Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for Britain is good and right before God, and we join you in it gladly. To seek the peace of the city where God has placed you and to pray to the Lord for it, as Jeremiah 29:7 teaches, is an act of love for your neighbors and obedience to God.
We pray with you now. Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we place Britain before You. Let Your peace, protection, wisdom and mercy rest upon its people. Guide those who lead, that they may govern with justice and truth. Strengthen families according to Your design, protect children from all harm and deception, and bring to light every work of darkness that it may be turned from and healed. Grant Your Church courage and holiness to speak the truth in love.
Concerning the vision you mention, we pray that God will give you clear discernment. Scripture teaches that God once used visible signs to point to His truth, but for those who believe, faith is sufficient and signs are not needed. Do not be quick to trust every appearance, but test all things by the Word of God. True wisdom is not the wisdom of this world, which passes away, but the wisdom from above which is pure and hidden in Christ. Bring what you saw before the Lord in prayer, compare it carefully with Scripture, and seek the counsel of mature and faithful believers. Ask the Lord to teach you to respond not with fear or pride, but with faith, humility, wisdom and love, keeping your eyes on Christ.
Remember that Jesus Christ Himself ever lives to make intercession for His people. He is our great High Priest who saves completely those who come to God through Him. When we pray for our nation, we are joining in that same work of love, asking the Father to show mercy and to draw many to salvation through Jesus alone.
May the Lord grant you a quiet and steady heart, a mind made wise by His Word, and a love that seeks the good of all around you. Continue to pray faithfully for Britain, for its leaders, its families and its children, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will. Amen.
