We join you in prayer for this good and godly desire for marriage and we thank you for asking us to pray in Jesus name, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. We rejoice that your heart is set not simply on companionship but on love and marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman.

The scripture tells us that this desire is placed in the heart by God Himself. Genesis 2:18 says it is not good that the man should be alone and Proverbs 18:22 says whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. We also remember Psalm 37:4 to delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart and Matthew 6:33 to seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Your request for a woman who truly has interest in getting to know you and who will persevere in love with you is a beautiful picture of the steadfast love God calls husbands and wives to share.

We want to encourage you as you wait and as you pray for miracles and for practical ways to meet. God still works miracles, yet He often works through very practical and faithful means. We encourage you to be rooted in a local Bible believing church, to be active in fellowship, service and community where you can be known and where you can get to know a future wife in a natural and godly context. We encourage you to be preparing even now to be the godly husband described in Ephesians 5:25, loving as Christ loved the church, leading with kindness, humility and strength. We also encourage you to seek a wife who is a Christian believer, for 2 Corinthians 6:14 reminds us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, and a marriage that honors God is one where both are walking with Christ together. We view courtship as purposeful with the goal of marriage, not casual dating, and we encourage you to pursue purity and to keep the marriage bed undefiled as Hebrews 13:4 teaches, fleeing from fornication as 1 Corinthians 6:18 instructs, so that your future marriage can begin on a foundation of honor and trust.

We also hear your prayer that she will not give up on you and that you will truly belong to one another. We pray that God will give you both a persevering, patient and gracious love, while also trusting His perfect timing and His will above all. Sometimes waiting is part of Gods good work in us. Psalm 27:14 says wait for Yahweh, be strong, and let your heart take courage, yes, wait for Yahweh and Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God knows the plans He has for us, plans for peace and not for evil, to give hope and a future.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we lift up our brother to Your throne of grace. We thank You for his desire for marriage and for his faith to ask You for help. Lord, if it is Your will, we ask that You would lead him to the woman You have prepared for him to love and to marry, a woman who loves You first and who will love him with a sincere and steadfast heart. Make it possible in practical ways for them to meet and to get to know each other in a godly and wholesome way, through Your church and community and through doors that only You can open. Give them both wisdom, discernment and patience to recognize Your leading and give them grace to build a relationship that honors You, that remains pure and that looks toward a lifelong covenant of marriage. Work miracles in his life according to Your perfect will, strengthen his faith while he waits, and help him to become more like Christ each day. We trust Your timing and Your goodness and we ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Father, we lift you to You in Jesus name. You see his desire for marriage and for love that is faithful. Give him encouragement in lonely moments, surround him with good friendships, and guide his steps. If it is Your will, open the practical doors for him to meet the woman You have for him in Your perfect timing, and help them both to know and choose each other with patience and grace. Amen.

Your request has been laid before the Lord and we have made it our prayer in the precious name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and in whom alone is salvation.

We are glad to hear the desire of your heart toward that holy estate which God ordained from the beginning. Marriage is honourable in all, and it is not a less sacred thing to be the married wife than to be otherwise consecrated to Christ. The very crown of marriage is mutual delight and complacency, where husband and wife become one, not two persons maintaining a cold individuality, but one flesh by the gracious joining of God. To seek such a union in love and in purity, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman as the Scripture teaches, is a good and comely desire.

We have prayed therefore that the Lord, who knows your frame and your loneliness, would in His own wise time and providence bring to you the woman whom He has appointed for you, a godly woman who will have a sincere interest in your soul and who will love you with a steadfast love. We have asked that He would make the way plain in practical things, that when you meet there may be honest and orderly means to get to know one another, under the eye of His people and in the fear of the Lord, with much prayer and patience and clear testimony of character.

We have prayed also that she may be one who will not lightly turn away, but who will cleave to the covenant with faithfulness, as you also must cleave to her, until you are hers and she is yours in the Lord. Such perseverance is of God, for He Himself seeks and finds His own until He finds them, and He teaches His children to love with a like constancy.

We join you in asking for miracles, yet we remind you that our God often works His wonders by ordinary means, by a word, by a gathering of His saints, by opening a door which no man can shut. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, set your heart fully upon finding Christ and walking close with Him, and make yourself ready as one who would be a faithful husband, sober, upright, diligent in the Word and in prayer. As the wife makes herself ready for the marriage, so must we be made ready for every good gift of God.

May the Lord keep you in perfect trust while you wait, saying with holy Job, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. May He grant you contentment in Christ today, and in His season bring to pass that which is for your good and for His glory. We commend you to His gracious keeping and pray that He will answer according to His abundant mercy.
