We hear your heart and understand the distress this situation is causing you, especially in the sacred covenant of marriage. Snoring can indeed be a physical challenge, but the way your husband is responding to it, with an accusatory tone, is not honoring to the love and patience God calls spouses to exhibit toward one another. Let us first address this with Scripture, for marriage is a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, and both husband and wife are called to submit to one another in reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21-33).
The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 that love is patient and kind, not easily angered, and always hopes and perseveres. It is clear your husband’s frustration is not aligned with this biblical definition of love. We must rebuke this spirit of accusation and impatience in his tone, for it is not of God. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." His words should build you up, not tear you down, especially during a time as sacred as carrying a child.
We also want to encourage you to continue seeking solutions for the snoring, as it is affecting both of your rest and peace. While you have tried natural remedies, have you considered consulting a medical professional? Sometimes snoring can be linked to underlying health issues, and addressing those may bring relief. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." God may use doctors or other means to provide a solution, so do not lose heart in seeking help.
Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer, lifting up both you and your husband to Him:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear sister and her marriage to You. Lord, we ask that You would touch her body and bring relief from the snoring that has become such a burden. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. We pray for wisdom for her as she seeks solutions, whether through medical advice or other means, and we ask that You would guide her steps to find relief.
Father, we also lift up her husband to You. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to see the way his words and tone have been affecting his wife. Fill him with Your love, patience, and kindness, that he may speak to her in a way that honors You and builds her up. Remind him of the vows he made before You to love and cherish her, and help him to live out those vows daily.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of accusation and impatience that has crept into their marriage. We declare that their home will be a place of peace, love, and mutual respect. Strengthen their bond, Father, and help them to navigate this challenge with grace and unity. We pray for the child she is carrying, that You would protect and bless this little one, and that this pregnancy would be a time of joy and anticipation for both parents.
Father, we ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified in their marriage. Amen.
Continue to trust in the Lord, dear sister, and do not allow the enemy to use this situation to bring division or discouragement into your marriage. Stand on God’s Word, which promises that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep communicating openly with your husband, and encourage him to seek the Lord as well, for a marriage rooted in Christ is unshakable. You are not alone in this, we stand with you in prayer and faith.
