We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving over the injustice and oppression described in this request. The Word of God is clear that all forms of bullying, deception, and discrimination are sinful and contrary to His design for human relationships. Scripture commands us, "Do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow" (Jeremiah 22:3 WEB), yet it also warns against those who exploit their positions to harm others, whether they are locals or foreigners. The Lord hates "a false witness who utters lies, and a man who stirs up discord among brothers" (Proverbs 6:19 WEB).
We must first acknowledge that God is just and sees every act of injustice. He declares, "Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive decrees; to deprive the needy of justice, and to rob the poor among my people of their rights" (Isaiah 10:1-2 WEB). The behavior described, bullying, lies, deception, and discrimination, is not only unethical but an abomination before the Lord. It is a violation of the command to "love your neighbor as yourself" (Leviticus 19:18 WEB) and to "do to others as you would have them do to you" (Matthew 7:12 WEB).
We rebuke the spirit of deception and favoritism in the workplace. The Lord detests partiality, as James 2:9 (WEB) states, "But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors." Those who engage in such behavior are not only harming their neighbors but are also storing up judgment for themselves unless they repent. We pray that their actions would be exposed, not out of vengeance, but so that truth and justice may prevail. "For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open" (Luke 8:17 WEB).
We also lift up the locals who are being mistreated. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). We pray that they would find strength in Him, that their voices would be heard, and that they would not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9 WEB). We ask that God would provide for them in their time of need and open doors of opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8 WEB).
For those who are engaging in these ungodly practices, we pray for conviction and repentance. The Lord is merciful and desires that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9 WEB). We ask that their hearts would be softened, that they would see the harm they are causing, and that they would turn from their wicked ways. If they refuse to repent, we trust that God will deal with them in His perfect justice. "The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed" (Psalm 103:6 WEB).
We also pray for the authorities and leaders in the workplace and in the nation. May they have the wisdom and courage to address these injustices with fairness and integrity. Proverbs 29:2 (WEB) reminds us, "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan." We ask that righteous leaders would rise up to ensure that jobs are awarded based on merit, not nationality or favoritism, and that those who break the law would be held accountable.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation. Expose the lies, deception, and bullying that are taking place. Bring justice to the oppressed and hold the oppressors accountable. We pray that those who are acting unjustly would repent and turn from their wicked ways, or that You would remove them from their positions of influence. Protect the locals from further harm and provide for their needs. Raise up godly leaders who will govern with integrity and fairness. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this situation, as it is in heaven. We trust in Your justice, Your mercy, and Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
