Pray to fix hot water system

We join you in bringing this practical need before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name, for we know that He cares about every detail of our lives, even the comforts of our home that we often take for granted.

We understand how disruptive and frustrating it is to be without hot water, and we pray with you for a swift resolution. We ask the Lord to grant you favour with the one responsible for the repairs, that his heart would be moved to respond quickly and diligently and that the work would be done well and without unnecessary delay. We pray that the Lord would give that man skill and wisdom to diagnose and fix the problem completely, so that your hot water system would be restored to normal working order very soon.

We are reminded of the promise in Philippians 4:6, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And also Proverbs 16:7, When a man's ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. We trust that as we commit this situation to Him, He is able to soften hearts and open doors and provide what is needed according to His perfect will. We also take comfort in Romans 8:28, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose, even in small trials and inconveniences.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and lift up this need for the hot water system to be repaired. Lord, we ask for Your favour to rest upon this request. Move upon the heart of the man who is able to fix it, give him willingness and promptness to act, and give him the knowledge to restore it fully. Provide peace and patience while waiting, and let this be a testimony of Your provision and care. We thank You in advance for Your help and for hearing our prayer. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Your request concerning the hot water system has been brought before the Lord and we have prayed with you that He would grant favour and a speedy restoration. A want in the home touches our daily comfort, and though it may seem a small thing to some, our Father is not unmindful of the cares which press upon His children in their dwelling.

We are reminded that the house in which we dwell has God for its Landlord and that we are only tenants. There is this clause in the lease, that the great Landlord has at all times the right to enter His own property, and the Lord who made our house best knows how to repair the tenement and He permits us to resort to Him. When the house is out of order, we do well to practice that resort by prayer. While we properly look to the earthly landlord to fulfill his duty, we look above him to the Lord who can incline the heart and grant favour and diligence.

In such waiting there is need of patience, even the patience of the Scriptures. It is not the patience of the brute that cannot complain, nor of the stoic who refuses to feel, but the patience of a child who believes in his Father's love, the patience of a pilgrim who pushes onward. You have heard of the patience of Job, the patience of a man like ourselves, imperfect and full of infirmity, yet greatly tried and sustained. May the Divine Spirit lay home to your troubled heart the comfort of the Scriptures, so that you may have not only patience but the patience and comfort which the Word itself produces.

Let us pray together. O Eternal God who art our dwelling place, at home with Thee we feel safe and our eyes sparkle most at Thy fireside. We entreat Thee to grant favour in the eyes of the landlord and to move him to act with promptness and care to restore the hot water to its normal working. Supply what is needful for the household and preserve all therein in health and peace. Teach us in this trial to offer the key of our house to Thee, the great Landlord, and to acknowledge that we live on sufferance by Thy mercy. Give patience while we wait and a thankful heart when relief comes, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We will continue to remember you before the throne, asking that the work be done quickly and that you may be kept in peace while you wait upon the Lord.
