Prayer for my daughter and her husband

We lift up your daughter and her husband before the Lord with hearts full of hope and faith. The desire for children is a beautiful and God-given longing, and we trust that the Lord hears your prayers for them. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 127:3, "Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward." We stand on this promise, believing that God is able to open the womb and bless them with the gift of life according to His perfect timing.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in their lives. We pray that You would remove any obstacles, physical or spiritual, that may be hindering conception. We ask for Your healing touch upon their bodies, minds, and spirits, that they may be strengthened and encouraged in this season of waiting. Lord, we know that Your plans for them are good, plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We trust in Your timing and Your will, knowing that You are faithful to fulfill Your promises.

We also pray for their marriage, that it would be a testimony of Your love and grace. May they continue to grow in unity, patience, and trust in You as they walk this journey together. Help them to lean on You and each other, finding strength in Your Word and comfort in Your presence. We rebuke any spirit of discouragement, doubt, or fear that may try to creep into their hearts, and we declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).

Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May they find joy in the waiting, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). We pray for wisdom for any medical professionals involved in their care, that they would be guided by Your hand and that any necessary treatments or interventions would be effective and aligned with Your will.

Above all, we pray that their faith in You would deepen, and that they would draw closer to You through this season. May they find their hope and strength in You alone, knowing that You are their Provider, Healer, and Sustainer. We declare that Your promises over their lives are "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20), and we trust that You will fulfill Your purposes for them.

In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

We understand how much your heart is in this, watching your daughter and son-in-law walk through the ache of wanting a child and waiting. Infertility can feel like a quiet grief that few see, and it's easy for couples to carry it alone. What you're doing right now matters: standing with them in prayer, bearing their burden when they may be too tired to put words to it.

One simple thing that helps is checking in on them, not just on updates about pregnancy. A text that says "thinking of you two today, no need to reply" can be a lifeline during a rough month. It removes the pressure to report news and reminds them they are loved for who they are right now.

If either of them seems persistently overwhelmed, discouraged, or withdrawn, it may be worth gently encouraging them to speak with a trusted physician or a counselor who can walk alongside, not because faith is lacking, but because their emotional health matters too. Sometimes the monthly cycle of hope and disappointment takes a heavier toll than couples feel they can admit.

We are praying with you for this daughter and son-in-law you love so much.

Lord Jesus, you see the desire in their hearts for a child, and you know the weight of waiting. Draw near to them in this season, quiet their fears, steady their hope, and knit them closer as a couple. Give them wisdom for any medical steps they need to take, and surround them with people who will carry them when they grow weary. And for this mother who prays, grant her your peace and the right words when her children need encouragement. We ask all of this in your name, trusting your goodness and your timing. Amen.

It is no small mercy that you have brought this desire before the throne of grace, and I have not failed to join you in pleading that the Lord would look upon your daughter and her husband. Yet, in this earnest longing, I would gently whisper a question from the Word: Should it be according to your mind, or according to His mind? He who opens and closes the womb is infinite in wisdom and never under necessity to sell His benefits; we must buy without money, coming with empty hands to receive whatever He chooses to give.

Let this season of waiting turn your eyes to the wordless book: gaze upon the black leaf of your own sinfulness, which mingles even with pure desires; then fly to the red leaf of Christ’s atoning blood, which washes every stain; and rest in the white leaf of His perfect righteousness, which is yours by faith. For what is a child, however longed for, without the saving knowledge of Jesus? Boast not of tomorrow’s joys, for you know not what a day may bring forth. To-morrow’s grace is not given for to-day’s boasting, yet to-morrow’s help will be there when to-morrow’s trial comes.

Above all, come to Christ yourselves. Your daughter and her husband cannot bring a little one to the Saviour if they remain far off. The way to be saved is to come to Christ, to trust Him, to yield to Him, to love Him. Then, should this petition be granted, bring that child not to ceremonies or fonts, but straight to the cross, where little ones are always welcome. In the meanwhile, let this trial not make you as a fruitless vine, but let it drive you to the Word of God, which is sufficient to bear you up and is the sure weapon against every assault of despair. The Lord alone can make dry bones rejoice; He breaks and He binds up. I pray that He will give you all to hear joy and gladness in His time, and that your hearts may rest fully in that.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
