We hear your heart’s longing for a godly wife, and we join you in bringing this desire before the Lord in Jesus’ name. Your request is precious to God, for He delights in giving good gifts to His children, especially the gift of a marriage that reflects Christ’s love for the Church. We are grateful you have called upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Father, we come before You with this brother’s prayer, asking that You would prepare his heart and the heart of the woman You have for him. Lord, we pray that You would lead him to a woman who loves You above all else, whose faith is rooted in Your Word, and whose life is a testimony of Your grace. May she be a Proverbs 31 woman, one who fears You, seeks wisdom, and walks in integrity. Prepare her now, Lord, to be a helper suitable for him, just as Eve was for Adam (Genesis 2:18).

We ask that You would open doors for them to meet in ways that are practical, natural, and aligned with Your will. Remove any obstacles or fears that may hinder their connection, and give them both the courage to step forward in faith when the time is right. Lord, we pray that the woman You have for him would have a genuine interest in getting to know him, not as a fleeting desire, but as a divine appointment. May she be patient, kind, and persistent in her pursuit of Your will for their lives, just as Ruth was for Boaz (Ruth 3:10).

We also pray for miracles in his life, Lord. Miracles of favor, opportunities, and divine connections that can only be explained by Your hand. But above all, we pray for the miracle of a transformed heart, one that is fully surrendered to You, ready to love sacrificially, and committed to honoring You in marriage. May their union be a testimony of Your faithfulness, a light to others, and a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33).

We must also encourage you, brother, to examine your own heart and life as you wait for God’s provision. Are you living in a way that honors Him? Are you cultivating godly character, purity, and wisdom? The Bible tells us that "he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord" (Proverbs 18:22), but it also warns us to "flee from sexual immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If there are any areas of your life where you are not walking in purity, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. A godly marriage begins with a godly man, and we pray that you would be that man, one who is patient, self-controlled, and fully submitted to Christ.

Lastly, we rebuke any spirit of loneliness, impatience, or unbelief that may try to creep into your heart. The enemy would love to distract you with doubt or lead you into relationships that do not honor God. But we stand on Your promises, Lord, and declare that this brother’s future is secure in Your hands. We trust that You will bring the right woman into his life at the right time, and until then, we pray that he would find his ultimate fulfillment in You.

That way, when He does bring someone across your path, you’ll be ready to pursue a healthy relationship and not give up on each other easily.

We also want to lift up the specific things you mentioned: the practical details of getting to know one another, and a woman who will have genuine interest and not walk away before a bond can form. Those aren’t small requests, and God is not dismissive of them. He cares about the little moments and the logistics we sometimes worry about.

Father, we ask You to guide ### step by step. Prepare him and the woman You intend for him to meet, and when that meeting happens, make the way clear and natural. Behold what manner of love the Bridegroom has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the spouse of Christ! The husband's love to his spouse is something special and particular, and it stands quite alone and all by itself. No sooner does the spouse say, "Let my Beloved come into His garden," than her Lord answers, "I am come into My garden." "Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Is it not written, "The Lord has appeared of old unto me, saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love"? Divine love had no beginning!

The remedy for his soul's sickness was love. His heart was fetched up from the grave of its despair by love, love was the hand of power that drew him up and love the cords by which he was lifted. The ever-gracious Lord means to perfect that which concerns you by the action of this same love. His gentleness has made you great and His love will make you glorious!

Oh, for Grace to appropriate a whole Christ and all the love, the Grace, the Glory that is laid up in Him! Let us think of this love by striving after sanctification and let us think of this love, above all, by rendering to Him, now, and as long as we live, the full love of our heart. We cannot love Him without being moved to love Him more. Divine love is the most sanctifying agency in the world, it is that which constrains us now that we live unto His name, for, "the love of Christ constrains us." Love worked the rescue.

Love did it all! Let Love wear the crown! Look your Savior in the face and say to Him, "Do not I love You, O my Lord? Behold my heart and see." As you sit in your pews, try to feel more than you have ever done before, the bonds of love which bind Christ to you and which also bind you to Christ.

Say, with the Apostle, "We love Him because He first loved us." These bonds are mutual and they are indissoluble. Love has supported us till this day and will keep us to the end. Thus were these two men bound together by ties of mutual love, may we be thus bound to Jesus! Oh, that there may be such love between us and our Lord as shall even excel the love of Jonathan and David!

Nothing is better than a good life, whether here or there. Wherefore do you procrastinate? Wherefore do you delay and postpone? You ask for a wife, and that is a good thing, for marriage is honorable. But let your first care be for your soul. Do not think that a miracle consists in a sudden meeting or a woman’s unwavering interest. The true miracle is that Christ has called you to be a saint, even if you are a person living in the world. Every believer is a saint in that he is a believer. See how the faith makes the saintship.

If you would meet a woman God wants you to love, then love God first with such intensity that you hate your own life by comparison. For nothing is nearer than the life to any man; yet if you hate not this also, you cannot follow Him as you ought. Let your desire for marriage be not from passion, but in subservience to the promise of God. Remember Isaac, who took a wife when the flower of his youth had passed, showing that he did it not from passion, but for the sake of the promise. He lived as one whose home was above, showing sobermindedness and a well-ordered life, even when he was a stranger in a foreign land.

I will pray that God makes it possible for you to meet a godly woman, but do not set your heart on a woman who will not give up on you. Set your heart instead on never giving up on Christ. Be zealous for the saints, minister to them, and strive after a good life. Do not barter away the salvation of God for an easy life or for earthly attachments. If you are a catechumen, delay no longer; if you are enlightened, live as one whose citizenship is in heaven. Then, in God’s time, He may grant you a helper suited to a life of faith and sobriety. But whether you marry or not, let your home be above, and let all your ways be in the Lord.

Your request for a miracle speaks straight to the heart of God, who delights in doing what only He can do. In the law, a leper had no hope apart from a divine act of cleansing, and Jesus showed His willingness when He said, "I am willing; be clean." That same willingness extends to the details of your life, including your longing for a godly wife. I join you in asking that He makes a way, practically and clearly, for you to meet her and build a connection that neither of you will abandon.

Still, the greatest miracle is the one He has already begun in you: freeing you from sin's power and transforming you into His likeness. As you seek a spouse, let that miracle be the foundation. A marriage that reflects His compound unity, two becoming one, is a picture of His own nature, and He cares deeply about forming it in His time.

It is folly to pretend we know the day or the hour, but the divine imperative stands: what God has spoken will come to pass. Like Jesus asleep in the storm, rest in His perfect peace, knowing He is not anxious about your future. Even when the sea feels rough, He is in the boat with you. I pray He sends a woman who shows genuine interest and perseveres, just as He perseveres with us. May miracles unfold in your life, not only in this area, but in deeper conformity to Christ. He who healed the blind and mute, who raised the dead, is able to give life to this hope. Trust Him.
