spiritual height reached by neglecting the body’s simple needs through laziness or indulgence.

This is a moment of persecution from the passions, yet it is thought to be peace, so we do not even arm ourselves. Arm yourself, then, with prayer and with action. Let the daily discipline of the table become a school for his soul, where he learns that a Christian does not live for dainty living or the pleasure of sweets. Stand firm, and you will see the appetite for those good foods restored, even as health returns to a sick man who stops eating the food that caused his sickness. Do not let him come to the spiritual fountain later with a body weakened by indulgence. Let his body be brought into health, that his soul may be undistracted for prayer. Keep watch, and do not sleep in this matter, for while it seems a small thing, it is the training ground for a lifetime of saying “no” to the flesh in order to say “yes” to God.
