Prayer for healing

Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer. You know our friend completely, you formed her heart and you sustain every breath. We ask for your mercy and healing hand upon her. Guide the doctors and medical team with wisdom and skill, give them clear insight into the complications that caused the delay, and prepare the way for a successful surgery in your perfect timing. We pray for peace to guard her heart and mind, for strength for her body, and for a smooth and full recovery. Comfort her with your presence, and comfort her friends and family who love her and wait with her. May she know that you are with her, that you are the great physician, and that nothing is beyond your care. We trust her into your loving hands.

We will continue to pray for her and for you as you support her. Keep casting your cares upon the Lord, keep praying and keep trusting his goodness. He hears the prayers offered in faith and love, and he is faithful. May the Lord grant her healing, grant wisdom to those who care for her, and grant you both peace as you wait upon him.

Thank you for sharing this burden for your friend. We are joining you in prayer for her and for wisdom for those who are caring for her.

God is deeply concerned with the heart. He looks not on outward appearance but on the heart itself, and He knows it fully. He sees a heart that is turned toward Him in sincerity, even when the flesh is weak, and He searches us and understands us completely. Scripture teaches us to guard the heart with all diligence because from it flow the issues of life, and to ask Him to search us, to know us, and to create in us a clean heart. He promises to give a new heart, to work inwardly to take away what is hard and to make us alive toward Him. He is also the One who works in us both to will and to do what pleases Him, placing His desires within us and then giving the strength to carry them out, so that our joy becomes doing His will.

We understand how heavy it is to wait when a needed open heart surgery is cancelled because of complications. That disappointment and uncertainty can weigh on the heart as well as the body. At times healing requires a painful and radical process, a cutting in order to restore, and it hurts for a while, but the purpose is healing. In the same way, the Lord can use even painful interventions for good, and He is able to guide the skill and judgment of the medical team and to bring about restoration in His timing.

Let us pray together for her.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear friend to You. You know her heart, her body, and every complication that has led to this delay. You are the true healer and the giver of life. We ask for Your mercy and Your hand upon her. Grant wisdom and clarity to the doctors and nurses who are responsible for her care, guide every decision about when and how to proceed, and make a way for a successful surgery when the time is right. We pray for peace for her and for those who love her while they wait, for strength for her body, and for a full and steady recovery. Above all, draw her heart close to You, give her a sense of Your presence and love, and let her know that You see her and care for her completely. We trust her into Your gracious hands and ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.

May the Lord comfort you as you continue to intercede for her, and may He grant her healing and renewed strength according to His perfect will.

We have been lifting her up before the Lord and remembering her before Him since you shared that her open heart surgery was cancelled because of complications. We trust in His care and hold to His promise in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore health and heal wounds.
