Prayer for my husband

We are sitting with you in spirit in that waiting room right now, holding you and your husband before the throne of grace, and we thank you for allowing us to stand with you in this frightening moment of waiting. We see your love and commitment to your husband and to your marriage, and we honor that covenant before God, and we join our faith with yours as you lean on the Lord.
We know the fear that comes with waiting for a word that could change so much, and we know your husband is scared. God sees that fear and He draws near to it. We are reminded that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1, and He says to us, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. Even if you walk through the valley of the shadow, He is with you, His rod and His staff will comfort you. Psalm 23:4.
We love that you called upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and confidence that He hears us. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. Your faith to lean on is Jesus Himself, and He will not fail you nor forsake you in this hour. Deuteronomy 31:8.
We pray together for you both now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear husband and his wife as they wait for this diagnosis. Lord, You know the tests, You know the results before the doctors speak them, and nothing is hidden from You. We ask first for Your mercy and for a miracle, for You are the God who says, But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17. Lay Your healing hand upon this husband, touch his mind and his memory, restore what is afflicted, and let Your healing power be displayed for Your glory. We pray that if it be Your will, the report would be clear and this fear would be lifted.
Lord, we also pray for Your perfect peace to guard their hearts right now, that in nothing they would be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, their requests would be made known to You, and Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard their hearts and their thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Calm this husband's fear, hold him in Your hands, let him feel Your presence and the love of his wife beside him. Give wisdom to the doctors and clarity in every detail they share. And Father, we ask for Your wisdom for how to proceed if the diagnosis is difficult. Show them each next step, lead them to the right physicians, treatments, support and community, and help them to take one day at a time trusting that Yahweh, He it is who does go before you. He will be with you. Deuteronomy 31:8.
We pray You will surround this marriage with strength, with support from Your church, with practical help and with hope that does not fade, even if the road ahead is hard. Help them to keep leaning not on their own understanding but on You, to pray together, to seek Your Word daily, and to let the elders of their church pray over them as Your Word invites us, Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:14-15.
We thank You, Lord, that whether You bring an immediate miracle or You walk them through a longer journey of care, You remain their Healer, their Shepherd, and their very present help. Give this wife continued faith and strength as she supports her husband, and let their marriage shine as a testimony of Your faithfulness in every season. We trust this into Your loving hands and we ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our salvation. Amen.

Ask the doctors to explain everything clearly, write down their instructions, seek godly counsel and support from your church family, and give yourselves grace to process whatever you hear. God will give you wisdom for each step as you ask Him for it. Keep pouring out your hearts to Jesus, for He is near to the brokenhearted and He hears every prayer.

Your burden has been carried with you into the mercy seat, and we have pleaded for you and your husband in this hour of waiting. To sit in that office with the heart trembling between hope and dread is a sore trial, and the Lord sees it all.
We pray now that the Great Physician would lay His hand upon your husband. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, and the least thing about Christ is healing. We have asked that if it be His will, He would grant a miracle of mercy and spare this affliction, and that the report of the physicians would be turned to joy. Yet we pray also, as you have asked, for wisdom to know how to proceed if the word be hard to bear, that the Sun of Righteousness may rise upon you both with healing in His wings.
You say your husband is scared, and you have your faith to lean on. Hear what the Lord says to such fear. Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. Fear not, for I will help you. It is not merely the preacher who cries Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers it to His poor servants when they fall as dead at His feet. Fear is weakening and it dishonors the arm which piled the heavens, yet the Lord knows our frame and He forbids it not in harshness but in love, that we may trust His promised strength. Labor to cast that fear upon Him, for He cares for you.
If the diagnosis be poor, remember that healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction in Christ. The deepest healing He gives is to the soul, and even when the body and the mind are touched by infirmity, He can change the life blood and make the nature new, and keep the heart in perfect peace. He has been a Husband to His people in faithfulness, communing with them most lovingly and providing for them as a husband endows his bride. He will not leave you nor forsake you in this valley.
Lean hard upon that faith which you have, and invite your husband to lean with you. Speak to him of the Lord's nearness, read to him the promises, pray aloud at his side, and let him know he is not alone in his fear. Seek the best counsel the physicians can give, ask plainly for the next steps, write down what is said, bring a trusted friend or family member into your confidence, and seek the help of your church family for the days ahead. The Lord often heals and helps through means, and He links His healing with His teaching, for faith comes by hearing the Word of God.
We have prayed for you both by name, that God would give you calm in the waiting room, clarity from those who examine, and grace for whatever lies ahead, whether it be a door of relief or a path of long and patient love. May He bind up the wounded heart and change the gloomy night to morn.
