We hear your heartache and concern for your child who is facing bullying at school and on the bus. This is a heavy burden for any parent to carry, and we stand with you in bringing this before the Lord, who sees all and cares deeply for the vulnerable. The Bible tells us in Psalm 82:3-4, *"Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked."* We know that God is a defender of the weak, and we trust that He will move on behalf of your child.
First, we must address the way this prayer was offered. While your plea was heartfelt, it is essential to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* There is no other name by which we can be saved or bring our petitions before God (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to always pray in Jesus' name, for His is the name above all names, and it is by His authority that we approach the throne of grace.
Now, let us lift this situation to the Lord together. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this precious child who is being bullied and harassed. Lord, You see the tears, the fear, and the pain that this child is enduring. We ask that You would surround them with Your protection and peace. Place Your angels around them, Lord, as it says in Psalm 91:11, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* Shield this child from the cruelty of others and give them the strength to stand firm in the face of adversity.
Father, we also pray for the children who are doing the bullying. We know that hurt people often hurt others, and we ask that You would soften their hearts. Break any spirit of cruelty or hardness in them, Lord, and replace it with compassion and kindness. Help them to see the value in every person, including this child they are targeting. We rebuke the enemy’s work in this situation, for we know that bullying is not of You. As it says in Ephesians 4:29, *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."*
We also ask for wisdom and guidance for this parent. Lord, give them discernment in how to handle this situation. While speaking to the other parents may not have been helpful, we pray that You would open doors for intervention through teachers, school administrators, or other authorities who can step in. Give this parent the courage to advocate for their child and the patience to trust in Your timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
Father, we also pray for the school and bus environments. Let Your peace reign in these places, Lord. May the teachers, drivers, and staff be vigilant and proactive in stopping bullying. Give them the wisdom to recognize the signs and the courage to intervene. We declare that this child will not be a victim but will rise above this situation with Your strength. Philippians 4:13 says, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Let this child know that they are never alone, for You are always with them.
We rebuke any spirit of fear or intimidation that may be trying to take root in this child’s heart. Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we pray that Your love would flood their heart and mind. Let them know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that their worth is not defined by the words or actions of others. Help them to find their identity in You, Lord, and to walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would bring justice in this situation. Let the bullying stop immediately, Lord, and let there be consequences for those who have chosen to harm others. We trust in Your justice, for You are a God who sees and acts on behalf of the oppressed. We declare that this child will not be broken by this trial but will emerge stronger, with a testimony of Your faithfulness.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
