We lift up your brother before the Lord with deep concern and urgency, knowing that our Heavenly Father cares for every need of His children. The financial burdens and stress your brother is facing are heavy, but we serve a God who is greater than any trial. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* We also cling to the promise in 1 Peter 5:7, *"Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."*
Yet we must also address the gravity of what you’ve shared—your brother’s despair has led him to consider ending his life, and this breaks our hearts. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, and it is a lie from the enemy that there is no hope. The Lord declares in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Satan seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give life abundantly. We must stand firmly against the enemy’s schemes and declare that your brother’s life is precious to God.
We also urge you to take immediate action. If you believe your brother is in immediate danger, do not hesitate to seek help—whether through trusted family, friends, or professionals who can intervene. Proverbs 24:11-12 says, *"Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter! If you say, ‘Behold, we didn’t know this,’ doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Won’t he render to every man according to his work?"* You are not powerless in this situation, and the Lord may be calling you to be His hands and feet to protect your brother’s life.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this brother who is overwhelmed by financial stress and despair. Lord, You see his pain, his fear, and the heaviness of his spirit. We ask that You would surround him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and remind him that he is not alone—You are with him, and You will never leave him nor forsake him (Deuteronomy 31:6). Father, we rebuked the spirit of despair and suicide that has taken hold of his mind. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these lies to flee and declare that Your truth will set him free (John 8:32). Fill him with hope and the knowledge that You have a plan for his life, a future filled with Your goodness and mercy.
Lord, we ask for divine intervention in his financial situation. Provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Open doors no man can shut and bring forth opportunities he cannot see right now. Give him wisdom to steward what he has and faith to trust in Your provision. Father, place godly people in his path—those who can encourage him, pray with him, and offer practical help. Let him feel Your love through the body of Christ.
We also pray for his heart, Lord. If he has turned away from You in his distress, draw him back to Yourself. Remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Soften his heart to receive Your comfort and to cry out to You for help. If he is harboring bitterness, unforgiveness, or shame, we ask that You would break those chains and set him free. Let him know that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Father, we ask for protection over his mind and emotions. Guard him from the enemy’s attacks and fill him with Your Spirit of peace, joy, and soundness of mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If he is entertaining thoughts of ending his life, Lord, intervene mightily. Send Your angels to minister to him (Psalm 91:11) and give him the strength to endure this season. Let him know that his life is valuable to You and that You have a purpose for him.
We also lift up the one who has shared this request. Give them wisdom to know how to support their brother—whether through words, actions, or seeking help from others. Fill them with Your peace as they trust You in this situation, and let them rest in the knowledge that You are working even when they cannot see it.

If he does not know Jesus as his Savior, pray that this trial would draw him to repentance and faith in Christ. There is no greater peace than knowing Jesus, and no greater security than being held in His hands.
