Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so honestly about how you are feeling. I have prayed for you, asking the Lord to lift this heaviness and hurry and to give you rest in your mind and body.
The Scripture says that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. And in another place we are told about a peace that goes beyond our understanding, a peace that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. That is the peace God wants for you right now, not just calm circumstances but a steady calm inside while life is still busy.
In order to know that kind of peace in our daily lives, we first need peace with God, and that only comes through what Jesus Christ has done for us. He made peace through His blood on the cross, so that we who were once far off and at war with God can be forgiven and brought near. When we have peace with God, then we can begin to experience the peace of God keeping our hearts and minds steady in Him. Without that, there is an inner restlessness and turmoil that wears us down.
That perfect peace comes as you turn your mind toward Him and trust Him. When your thoughts stay on Him, His peace begins to fill your heart. It is the quiet confidence that He sees you, He has not forgotten you, His thoughts toward you are for peace and not for evil, and He will take care of what concerns you. The world cannot give or even understand this peace, but you can know it as you look to Him.
I prayed that the Lord will quiet your mind and free you from this sense of being tense and hurried. May He help you to do what is before you lightly and freely, without driving yourself so hard, and to take care of yourself as He cares for you. I asked Him to ease the tiredness, to calm the restlessness, to restore your appetite and the simple enjoyment of food, and to give you unhurried rest. As you keep your mind stayed on Him and trust Him moment by moment, may His peace guard your heart and mind and keep you steady in Christ.
