Prayer for my husband

Just humbly asking for prayers so my ### will quit smoking, i pray god breaks chains and brings him closer to seek the lords heart, so he can lead his family as a tru believer a soldier of christ, he belives but is distracted with earthly things, he is a great father and husband but i pray he would seek god so he can be a better leader for us.

We join with you in lifting up your husband and your marriage before the Lord, and we are encouraged by your humble heart and your desire to see him grow as the spiritual leader of your family. We rejoice that God has joined you together as husband and wife, and we thank God for the gift of marriage which He ordained to reflect Christ and the church. We hear your love for him as you honor him as a great father and husband while longing to see him become all that God has called him to be.

We stand with you in praying for deliverance from smoking and from every chain that holds him back. The Word tells us, Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Smoking can become a stronghold and a master over the body, but we know that whom the Son sets free is free indeed, and that God is faithful to provide a way out and the strength to overcome. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 We pray that the Lord breaks this addiction and replaces the craving with a hunger for His presence.

We also join you in praying that he will seek the Lord with his whole heart and be transformed from being distracted by earthly things to being focused on eternal things. We are reminded, Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 And, But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 As he seeks the Lord first, God will equip him to lead you and your children well.

We love your heart to see him be a true believer and a soldier of Christ leading his household. Scripture calls a husband to love his wife even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it. Ephesians 5:25 That kind of leadership comes from putting on the strength of the Lord, as it is written, Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11 We pray he will take up that armor daily and choose to serve the Lord with his household, as Joshua declared, As for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh. Joshua 24:15

We encourage you to continue to lift him up with gentle love and respect, trusting that your prayers are powerful. The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16 Continue to speak life over him, encourage his steps toward the Word and prayer, and trust God to work in His perfect timing, knowing that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and thank You for this husband and father and for this wife who intercedes for him with such love. Lord, we ask You to break every chain of addiction in his life, to deliver him from smoking and give him freedom and self control by Your Holy Spirit. Heal his body, renew his mind, and give him strength to endure and overcome, for we know he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him. Philippians 4:13 Draw him close to You, Lord, turn his heart away from distraction with earthly things and set his affections on You. Raise him up as a godly leader, a soldier of Christ who seeks Your heart, leads his family in righteousness, loves his wife as Christ loves the church, and guides his children in Your truth. Fill his heart with hunger for Your Word and fill this home with Your peace. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We love hearing your heart for your husband. You see the good in him as a father and husband and you long for him to be free from smoking and even more to walk closely with the Lord as he leads your family. That is a beautiful, faithful prayer.

Quitting smoking is often so hard because it is not just one thing. It becomes a daily habit tied to stress and routine and at the same time the body gets used to nicotine, so cravings and irritability can make stopping feel overwhelming. Knowing that can help us have extra patience and grace while still praying for freedom.

One gentle next step that helps many couples is to keep encouragement separate from pressure. When he is open, you might ask if he would be willing to talk with his doctor or a cessation program about support options, and let him know you are for him whether progress is fast or slow. Continuing to pray for him, and with him when he welcomes it, and thanking God for the ways he already leads your family well can be a steady encouragement.

We are praying with you.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this husband and this family to you. Break what binds him and draw him closer to your heart. Give him strength for each day, give his wife wisdom and encouragement, and help their home grow in your grace. Lead him as he seeks to lead his family. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard with thankfulness and we join you at the mercy seat on behalf of your husband and your household.

We praise God for the grace already seen in your home, that He has given you a husband who is a great father and who believes, and we pray now that the Lord will perfect that good work and draw him into a nearer and more wholehearted seeking after Christ. It is a blessed thing when a wife so loves her husband as to bear him upon her heart before God, and it is a still more blessed thing when a man is led to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, that all other things may be added as the Lord sees fit.

We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone breaks chains and sets the captive free, will break the chain of smoking and every earthly distraction that would hold your husband. We do not trust in mere resolution of the flesh, but in the power of Christ who dwells in His people and enables them to put off the old habits and to walk in newness of life. May the Lord give him a holy disgust for that which harms the body and dulls the spirit, and a holy hunger for that which nourishes the soul, even feeding upon a whole Christ in the entirety of His person and His commands.

We pray that he may seek the Lord honestly and with his whole heart, not with a divided heart that would seek God and earthly things at once, but as one who has tasted that the Lord is gracious and must have Christ or else die. When a man so seeks, he shall find, for they that seek Him early shall find Him, and He is not far from any of us. May your husband be brought to say with David, I will seek the Lord while He may be found, and may his whole life become a seeking of the Lord, beginning in prayer, continuing in the Word, and abounding in obedience.

And we pray that as he seeks Christ, Christ will make him the leader God calls him to be, a soldier of Christ girded with love and kindness, courageous in holiness, gentle in his home, first raising an altar before he pitches his tent, that you and your children may find rest in a household ordered under the Lord. The Lord who was a Husband unto His ancient people, who provided for them and delivered them and endowed them with all good things, will be a Husband to you still, and will supply all that you need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him.

Continue, sister, in faithful prayer and in quiet example, winning without a word where a word may not prevail, and encouraging him toward the means of grace, the reading of Scripture, the fellowship of the saints, and earnest prayer. Trust not in the act of seeking itself, but in Christ Himself laid hold upon by faith, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and He is able to save to the uttermost and to keep that which is committed unto Him.

We commend your husband to God, praying that the Lord will grant him repentance where repentance is needed, strength where strength is lacking, and a daily drawing nearer to the heart of Christ, that he may lead his family as one who first follows the Captain of our salvation.

May the Lord bless you both, and establish your home upon the Rock which cannot be moved, for Christ's sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
